Hi Ambrose Cynthia! I disagree with those on here who said you stopped too much. No, when I'm watching you and you're watching them, I can see your facial expressions but I can't see your thoughts. I want to know what is going through your head at each moment. If you wait till the end you may have lost those thoughts. So I think you should stop whenever you feel like stopping!

I disagree with you on the stopping too much. I would prefer she listen to entire song and then react. I mean, the Bee Gees were one of my favorite groups of all time and I would like to hear the song without it being constantly interrupted. But that is just my personal opinion, of course.

It is difficult to monetize a reaction channel dealing with music or other copyrighted material. TH-cam uses AI called "Content ID" to identify and block uploads that contain copyrighted material. Pausing and talking every 15 -20 seconds helps. That is why a lot of reaction channels sell merchandise to help support what they do. I've been preparing to launch my own channel for almost a year, but I'm not going to go in blindly. And I have to say ... watching people having their soul invaded is a unique experience and having them describe how the song affects them adds to our vicarious enjoyment. I feel the reactors soul. Their honesty can't be denied and when they express the same feelings/views that i have then there's a real connection there ... it's fleeting perhaps; but I walk away having had a real experience with a good human being.

donald dunlop That is so true!! The anticipation I feel when I know a high note or a very emotive part is coming up and then watching them experience it for the first time is just exhilarating! I feel it right along with them too. Music crosses all boundaries, it is the most pure form of human connection I think there is. Everyone can relate to emotion, and when someone can exude purity in their voice like Barry Gibb can, you feel it in the depths of your soul. None of the stuff in life that separates us is there anymore, all just washes away for the time being. Even if fleeting, it feels damn good to be part of something bigger than yourself for that small moment in time ❤️

They didn't sound like ladies to me. I would have never confused their voices with female voices. They just sounded like men singing in falsetto which is a high male voice. They were angelic sounding. The harmony was perfection. Barry Gibb the oldest was born in 1946 so in 1958 he was 12 years old. Maybe that's when he started singing with his brothers who would have been 9years old, they were fraternal twins, born at the same time but looked different.

I was born in '57, so I was aware of these guys from a very early age..Interesting fact. Robin, the brother on the left was the one standout at first. He did a song called "I started a joke" which was a big hit in the mid 60's...Robin and Maurice, (on the right) were twins...Barry, in the middle, is the oldest brother took the lead in a lot of their newer songs after I believe their manager told him to take his voice an octave higher..That's what you hear here...They also had a younger brother named Andy, who had a very successful, but short solo career. He died just days after his 30th birthday, from a weakened heart muscle due to years of cocaine abuse...He also suffered from extreme depression .

I'm 63, and some of my earliest memories are of these guys on the tube..They were actually pretty well known in the mid-60's, but they really shot to the top with the Disco era..They pretty much owned that time, with a handful of others...They blew up with the Disco movie and album of the same name, "Saturday Night Fever" starring John Travolta.

I'm 51 years old, and I've always been a hard rock/metal sort of guy (with a healthy dose of new wave thrown in) - but I have a deep and abiding love of the Bee Gees work. How can you not? Harmonies that intertwine like that don't happen every day. I had to have something to do with their being siblings. They were a once in a lifetime sort of thing. I doubt we'll ever see their like again. Happy for you to experience them for the first time, and at the same time I'm jealous of you for being able to discover them for the first time. he Gibbs were, in my opinion, the most multi-talented families in music history. They wrote their own songs as well as writing songs for many other musical greats. In 1967, they wrote a song called To Love Somebody which appeared on their third album titled BeeGees 1st, but their first internationally, as the first two albums were only released in Australia. BeeGees 1st was released in July '67. Otis Redding was set to record To Love Somebody on his next album. Sadly, Otis was killed in a plane crash, Dec 10,1967. I thought for the longest time that they didn't record it themselves until after the death of Otis Redding. Their brother Andy Gibb had a very successful solo career as well until his death on March 10,1988. Just 5 days after turning 30. Andy had developed myocarditis, inflammation of the heart, which was brought on by a viral infection While most people recover from myocarditis, Andy's body was unable to fight the infection due to his history of drug use. Soo sad!

Then from the mid-60's thru the early 70's they were kinda like a pop group. They had a producer in America reinvented them to where they started singing in falsetto and their style of music became Disco,Soul,Jazz etc... And it's been that way ever since.

This is brilliant music and no harmonies are more distinctive than the brothers Bee Gees. Barry's falsetto voice gives the unique sound that identifies the Bee Gees straight away. Brilliant musicians and songwriters. So sad that Barry is the last of the Bee Gees brothers (their younger brother Andy dies many years ago and was not really part of their band). They have been singing beautiful songs for decades. Their musical compositions are brilliant - they knew and lived music. Born in England, they moved to Australia and first appeared on TV there. Their father realised they had the potential to do well as a band and they eventually went on to the US. Not always appreciated there until the disco era brought the classics that made them mega-stars. Yep ... like the Beach Boys and Queen, ABBA, the Bee Gees were musical geniuses.

