    Looking good guys! I like the metal siding. My cabin is same sqft but 14x14 and that is just enough room for a couple of people or an old guy and his dogs.

    @Echoes Up North, I have a suggestion for you on that last piece of Sheet Metal on the ceiling!!! Make it a Hidden Compartment (with Epoxy the Hinges & cut off screw threads to appear like the are fasteners and a steel plate with a good magnet on the hinged door) Only you and your family will know its there, incase of an emergency!!! Looks like a nice place!!!

    I think it’s all going to be so much less maintenance. I do prefer natural pine but the beauty of the metal roofing on the ceilings is that if you decided to it could easily be taken down. At the end of the day it’s your vision and that’s what’s important ! Take care my friend and thanks for the update 😄

    What a great idea to put metal on the ceiling. I think it will help reflect heat back into the cabin. The metal will also reflect light into the cabin. Nice.

    Thank you for making these films. Brilliant work! Especially on your own. It's not until you install sheet materials that you find out if your building is truly square or not. I'll be fitting 6m long roof sheets to my own cabin roof next week...slightly worried they will show up my out-of-square roof.

    Looks good but I think that light colored tin on roof paired with white walls will make for a cabin that is extremely bright and maybe some reflection. I’d rethink painting walls white

    I like the idea of using the metal roofing as your ceiling. Especially the silver side showing. I just don't understand why you didn't screw them to the rafters? Wouldn't that have saved a lot of time and labor?

    At first, I wasn't sure I liked the color of the tin you were putting on the ceiling, but as you finally had several pieces up, I think it's perfect, in fact, now I can't see you having used any other color. I can't wait to see everything stained out, but if you chose to paint those beautiful knotty pine walls white, I will have to take back everything I just said. It's looking great so far!

    I like the innovation of using supports to install the ceiling. I can’t say I’m a fan of the tin. I would have left the rafters open beneath the loft area.

    I am amazed that the piece of wood you were using to sit on didn't break. It had a huge knot right in the middle. Worst spot possible. You did it though. Looks great!

      We leave ours in, but we live on a protected, shallow part of the lake. Not much wave action or movement from the ice.

    Super inspiring stuff! Roughly what part of Michigan are you in? How do those screw pylons work for frost? Cheers!

    • @echoesupnorth2367
      @echoesupnorth2367  ปีที่แล้ว

      The cabin is in the Northern lower peninsula of Michigan. The pylons work great with frost. They at below the frost line and have a small footprint so they resist ground heave from frost. Thanks for watching!
