Of all the songs they wrote 17 went to #1. Most were recorded by the BeeGees or Andy Gibb. The one that surprised me the most was "Grease" by Frankie Valli, another falsetto king. There were several years in the late 70s where they owned the top 100. One of Barry's true friends was Michael Jackson. He named one of his sons after Michael who was also the godfather.

It's like they invented harmony. Live band, no auto tune, no computerized voice enhancement and one mic for all three of them. Back then (1979). singing was just pure, raw talent. By the date of this recording, the BeeGees had already been singing together professionally for 21 years when Barry was 12 years old and the twins were just 9. All of the Gibb brothers including little brother, Andy, could sing in that amazing falsetto voice. But Barry was the master. He was able to exorcise more control over it. The Gibbs were, in my opinion, the most multi-talented families in music history. They wrote their own songs as well as writing songs for many other musical greats. This song was included on a compilation album to benefit UNICEF. There were many artists who recorded songs on the album, but the BeeGees gave all the royalties from this song in any form. In, at that time, an unprecedented move, they also gave UNICEF the publishing rights to Too Much Heaven. To date, Too Much Heaven has raised over 11 million dollars for UNICEF. In 1967, they wrote a song called To Love Somebody which appeared on their third album titled BeeGees 1st, but their first internationally, as the first two albums were only released in Australia. BeeGees 1st was released in July '67. Otis Redding was set to record To Love Somebody on his next album. Sadly, Otis was killed in a plane crash, Dec 10,1967. I thought for the longest time that they didn't record it themselves until after the death of Otis Redding. Their brother Andy Gibb had a very successful solo career as well until his death on March 10,1988. Just 5 days after turning 30. Andy had developed myocarditis, inflammation of the heart, which was brought on by a viral infection While most people recover from myocarditis, Andy's body was unable to fight the infection due to his history of drug use. Soo sad! The 1st time I heard this song, I was 15 years old. I was sitting on the floor in our living room. They sang with so much emotion that I had tears running down my face. It didn't hurt that before this I found out that Barry and I shared the same birthday, me in 1963 and him in 1946. While I was crying, my daddy came in and told me to knock it off or he'd change the channel. He was mean.

The Bee Gees and Andy Gibb were ALL brothers and of the few, if only, who embraced funk, soul and R&B and we're successful for it.
So, they prove no matter a person's skin color, it comes from within one's soul. You've got to appreciate their mark on the World their music left. No matter the skin color of listeners of their music, their music goes past color. Exhibit A.

The group the Bee Gees were brother's. All 3 brother's have falsetto range which made them that more talented. The Bee Gees have been recording as a group since the early 60's. The group became even more popular in the 70's. Their music could easily stand up today in rotation on any R&B or Soft Rock Radio station. Sadly Barry Gibb the lead singer is the only brother still alive. The youngest brother Andy Gibb not in the group, but a great solo artist in his own right passed away first. Maurice Gibb passed away then Robin Gibb passed away leaving only Barry.

BeeGees one of the greatest most talented band of brothers w amazing voices , arrangements and music that rocked the 70’s, 80’s and 90’S. They had a younger brother, much younger, who also joined the band, Andy... he also wrote, sang w the band making his own mark! He passed in late eighties also a great loss! RIP Bros and God bless Maurice! The Bee Gees have written many hit songs for other talented singers as well as themselves and sang back up. Just a gifted fantastic band of brothers who left a major mark on music! Check out “Saturday night Fever” ; all the music album and movie was theirs and really blew the disco era wide open. Enjoy and God bless!
    Your doing great!

A great song that just put you over 39,000 but The Bee Gees used to sing normally with early hits such as How Do You Mend a Broken Heart and I Started a Joke among many that is worth exposing yourself to Jayy. Congratulations on 39,000!

Just to add to what a commentor said below: 'No AutoTune required.' While that's true, keep in mind that AutoTune had not even been invented yet, when this was recorded. So this was pure, raw talent. They were magic! Loved your reaction!

The Bee Gees the greatest group of all-time and that there will ever be! This song was made for UNICEF and all proceeds went to it. I believe this song made about 7 million.
