I'm always grateful for whatever veggies grow, big or small...they're all gifts 😁
I hope your channel blows up big!! You're so much more relatable to us real folks than the other YT garden channels. I just freaking love your aura.❤
I love your garden and your videos, your voice is so soothing and your videos are so much more real and relatable than a lot of gardening yt
I love Asia and her "I'll will try again next year attitude😊" it removes the pressure and there's just the enjoyment of what there is , no crying about what didn't happen. I really like her.❤
Asia, your subscriber base is really growing @ 20.8 K. The best is yet to come.
Nice harvest. Those sweet potatoes will be so tender, sweet and hardly no strings. You will enjoy them.❤
I think your harvest was great, and like you said, it was an improvement from last year! You can only get even better for next time! 😊 Enjoy them!
How did I know that you wouldn’t be able to resist pulling your sweet potatoes? LOL
🤣🤣🤣
That harvest isn't too bad! This video just got me even more to harvest my crop.
This channel feels good, organic & authentic. Your hardwork isn’t unnoticed 🤍
Hi Asia! Gardening vicariously through you 😂 and ❤ seeing Puppy.
Hollis and Nancy's Homestead use their small, thin sweet potatoes to make something called 'sweet potato candy."
They way you talk is so calm and soothing . I pray i can one-day have a space to start growing my own food. This has always been a dream of mine. New subbie.❤
Nice sweets potato harvest...more than you had to start the summer with. 😄 Hey those small potatoes are good for puree. I usually do a quick peel, boil, puree and freeze. I pull it out for sweet potato pie at Thanksgiving, making mashed sweet potatoes and even making dog treats.
Hi Asia! Nice sweet potato harvest. I didn't harvest as many as you did , but I'm still happy with the 6 or 7 I received. I'm like you!😄
Next year will be much better.
Thanks for sharing!😊
👍🏾👍🏾Thumbs Up for both the quail, and sweet potatoes.😋
The tiny ones cut up for breakfast hash potatoes or dehydrate for dog treats. Sweet potatoes are good for dogs. Congrats. I'm nervous to pull mine up.
Those candles were super cute.
Your harvest is much better than mine 👍🏼
Nice harvest! It’s all about growth and finding what works within your garden. Enjoy your bounty. :)
Beautiful harvest ❤
Well done keep growing next time you will be blessed with more❤❤
FYI Adams acres in dinwiddie pulled their sweet potatoes about 6 weeks ago. Adams acres is probably 15-20 minute drive from an estimate of where you are. I hope this info gives you confidence that you pulled them in a timely manner. I absolutely love your garden please keep up the wonderful videos I am living vicariously through you. I moved over the summer and don't have a garden in my new home yet. You're helping me survive thank you. 😊 only a gardener would understand, I miss my garden. thank you for being here in vedios.
Wow!!! You hatched quail?!!!! That's awesome...I love your channel.. very inspiring 😍😍😍
Hello Aisha! My name is Brenda thank you for inspiring me to raise quail.I recently purchased twenty-four eggs and an incubator, and I'm excited .
I love sweet potatoes too. My daughter didn't want to grow them this year because the vines spread so much. She grew yellow ones last year but I prefer the red. You did good! Blessings.
Hi Asia, you may want to go back through the raised bed where you put the sweet potatoes, they go really deep. generally the bigger ones are towards the bottom. I don't grow that way, but my friend does and that generally what I've seen. You did get a decent harvest. I grow in bags because I don't dig, the worms I can't deal with....LOL...I know...gardening and worms go hand in hand, but I can't deal with them, they creep me OUT!!! Thanks for sharing!!!!!
You did good it will be a bigger harvest next time👍🏾
Girllll! You had me running outside to see if I had sweet potatoes! What you said about the curing time made so much sense. I'm supposed to be getting ready for work and already running late. That was a decent harvest, but I feel you. Thanks for sharing!
Nice harvest.
