Way to easy for the card to get damaged using a letter envelope. Place the card in a penny sleeve, and then a toploader. Put 2 thin pieces of cardboard around the card and place in a padded bubble envelope. It fits thru template. Customer will be greatful
former usps worker, yes the template checker is a thing, it is to determine if an envelope can fit thru the machine or if it needs to be sent with ground advantage (formerly first class) package rate. the durability issue people are having is an envelope needs to be 80% or less rigid. essentially take one of your envelopes and put it against the edge of your desk and can any of that envelope curve around the desk (not at a 90 degree angle but enough to take the curves and bends of the machines at the post office). If there's no flexibility because say there's cardboard or top loaders all the way across the envelope, then that's a non-machinable envelope. the post office isn't going to "care" about people saving that 50 or so cents to send as non-machinable when those types of things damage the machines, which cost a ton more than 50 cents. senders should also be aware that top loaders are 9x/10 more likely to get stuck on a roller in the machine due to the sudden thickness change than a card saver, which is why a lot of people recommend card savers over top loaders. another issue people run into is buyers getting dinged with postage due for package rates and they say well they put the envelope thru the checker and it wasn't to thick, but did you tape the top loaders side by side in the envelope or did you let them free roam the envelope during transit because if those top loaders ended up on top of each other at some point during transit, it's now a package rate envelope.
What a lot of sellers seem to forget is that at the end of the day. eBay is a business. And they have share holders to answer to. I don’t like paying a lot of fees, but where else can I get access to millions of potential customers?
Can you talk about your average sales daily weekly. Round numbers are okay. You have been doing this for awhile you have a pretty good base of customers how long did it take you to get your customer base. Also when is your down time ie slow sales what months? My wife and I are new at selling cards. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.
I just found your channel and love your insight. I have taken your advice and have used it on my Mercari shop and just wanted to thank you. This last month was my biggest to date. I greatly appreciate your content and just wanted to give ya a shout out.
Personally, I do auctions very rarely. Mainly because the auctions end within 3-9 days which in my opinion is not enough time for potential buyers to see your card.
Auctions are really for items you cannot sell too easily through buy it now. If you have items you see haven’t sold, throw it in an auction and roll the dice at that point. Also starting it on Sunday night and having it end the next Sunday night is the best for auctions. Seems to be the sweet spot.
eBay absolutely is happy to charge for each transaction. Also, unless zero buyers are using their available funds option they take it either way. It would be nice if they forced a buyer to pay for everything they owed at once and split the fee but instead everyone is deducted that amount. I have even had a buyer who paid for one order and left another unpaid he had committed to earlier. I am sure they have contracts with the payment companies and are making a good amount from each of these transactions.
I've never had a problem with flexability, but my local PO does have a thickness checker and if it is too thick, then it needs to be shipped as a package.
I've been reselling for 23 years but decided to do just sports cards a couple months ago. I've got around two thousand cards listed so far. I love selling low end cards and was elated when I found your channel recently. My question for you is what percent do you promote at? I pay anywhere from 1-3 cents per card but with low end cards every cent counts. I'm getting daily sales and listing daily but in order for me to stop being an "everything" seller i need to boost my card sales a lot. Thanks for the great content. Keep it up.
Not sure why they are making it so hard no to invoice people. I don't have immediate payment on my items yet Ebay makes them pay anyway. I have been thinking about doing what you do and factor the shipping in the price ....

What's unethical is eBay deducting 13.25% out for sales tax I never handled...and the same for shipping when I buy labels directly through them.

awesome rich!
As far as the comment about the unethical final value fee being charged, perhaps a class-action lawsuit against eBay may solve the issue.
I had asked my local post office if one mine was too thick, and they did in fact pull out that template.
My post office uses the thickness template all the time.

isn''t there an option to extend the auction to up to 30 days?

Oh wow now thats crazy! I wonder if theres an additional setting somewhere. Ive noticed ive had to turn stuff on or off in different spots now
Great insights
I do buy it now... until the inventory gets stale and then I post it auction style.
I can barely get my PO to talk to me. I can only imagine if I asked for a template.
Great information Paul. Much success in your business 💕💕
Just getting started here. Is there a way to create and download a business logo for free? Thanks for the awesome videos
how do people make profit when selling card for 1.49 or less with free shipping!!
now its extremely small profit, its why most have raised their prices to 1.60 or 1.75 after the last two usps increases.
