G14 for the win! Loving mine. The fact that it competes with these other ultra portables, while also being a gaming powerhouse should tell it all. The keyboard is superb, the speakers are superb, the screen is superb. The form factor is superb.
That is why I included it. The Omen 14 would be within a similar category, but I didn't get our sample in time, so it will be a separate review!
@NotebookcheckReviews How good is the G14 versus the Macbook Pro 14 in terms of build quality, speaker quality ?
the temperature is superb also, on my g14 i can cook eggs bruh
@@NotebookcheckReviews Omen 14 has too many compromises when it comes to performance.
It's superb!
brother u deserve more credit for this kind of quality video dude, keep up the good work pumping out these bangers and you'll be up there for sure, trust.
The 2024 g14 is truly an engineering miracle. It has 3K 120hz oled screen with Gsync and the incredible battery life along with one of the best speakers on a windows laptop and it's also so light at just 1.5kg being a gaming laptop . The 4060 config sells for $1600 and hopefully can be found for atleast $300-400 less on a good sale. It's just incredible.
I would say ppl should wait for a sale and then yes it's a great value.
@@alfredoaraujo9294 the youtubers are really advertising the 4070 variant which is just not worth it in my opinion because it costs over $2000 for just a gpu upgrade. The 4060 variant is incredible value even at $1600. A Sale would make it a steal deal
In the UK it’s really bad value unfortunately and I’m not sure why. I assume ASUS don’t want to sell any!
2400 usd in italy/europe for 4060 and 16 gb, this is not good
@@nukedragonx8682 man it really shows how much better US prices are. Like on sale i likely will be able to get the 4069 version for like 1400 dollars and the 4070 version on sale for 1700 dollars
The glossy metal at the sides of the Yoga looks so luxurious 😭 Kinda wish they bring that to the Pro 9 series as well.
Agreed!
Okay, at first i mentioned that i thought i was all in on this channel becoming very successful on TH-cam but that i wanted to see more. I posted that comment a month ago. After watching each video since then, i am now convinced; it will not be long before this channel will be in the hundreds of thousands of subs, and will be at a million within four years.
Thank you so much for the video ❤
Just got a zenbook 14 oled and i looove it. Feels so premium and almost perfect in general.
Congrats to your new notebook!
which model and how much it cost ?
Thanks for the review.
Short and informative 👌
Thanks for the kind words!
I have the zenbook and it is litterally perfection. no bugs, its extremely quiet, no hitching or stuttering, great speakers, beautiful oled display... its like a dream.
It is really solid daily driver!
I've been considering the Zenbook but I hear a lot about fan noise/ heating issues. Do you experience that much?
What about battery backup? Average how many hours it last ?
I have an old zen book 13 that I got in 2020, and the OLED still goes hard, no dead pixels and no screen burning
@@AncientBloggercpu heavy programs run fine Gpu heavy programs will ramp up ur fans and heat it to near unusable if it’s not lifted, I’ve had my wifi card burn once and the current one barely works if not plugged in, this is from the old model though where it doesn’t have as much lift from the bezels, but overall a really good laptop if u can get around the overheating, the OLED is also so bright and vibrant
I love this video! However, when it comes down to last year's Zenbook Pro 14" vs the 2024 G14, which do you think is the better buy? They have lots of similarities and even the TGP for their 4070s are the same.
Greating from Uzbekistan!
Carrying a single Spectre with 32GB+2TB and ditching a similarly loaded Macbook Pro plus Ipad Pro is now a reality for the business traveller that flies regularly. Can't really consider that with the Asus but the 4070 is a big plus. The Mac setup is what I have currently.
There will be pros and cons for all setups ... the apple setup will give you the flexibility of two devices with amazing battery life, but its two devices.
The spectre is a jack of all trades and a master of none, while the Asus will be the performance king-a tough choice!
@@NotebookcheckReviews Spectre 2024 32TB+2TB versus Mac Air & Mac Pro is the shootout you should consider doing for business travellers. Asus is a nice machine but business people worry about the support levels.
could you include the constant load / sustained watt / performance tests in your videos? Thanks a lot for the reviews. Love the detailed reviews on the website!