Ambrose Cynthia ... I grew up in the 1960s in Hong Kong and bought the Bee Gees' first couple of albums in late sixties. The three brothers were born in England in the 1950s and the entire family migrated to Australia. They returned to the U.K. in the mid/ late 1960s to make their name in the U.K. The official video you were watching was from 1978/ 9 when the song was released and all the proceeds have been donated to UNICEF. Although my genre of music has gone from 1960s pop (The Beatles/ Yard Birds (where Eric Clapton started)/ Kinks etc through to the American West Coast (The Beach Boys/ Buffalo Springfield/ The Byrds etc) then to Motown and Jazz Funk. However, there is always a space for The Bee Gees - who wrote all their songs.

The lead singer in the Middle, Barry Gibb is the only brother still living. He has a high range on his high voice as you hear but he also has a deeper voice heard in other songs. They were singing as little boys back in the 50s but this song and their best came in the late 60s all the 70s which was their mega star prime, then 80s and early 90s was the latter part of their career.

That song is from the 70's. I am 58 years old and I know that music, I grew up listening to it. The lead singer's (Barry Gee) voice is the product of a musical technique called falsetto.

Definitely won my favorite musicians ..There was so much great music back in the 70s and the fact that they sang everything reinventing their music and being lead singsWow i’m so happy that the younger thing grace is listening to it now I hope Gary knows that this song has gone viral a big, beautiful way and being all three of his brothers are in heaven very special…
Yes, there was a fourth BG way younger than them name is Andy take a look at his music to start..”Shadow dancing” which Barry wrote is excellent by Andy Gibb, they also had a sister who was the oldest she still alive. She sang in the very beginning when they started off, but she decided she wanted to do it.
Another note Barry in the middle in this video he’s been married for over 50 years to the same lady and a lot of songs were written for her and this particular one was written in a day. I know right ❤
A lot of the men were listening to the rock ‘n’ roll and this kind of music they consider to be bubble gum music that’s what my stepdad said. I hate that term.
Take care dear one very much enjoyed your reaction

Their sound was very unique. The vocal talent during their era was at a different level than current singers. Musicians were after critical acclaim. Today's singers are after popularity. The BeeGees stood out but the music quality was so high during that time they kind of blended with the current standards. If they were a new act today they would be far and away better than most vocally talented.

We dated in High School in Anchorage,Alaska. I was 15 and he was 16 at the time...
We lost contact for over 32 years and found each other in 2015 and we got married 10 days after I made it back with him...
It still feels like when we was in High School...

The Brothers Gibb ...... Professionally known as 'The Bee Gees.' I was married a year before this song was released. The song would had been our wedding song, even if hubby said no.
    (1) Maurice (on the right-short hair) While on his way to surgery for his intestines, he had a heart attack, yet the doctors operated anyway. (I heard Barry say this on a video.) He was in the hospital for only 2 days! Maurice (pronounced Morris) passed in 2003. I feel he should had been the lead on at least one song on every album. His voice is awesome.
    (2) Robin (on the left-long hair) passed in 2012 from cancer. He and Barry complimented each other with their voices. From looking at other videos, Robin and Maurice seemed to be the comedians. However, when it was time to handle their business, they knew what to do, as did Barry. Robin and Maurice were fraternal twins.
    (3) Andy, the youngest brother, had his own successful career. He passed in 1988, at the age of 30, from inflammation of the muscles around his heart. He and Barry could had passed as twins, even though he was 12 yrs younger than Barry. Andy did not perform with the group, because he was a baby when his brothers began singing. However, I found another video where one of the brothers said they had planned to have Andy record with them for the next album, but he passed away. There is one video where he is singing 'You Should Be Dancing' with his brothers. (silver outfits) The 3 brothers were also married and had children.
    (4) Barry (in the middle) said, "I am the last man standing." Barry is the eldest of the brothers. On September 1, 2021, he and his wife, Linda will celebrate their 51st wedding anniversary, which is also Barry's 75th birthday. They have 5 adult children, and 7 grandchildren. The Bee Gees have sold over 220 million records worldwide ( more by now.) They were also writers for other musical artists. Barry just completed a new project called 'Greenfields: The Gibb Brothers' Songbook.' It's very nice.
On a side note, their sister, Lesley is the first born. She was 76, back in January, 2021. She lives a quiet life with her family.
Listen to: How Deep Is Your Love ----- Emotion (a song written for Samantha Sang - very smooth and mellow.) --- You Win Again --- Night Fever. There are other videos that give a wealth of great information. There are pictures of them when they were babies.

Dear Ambrose Cynthia: I was just a schoolboy when I heard this music. Walking to school (it was only two miles) I would overhear the music playing on people's radios as I walked by their houses. And this song just stuck. It was the song that I most wanted to learn and to sing to my school. The school would never tolerate this. They would say, "A boy who sings like this can have anyone he wants for a date!"

The BeeGees went through 3 or 4 different phases: 1950s-1970s (this era may include 2 phases), the disco era of the 1970s (which they were mainly responsible for when they were tapped to do the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack), and their final phase which came along about a decade after disco lost its popularity. It was this final phase when they had to re-invented themselves and start writing and producing the songs like what is heard in this video.
