The Bee Gees often don't get enough credit for how talented they legitimately were. Those vocal harmonies were just amazing. You don't get that anymore in the age of auto tune.

That's ridiculous. The Bee Gees are one of the top selling groups to ever exist. They've been around as long as the Beatles. Even us musicians know good they were chops wise.

It was about songwriting and harmony.
I think this was the best song to come out of SNV and really suited the last scene of the movie. There were so many great love songs in that era. A tenderness and maturity to the lyrics and top notch composing. It's something that's pretty much disappeared in the decades afterwards. Songs about the feeling of a relationship falling apart like "It's Too Late" by Carole King or about falling into love like "Fallin' In Love Again" by Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds. I'll also add "Lotta Love" by Neil Young, since I've been digging his music lately.
Back in the day, love songs did mot even reference sex. It was all about the feeling of love

The brothers Gibb. Only Barry left. The Bee Gees consisted of Barry, the oldest and the tallest brother here, and twins Robin and Maurice. There was also another brother who passed away in the early 80s, Andy, who also had another amazing voice and scored a handful of solo hits. Everyone also knows that Michael Jackson holds the record for most albums sold, Thriller. But the Bee Gees held that honor before Michael did for the soundtrack for Saturday night fever. They also wrote so many hits for so many artists that that is a whole separate career all by itself. But such artists include, in no particular order, Barbara Streseind, Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton, Dionne Warwick, Frankie Valli and I think Celine Dion.
These guys just didn't know how to rest.
My heart is sad, I grew up listening to these wonderful, beutiful voices and people. If my life had a soundtrack, I think I would have to include these guys.
The first album I listened to in it's entirety was the soundtrack to Grease, by none other than these guys. It's these voices that instilled a love for music and composition and lyrics in me.

I feel really old watching folks born after 1990 watching the Bee Gees for the first time.
This is timeless music.
Nobody had the purest of harmonies like the three brothers Gibb. Still one of the most beautiful songs ever.
These guys reinvented themselves each time a new type of music came out...they also changed continents when they felt they needed a fresh audience...they have sooo many hits...🖖🏻🇨🇦😊
They had a brother Andy who was good also he passed at a young age

1988 heart issues. Only 30. Maurice died in 2003, quite suddenly. Robin died of cancer in 2012 and is buried in Thame, England, a village west of London. His burial plot is opposite the 1000 year old house he lived in.

The Bee Gees were everyone’s favorite back then! I remember my mom playing their music from their sound track over and over while she would be cleaning our home.... Now my moms gone and when I hear them it really brings back memories.... But yes they had beautiful voices and perfect songs... They were one of my all time favorite... I’m glad you played them.... These three brothers voices blended perfectly in a way that only a family can. Tragically only one brother Barry is still and his last album "In The Now" was released on October 7, 2016.

Yes Barry is still alive in Miami Beach. My sister use to date Barry's son they're such a great family. So sad the other brothers are gone way too soon. RIP Maurice and Robin and don't forget Andy left us years ago 🙏

@@THEJAYYSHOW Bee Gees are a British Band and they are 3 brothers, the lead singer who has a high pitched voice is the oldest, his name is Barry Gibb and the other 2 younger brothers are twins and are sadly now dead are the exact same age, the one with the beard is Maurice Gibb and the Clean Shaving one who many people say is the best singer is Robin Gibb.
This was one of the biggest songs of the 70's.

When this song was in the Top 40 OMG you would hear it constantly on the radio. It was beautiful background music for everyday life.

"Words" is one of the most beautiful songs I ever heard, I love that song.
I remember all of these songs as I grew up in the 60’s and 70’s.
Now they are classics.

Hey, young lady, I LOVE your reaction to the beautiful voices of the brothers. I know exactly how you feel. I felt the same way the first time I heard them on the radio 43 years ago. I was 23 and they blew me away with those silky smooth honey-covered voices. I still get emotional when I listen to the Bee Gees. God blessed those boys with the heavenly gift of song. And, not only were they talented singers, they wrote a lot of their own music, too. I'm so glad you shared your first time hearing them. They have many, many more songs that will blow your mind. Song takes me back to 11 years old in 1978 walking out of the the Kramer theatre on Michigan Ave. in Detroit that night with my brothers, cousin, and friends. Certain songs put u right back in a particular moment.

The look on your face at 1:13, speaks volumes! The Bee Gees were panned by the rock communty for so long. Funny thing is, all those that panned them, were secretly fans of their songs. They would never admit it, but when the song came on the radio, they rolled ("rolled" yeah I'm old) the windows up, and cranked the volume. I know, because I was one of them!
