- During this trip to the cabin, I started construction of our off-grid bath house (Outhouse/Shower) building, finally have working lights in the cabin powered by a new Growatt 1300 power station, and installed the solar porch awning over the front door. (Thanks to help from Steve and Dylan!)
I really have enjoyed this series, you are giving me some great ideas for my off grid cabin build coming up later this year.
You have a similar setup to my place in the Yoop. You are executing it nicer than I can. Great work.
Nice to see you back again. Happy your wrist is healing. The cabin is looking good. Thanks for sharing.
you could put an IBC tote on a stand near shower and pump water to it from the lake and have a gravity fed shower
You have a nice setup. 👍
Sure is coming along nicely.. Great work so far. Keep up the amazing work. Stay safe my friend.👍🤓👍🤓Randy.
Big fan of your channel and the cabin buildout. Glad to see you on the mend.
A lot of hard work. Your cabin and its outbuildings are fantastic. Love your videos. Keep up the good work.
Gave me a great idea on the bath house for my northern MI property. Excelent work and great videos! Love following the progress.
Great seeing you guys working together. The place is looking great.
More great progress ! Thanks for sharing ! Hope you and your family are enjoying Memorial weekend. Take care Justin
Looking good!
Very nice. You and your family will have many good times!
So nice to see you back. Long winter eh? Your peaceful space is progressing nicely. Good job.
You are making headway. I was surprised by the location of the bath house only until you did not dig a hole. Clearly this will be a composting toilet. Bug screen on the wood slates would be needed where i am but it looks very nice. Yah brother in law and nephew!
Youve done amazing, your land is beautiful, its going to be a fantasstic holiday home xx
Back to work again 😁 take care stay safe
Looking great!!!!
a simple wood walkway between shower/ toilet would be nice as a 'raised' wood walkway would keep dirt from being tracked into cabin and is pleasing to your feet
IBC tote stack one shower one for cabin water one lake water for all else "brilliant" !!! I like myself LOL
think about an IBC tote, they are really inexpensive and Amazon sells liners for them under $60 lotsa large food processers and restaurants use and dispose of them / easy to haul in a pick up and can transfer water between two of them with siphon or simple battery pump 250/ 350 gallons of water
Haven't seen you for a while Nice job You've been doing a very good job brother I really like your work and like what you've done but I got a question for you what year is that four-wheeler what kind is it I like to get me one if you could please let me know please I appreciate it thank you bro keep up the good work
I like your style of building / I assume you are going to use a composting toilet as you did not dig a pit for the outhouse / the shower can just drain on the ground if you use the right type of soaps and shampoos / camping tip from my dad use Ivory soap if bathing in lakes or rivers as it floats and you won't lose you bar of soap /really works
@echoesupnorth2367 Hey Justin, great videos! I just got a bunch of those same Pylex helical piers, and will be doing something similar in Mid Michigan. Any pointers besides making sure the rebar is pounded in plumb?
do you wish you would have had French doors on the front for more light and better view ???
Build an identical structure in bright sunshine, put solar panels on top.
Why?
I really like that ceiling fan. Where'd you get it?
Why not have the shower/toilet attached to the cabin, with access from inside the cabin?😊
Odors. 💩
Outhouse next to the cabin?Again what are you thinking?Silly me maybe you enjoy that smell……
When I first moved to my home 44 years ago I had an outhouse about 10 feet from my back door at the edge of my deck. There was no smell. Each time you use it you spread a little lime on it. I would have picnics on the deck and there was no smell. I now have a fully functional bathroom and have a lagoon for the waste. A lagoon is an open air septic system. My garden is about 15 feet from the lagoon and there is no smell even at the hottest part of the summer. And I am not claiming that my crap doesn't stink but properly maintained systems should not smell.
Who wants to smell,While showering?Sorry not too well thought out…
Looks great! Can't wait to see the draw on the panels with partially shaded. I have the same situation.
