He's being filmed the entire time and also fucking edits it how he wants. He could have got shitty and did nothing plenty of times. Im not saying he doesnt have a great attitude, im just saying this is a show that's been filmed.
@@adamgordon3163 If you've ever worked in a restaurant you know that no place ever actually completely sells out of product. There are always leftovers, whether it's customer screw ups, waitstaff screw ups or just too much left over, and can't serve the next day. Also if you become friends with the cooks / chefs you will never go hungry!
Director here. @dinimuatter We didn't. We had myself running one camera, a shooter/producer running another, one more producer to keep everything in line and on time, and sound guy. All of us were on our feet for 24hrs as well. The editor is the real hero tho... We shot something like 11hrs of footage per camera
Its worth watching because Andrew is such a lovable guy. Great sense of humour, good personality, and a hard worker. You better not lose him Bon Appetit
I stood in line for 3 hours for this stuff. I was ready to call it overrated, not worth the time. But, no, it totally is. The best brisket I've ever had and I can't imagine how anyone can make it any better. It actually ruined BBQ for me for about a year because I compared my local stuff to Franklin BBQ in my head and everything became disappointing.
I know it sounds insane to try and get anything close but start smoking yourself. You get to experiment and slowly become amazing. I have been for a decade and know I come close to some of our top places here (STL). Mostly because you get to tweak your recipes to perfectly match your taste.
Franklin's recipe is simple. Quality post-oak, salt & pepper, off-set smokers, and patience. If you have never been here before, I highly recommend it. They may not have the best ribs or turkey in the world, but the brisket is by far the best brisket you will ever eat which is the staple for any good Texas BBQ.
from what I understand, this isn't even the best BBQ in the world; it's the best restaurant BBQ in the world. I think big competition brisket is even better. Obviously not gonna be trying that for myself anytime soon so this is as good as it gets.
That dude who works by himself has the fucking life. I used to be a night shift baker, I would work by myself 3/6 days a week, never having to see anyone or deal with anyone, getting work done, enjoying yourself; that would be bitchin
Thurnis Haley that's my job now, n I love it ! Well, 3:30-noon is my shift, but during those early hours I totally agree....so peaceful and perfect for getting a lot of work done without people in the way :P
That shits gotta get old after a while though. Making the same things every day, same process for years and years on end? That would be mentally numbing to me.
The thing that surprised me was how relatively young the crew is for such an iconic restaurant. Not only that but how pleasant and passionate they all are. I love passion borne of a good heart and the crew really seems to have nailed it. Great job, Andrew and Franklins!
You guys are the reason schools get shot up. Just because he has acne and isn't the coolest, best looking guy you're going to throw shade at him. I hope your kids are like you, and they bully a kid like this, and they get killed in a school shooting. Shame on you.
@@mickdavis2385 I had probably the worst acne ever until I was 26 brah. It's because it's of how socially awkward he is. If you want to survive you need to interact with people. So is that really why school are shot up? Because HE exists or because normal people exist?
Andrew, I love seeing your passion, it really shows, and I thank you for your content. Food that brings every age colour and creed together id truly magical
My father runs his own business, and I remember when I was younger I once saw some of the crazy numbers he was getting paid and was absolutely amazed. Then he told me that most of that money goes into his business costs.....

Pitmaster Andy, and his wife Chelsey were my neighbors for a couple years. Later half was when this was recorded. Lucky for us we never had to wait in line for bbq because of that. Aside from that, your comment about the people who work at Franklin’s couldn’t be more true. They were great neighbors and good friends. Great video. 🍻
Hi Adrenaline Barbecue Company. I will be opening a BBQ restaurant and will be located within 100 yards of Franklin Barbecue. My BBQ joint will be a complete rip-off of Franklin Barbecue's recipes and I will only serve a maximum of 500 customers per day; however, my customers will only have to wait for 30 minutes maximum to get their delicious BBQ. I plan on spending $4 million to open this new BBQ joint. My business will be similar to Franklin Barbecue (almost a complete copy/rip-off) but just a maximum of 30 minutes wait time for our customers. The price of my BBQ items will only be 5% higher than Franklin Barbecue's prices. Would you pay 5% higher to be able to wait for only 30 minutes?
Been here for 13 years and still not eaten at Franklin, but I can confirm that Aaron Franklin is just a down-to-Earth, awesome dude. He was my customer at a local electronics supply store when I was still working retail. Super nice and jovial and just a joy to help. Really appreciated that he was doing the supply runs himself and not just paying people to act as gophers.
I just have to say that i have a whole new level of respect for u all. I smoked 1 brisket for 13 hrs and thought i had it rough. Man o man am I wrong. Shot out to u Mr. Franklin. Keep doin what u do. I hope to make it out to ur spot soon.

Ordered a couple briskets for pickup on my birthday last year. Grabbed a turkey breast as well. The turkey breast was great but the brisket is without a doubt the best brisket I've ever had. The post oak smoke is strong but not overpowering. The tenderness is perfect. Morning after the party we threw the left over brisket on some breakfast tacos and those breakfast tacos are also the best I've ever had. Expensive and you have to order at least a month ahead of time (if you're doing pickup) but definitely worth it.
i remember waking up with my cousins and my brother when i was like 13 at 5 am and waiting all day the line and the people by itself is amazing makes the food 100x better
We went there a few years ago. Hungover as hell we arrived at 8:30 am and waited in sweltering heat (105) and we were lucky to get in. The brisket is insane, especially the little bits he gives you at the counter. Ribs were excellent, the sausage, however, was dry and not good.

Aaron is a great guy who loves what he does I’ve watched so many of his videos to learn how to bbq to improve my own skills and I would love to try his food one day.

Get a early nights sleep, wake up, start drinking beer at 5am, wait for amazing BBQ until 11am, eat amazing BBQ while drunk....I'm all about that life.
This is the best BBQ and meal I have ever had. I hated when they opened up their store because of the crowd and congestion in front of my parent's vacation home (it used to be very quiet/uncongested every year until I was in 5th grade), but I grew to love it after my first visit. I don't know why it took my family 2 annual vacation to Austin until we decided to walk over one morning. The brisket and ribs are phenomenal. If you can get the beef ribs, definitely go for it. It's gotten to the point where my family would wake up every day at 6-7am and wait in line when we were in Austin. The travel to Austin just to eat here is worth the time and money in itself. We have decent bbq here in NYC, but what I would do to even have a Franklin's popup here.