Felicity Jacobs, Cape Town, South Africa
Girl, it's about time! I was like "we know she not gonna wait til no frost!"😂😂 Great harvest. Good job! In those smaller ones you can just throw them in with a chicken that you're roasting or baking a pork or beef roast of some kind and have yourself some roasted sweet potatoes! Those small ones are still a harvest and will still feed you.
Please send fall down to south FL...we're still in 80 ish mode. Love the sweet potatoes harvest. Nothing like those backyard blessings.
Sweet potatoes love the heat and sun. Next year, plant them where you get the most sun. Good job for this year's harvest.
Good harvest! Was surprise that you were disappointed but was exciting watching you dig them up and I was happy for you getting each one!
Put a bowl of water near your sweet potatoes for a couple of weeks to up the humidity and sweetness.
Love your videos…keep them coming!!
Congratulations! If you got more, you must be on the right track. 😊
Still an awesome haul! I’m working on a new way of doing my growing sweet potatoes. My latest harvest wasn’t too great either, but still edible!👏🏽👏🏽😋
Hey Asia!
I am trying to hold off on harvesting my sweet potatoes.
😩 this is so tempting. 😂
Thank you so much for sharing your birthday candles. So peaceful. Happy belated birthday🎉!
Congratulations she looks beautiful with her earrings
Sweet potato nachos are a great use of the smaller ones. Use French dressing as a sauce on the nachos.
Hi Asia, I follow your lead so I will be harvesting mine soon -by early next week as there will be rain here this weekend. Celebrating, your havest and happy that you got more than you did last year. Blessings!
I smell sweet potato pie for thanksgiving
Enjoy your videos Asia! I’m learning a lot from you 😊
Hey Asia. Nice harvest. Cute little quail ❤😊are you sure you dug deep enough. I have seen many other people say sweet potatoes go deep.
That was a nice harvest.
You have such a great attitude! Great job with the sweet potatoes. These things take time to learn. I have never grown sweet potatoes yet so you are way ahead of me!
Good for you! Im a small backyard gardener and have a few tubs and containers like you. I can relate becase you sound just like me! Great gardening. Thanks for sharing.
Save some of those lovely peppers in your green house they already in bags
Thanks for letting us smell 😂. Love your videos and I just found you!
You are goingto make me dig my s.p's. I know that I have about three really large ones. Congrats! Better than nothing.
was so excited when i saw this video i been dying to see these sweet potatoes too
Oh and the vines are edible and nutritious !!
I was waiting for this harvest. Anticipation 😊
That's a good harvest. It was a terrible season for kumara here last summer. Even commercial growers had a hard time growing them. I saw one kumara for sale for $14 awhile ago 😂 some people put corrugated iron about 2 feet down in their garden bed to stop the kumara growing down. Thay get bigger when they hit something solid... apparently 😂
Well done on your sweet potato harvest Asia! I'm a new subbie & I find you relatable & real, thank you.
Thank you and welcome to the channel!! You’re welcome!
Nice harvest Asia🍂🤎🍁
Thanks for sharing. You was still like a kid in the candy store with those sweet potatoes and opening up the candles. Always enjoy your videos and how much fun you have in your garden :) I planted 3 different varieties and 12 slips total and my harvest was about the same as yours. I also fertilized regularly and watered but I think I planted them too close together. I was excited with just having some to taste. They have been on the shelf for 3 weeks so hopefully they will taste good. I saw the luffa trellis and hope you will do a video on harvesting them as well. Mine will need to be brought in soon to finish maturing because they are still green and frost is coming in a few weeks (zone 7b in North Carolina). Happy Gardening :)
Asia you eat sweet potato leaves, great if you stir-fry them and add onions, green peppers and other veggies; add shrimps or chicken season to taste
I'm watching and learning. I'm gonna try sweet potato
Super sweet video. I got real impatient when I harvested my sweet potatoes and got nothing but duds. Plus I didn’t fertilize at all. But oh well we learn each season and know better to do better. Take care!!!