Well, we have that information in our written reviews; I do not simply want to do a copy of those since I want to keep our videos a bit shorter and more easily "digestible" ;)
I love your accent :)
Thanks for the review too!
haha thank you!
the screen wobble was something I didn't think I could live with. I got the 2023 G14 (7940 and 4060) for $999 on sale at BB (600 off). I don't care that it's last year's model. The gpu has a higher tdp, I can add RAM later on and I'd much rather deal with a high end IPS screen than with OLED compromises. Yes, the 2024 is a beautiful machine - I just didn't think it was worth almost 1k more than what I managed to get last years model for on sale. (I can take all the money I saved and buy a better gpu for my desktop - lol) Excellent video as always.
Man, for $999, the 2023 model is an absolute steal.
I really like this comparison style video. I think it’ll help shoppers a lot who don’t really understand the pros and cons of different types of laptops.
I think another version of this with a set $1500 price point would be great. A 16” gaming, 14” gaming, 16” creator, 14” creator, and 13” ultrabook comparisons. I think focused on things like build quality, performance, portability, and battery life. How much does the extra performance of a gaming laptop cost you in terms of portability and battery life. And just how much gaming can you get done on a Core Ultra or Ryzen APU ultrabook.
Very interesting ideas, thank you for your feedback! I will keep it in mind when planning the next videos!
Great video, and I think the conclusion is that premium thin and light Windows laptops have reached a quality level that gives consumers more choice and better products. I bought the 2024 G14 a few months ago and I use it for office work, gaming and some graphical work (video and photo editing) and it's been fantastic.
This is such a breath of fresh air. Thanks
Sure thing! Glad you enjoyed your time here with us! :)
Can you do the same for 16inch premium as well?
Great comparison!
Glad you think so Mate!
Excellent analysis! Would you possiblly comment also on MSI stealth AI studio 14 2024? Everyone agrees G14 is a stunning and budget friendly 14" gaming laptop but I am undecisive between stealth ai studio and G14.. The bettary life of stealth seems very bad but despite that MSI seems to have better cooling, upgradability, wifi connectivitiy, and similar performance?
btw I heard the Spectre does not include a hub at all, only the pen unless its a review unit
Could you please do same video for 16” laptops? I’m hesitating between XPS 16 / Zephyrus G16 / Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i
Thanks !!
Good ideo, but I might not have them all in the studio at the same time! But the XPS 16 will come soon!
Can you do 90w 4060 vs 90w 4070? Trying to decide between G14 and blade 14 4060 or 4070
Awesome video! Can you do one for best 14" for gaming please 🙏
We just did the G14 vs. the Razer Blade 14:
th-cam.com/video/Pc7LtUbHSz0/w-d-xo.html
The Omen 14 will be next!
Still X1 Carbon for me... But the G14 and Slim 7 look very appealing.
If only Lenovo hadn't killed the 14" Slim Pro for this year. I almost guarantee it's because they were getting roasted for the 14" being better than the 16". A satisfyingly thorough video as usual.
slim 5 14 gen 8 was released last August so maybe we can hope for a release, unless it is official that there wont be a gen 9?
Hello! I own ASUS ZenBook 14X OLED UX3404VA-M9015W. Aida64 shows a RAM latency of 160 ms, which is inadequately high. I am looking for the same owners to confirm or refute a factory “bug” or defect, although this does not affect the operation of the laptop at all.
Hey man, awesome videos and super informative! If you could answer my quick question, I'd greatly appreciate it.
I picked up the 2024 Spectre 14" for $1,129 at Best Buy, super solid deal. I noticed the 2023 G14 is currently on sale for $999 as well. My question is should I get last year's G14 and return the Spectre, or did I get too good of a deal on the Spectre? Please give me your input, thanks!
That is a super good deal for both. What config is the G14?

@@NotebookcheckReviewsThe sale ended for the G14. I instantly provided the info that you asked for, but you didn’t respond. Now it’s back to $1599…
Why did you leave out the XPS 14?
Sir, why you not included samsung galaxy book 4 pro
The 2024 Zephrus G14 quality, elegance, high end gaming ability, OLED screen, graphics, RGB keyboard, sound, super thin bezels, lightweight, super thin all metal chassis all set it apart from the others.
Great review. Which you will think as the best 15”windows?
