Can vouch for the quality of UGreen accessories of all stripes. My 100W GaN charger has been through the wars and keeps on going. I also have several external SSD enclosures and USB to Ethernet adapters that see daily use.

Have been great for us. We've been using them in the office for about 7 months for all the laptops you see on the channel (note for performance testing we do use the included charger). I also personally have been using the UGreen Nexode Pro 100w and 65w when traveling and its been great. Finally ... i'm writing to you using their Thunderbolt 4/USB4 dock and its amazing. So all good. I wouldn't take a sponsor that I didn't use btw :)@@saturnotaku

Hi Josh, thank you for a great video. If you had to pick between last year's 14x at $700 (just bought it last week on sale) vs this new one at $1k (current price at best buy near me) Seems a lot of people in the comments have the same question. It seems the new 14 is a better due to graphics and battery but is it $300 better? Foe context I'm a developer by trade and dabble in light video editing

Asus lists the upcoming price of the S5606 as $1,099 and doesn't list the price yet of the M5606. If the price of these two were the same, which would you opt for?*

Last year year I ordered both the 14x oled (USD 699 at Bestbuy) and the 14 (USD 629 AT Walmart at the time). I returned the 14 due to its excessive fan noise and kept the 14x oled as it did not have that issue and was zippy. Happy I did so, also as the new Intel processors dont seem all that. Would have loved the weight of the 14 though for day to day travel purposes.

I'd be interested to know which BIOS version you were using for this review (301 is the latest), if you know. Some of the reviews I've been seeing for this laptop look like it's a fair bit worse in both battery and CPU performance than expected for having near-identical components to the Spectre, which is especially surprising to me given the slightly larger battery in the Zenbook. I read that the first few BIOS versions were lacking some important updates so I'm wondering if that could be the reason for the poor results seen in a lot of reviews. It's difficult to track down whether different reviewers updated the BIOS or not before reviewing so any information you can share on this would be super helpful!

    •  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

I have the 2023 version. Battery is trash tbh, but I have an i7-13700H... So no surprises there, seems like that for a powerful CPU with good battery you need to go ARM, although I treat my laptops as my car so maybe that is important as well lol "I paid for the whole speedometer I'm gonna use the whole speedometer" I always keep my ZenBook in performance + 120Hz

Got this laptop a few weeks back here in the UK. Still has the Numpad feature on the trackpad. But the base model only comes with 16gb of RAM compared to the 32gb in the US model.
My Cinebench 2024 results where a different to yours with the latest BIOS (301):
    Single Core: 97
    Multi Core: 725
I still think there is room for improvement from ASUS with a few more BIOS updates which I hope we will see. Especially compared to HP in terms of battery efficiency.
But overall I am happy with this laptop and it will be a great asset for me when I am traveling.

$1,300 I think is a bit high for what you're getting. Right now for $200 more at Costco ($1,500), you can get their version of the Lenovo Slim Pro 9 that has the i9-13905H, RTX4050, 32GB ram, 1TB SSD, and a 16" miniLED screen. Well worth the extra $200 in upgrades IMHO.

    • @fidelisitor8953

But that's a big 16 inch laptop not a 14 inch one. Also, ASUS has the 14X OLED with the same specs as the lenovo but a 3050 6GB instead of 4050 and it goes for $1,499 retail price. If I were out in the market for a 14 inch laptop, I'd get the 14X OLED instead of the lenovo.

ZenBook 14 somehow still remains the most underrated laptop (not on this channel) in the product segment. And while the price is higher, I'm certain they'll sell for around $500 at some point this year at Best Buy.
It never makes sense, but on Best Buy's website they go on sale twice a year for anywhere from 30% to 70% off. I had a chance to get the 12th gen model for $340, and I found the AMD model with MX450 for $212. Year after year they somehow pull this off whenever they phase out a model. Even the non-open box versions, well under 500.

I got mine yesterday and spent a lot of time with it already. I'm a linux user and I almost see no bad things here: The CPU is incredible, the batterylife is really good, between 8 and 10h, the fans almost never go on and, except for the speakers, everything works right out of the box for me. This was clearly the better choice for me instead of the macbook air. My usecase is coding and general productive stuff.

What a shame that Lenovo dropped their 14" Slim Pro 9i for this year, they could have won the category easily. There's a lot of shames about Lenovo this year, but it's good to see Asus is at least taking feedback from last year's model and improving in some areas. Hoping to see some better mini-LED options in the market for 2024, as I'll be finally deciding on a new model by the summer.

      Depends what you want.
      155h
      + 2X better graphics
      + live longer from battery
      + new processor
      - pricy
      13700h
      + more powerful
      + 1,5X cheaper
      - pretty bad graphic (not for games)
      - cannot work for 5-7 hours away from plug unless you are a linux user and know how to customise you power drawing.
Depends what you want. In country where I live the price difference only 20%, between 155h/32/1 and 13700/16/1 . So, im getting 155h... In states you can get 13700 for 700$ from BB deal or even cheaper.

Just a generic question regarding your testing process on all your test laptops samples. Is their ANY non-biased data reporting source that could indicate the reliability of the laptop being tested or the warranty repair capability of the manufacturer or their reputation for their warranty repair work? Personally, I doubt that. Most things I have read over the years regarding that topic are reports based upon essentially non-statistical owner testimonials. Pity. In some ways that bit of information would be more useful to a perspective owner of a particular laptop than say how that laptop did on a particular benchmark test. Otherwise, very nice review (as always) of the Asus Zenbook 14.