There is always next year. Mine did not do well either 😢
That was a nice harvest. I started pulling my tiny ones after 4 days of curing, baked them in my toaster oven and sampled them for taste. I had murasaki, Georgia jet, and centennial. Murasaki is said to be good right out the ground. I think Georgia jet is too. Both were very tasty at 4 days. The centennials needed a few more days to develop their flavor.
Those small ones may be a headache to peel but will make make great candy yams/ sweet potatoes. And could be used in stews for the winter. I really don't have the room for the crawling vine crops.I have grown white potatoes in ground but those dang GRUBS! So I have to grow them in grow bags.I MAY try growing the sweet potatoes next year lord willing.
After curing in shed last year mine lasted in the house until I used 1 fir slips this year
You need to.put more compost in with the soil to loosen it up. The little potatoes need to be able move through the soil easily to grow bigger.
I like your style and garden
Nice harvest
I want to try my hands at sweet potatoes, however. I may need to wait now that I see what is require. Thanks for sharing
At least you got some I got nothing from mine that was hurtful after 4 months but I’m not giving up
Nice harvest Asia ! ♥♥♥
Chop those baby taters up and add to some breakfast hash. Every year with gardening is a learning experience. You are doing great! Be well.
sweet potatoes can be in multiple layers. Did you go down deep enough? Good that you did better than last year.
I pulled mine 2 days ago and am curing them now. I'm hoping they are ready for pies on Thanksgiving!
Great potatoes!
Hey Asia, I REALLY want to grow sweet potatoes in my small humble garden! I don't have the room (or do I?) but all of these comments about purees and s.p. candy have me thinking that small potatoes can be a garden gift too! lol
I got a tiny amount much less than you did but they were delicious. I ate all of my small ones and only have one left.
Awesome harvest and beautiful candles ! Can't wait to harvest mine, they already flowered. I heard you can juice small ones.
Great harvest 😅
Hey Asia. Nice harvest i’am going to try next year to plant a garden hope I have success
Taters looking good
Good morning hon ❤
And I saw you in Kenya 🤍🤍🤍🥳
Mine were all so tiny! I guess CT is not the best place to grow them
Don't know if you know or not, but you can eat sweet potato leaves. Cook like any other greens.
I love your videos. Thank you for sharing. How many quails can you have in your area?
Thank you! You’re welcome! My area doesn’t have any limits that I can find. I’m keeping my flock to 5 right now.
Test your soil.....too much nitrogen causes leggy potatoes.....energy goes to growing vines instead of potatoes resulting in small leggy potatoes....you had lots of could be great potatoes tho ! Nice job....we are all learning ! 😊
Juice the small ones
Hey Asia, I'm so happy you're going to harvest the sweet potatoes, so how are your going to use them baked sweet potatoes ,yams, sweet potatoes, pies, sweet potatoes bread ,cupcake can wait to see
Hey! I’m planning to bake a few and use some for holidays as a side dish! I can wait to eat them!
💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛
Feed the extras to your dog
I've heard the vines were also edible.......have you tried it ?
👍🏾🌱
What do you do with the quail? They're so cute and so many.
I use them for eggs and meat. They are very cute and because they are so small and don’t take up a lot of room.
Do you have a separate quail growing video? I'm wondering if I could grow them. Do you eat the eggs and the quail?
Here’s a video where I talked a little about them. Yep, I eat both!

@@YellowDoorUrbanHomestead thanks
How can I send you some pictures of my harvest?
You can send them on IG @msasiaspratley or email at msasiaspratley@yahoo.com.
🤎🖤🤎
I’ve heard sweet potatoes don’t care for fertile soil.
My sweet potatoes do better with no fertilizer. Just loose soil.
The leaves are edible from your sweet potatoes. Just cook down like greens.
Sis, that was a good harvest. I’m still in sweet potato 🍠 growing school😂. I still see pies in your future 💚💚