Well, there aren't that many 15" left in the wild. So maybe an XPS 15 if you are fine with last-gen and do not need a ton of performance. Or if you want something faster, XMG just announced an amazing 15", the Fusion 15!
what about the Yoga Slim 5 14 inch? Its so much cheaper and performs better in the gaming aspect while only weighing a little bit more than the others!
Are you talking about the Legion Slim 5 14? That one is a solid performer, but its a lot bulkier and does not really fit into this "lifestyle" every-day kinda notebook segment.
It is a great contender in the 14" gaming laptop category, though!
90% sure my next laptop will be the Spectre. I don't need a GPU (I have a PS5 and Steamdeck for gaming) and I do like HP keyboards. The build looks to be the best and I love the feeling of a well made machine. Plus the 2in1 nature of it is actually useful when travelling - will use it as a tablet to just watch movies/series on a plane for example.
Great video!
Then you will be very happy with the Spectre, that one simply feels amazing!
Recently bought and I am blown away by all its functions, the premium feel and its incredible speakers (just lacking in bass somewhat) but damn the device is near perfect. Go for it!
Is Spectre good for designing. Planning to buy this. Could you please suggest me
Designing what? For Digital (UX) design is more than fine but for animation/ 3D rendering it will work but too slow. I got the spectre im a XU designer
Love the video quality. Regarding the video, I'm a big fan of the 2024 Asus Zenbook 14 and 2024 HP Spectre 360 for those not obsessed with gaming. The Asus ROG G14 for gaming.
For those looking for discounts on the 2023 models, look into Asus Zenbook Pro 14x 6404, Lenovo ThinkPad T14s (AMD 7 7840U), or M2 MacBook Pro 14.
Thank you! :)
And yes, I wonder what Asus has planned for the Zenbook Pro 14 refresh, it is such a solid notebook already!
I would throw in the Galaxy Book4 Pro and XPS 14, along with the obvious ultrabook King, the MB Air 13/15. There would still be no clear winner, as it is down to use cases and what is subjectively more important. We are at a point where even without the perfect laptop, there are multiple excellent choices, and it is a win for consumers.
XPS 14 is a disaster when compared to the others. Only advantage is a micro SD card reader.
Asus Zenbook and HP Spectre 360 the best Windows laptops for prosumers in 2024. M3 Air is amazing too for iPhone owners.
The Zenbook can also come with the latest amd processor (almost the same as last year's) for 999€ with 512 GB storage and 16gb of ram
You are right; they just announced the availability of that particular SKU.
Could have also included the 14 inch macbook pro.
I'm in favor of the 4060 version of Zephyrus g14, but with only 16g of memory. Do I need to upgrade to 4070version? 1999usd will be a bit out of my budget.
What do you plan to do with it? The 4060 will perform all right, but 16 GB is a bit of a limiting factor if you want to get into heavier productivity or content creation, for example.
Thanks ❤
Always :)
HP Omen transcend 14 is missing in your comparison just to give the g14 a run for its money

The Yoga Pro 9i for 2024 would also be a good candidate for this as well.

Premium 14 inch without MacBook Pro 14, Razer Blade 14 (potentially Alienware X14r2)?
The most premium thing about the blade 14 is its price. I think the G14 is much better.(just my opinion...)
@@dilinaweragama Yeah, and that’s exactly why every premium-priced laptop should be included if you want to determine the best.
The idea for this video was to compare your premium "ultrabooks", and I included the G14 because of its ultrabook-like form factor.
If we would do a 14" Gaming or Performance comparison video, we would, of course, talk about the Blade, a Macbook Pro 14, maybe the Legion Slim 5 14, and maybe even the Omen 14.
Good stuff
G14 all the way!
2:21 full name of game is?
i wouldn't call an ultra thin with 3 usb-c including TB4 'limited'. I would much prefer high bandwidth modern ports instead of usb-a
I guess that is a very personal choice, but since the Zenbook and the G14 offer both, the Slim 7 is a bit "limited" in that comparison.
For almost everyone, just using this as a daily do-it-all 3 USB-C are probably more than good enough!
What about Legion 5 slim 14 oled? Is that a bad choice?
Not at all if you are looking for a gaming/performance machine.
I was just including the G14 because of its super slim form factor; the Legion is much bulkier in comparison.
@@NotebookcheckReviews Thank you for answering.
Quick question, do you think I'll notice that the Lenovo 14’’ doesn't have G-Sync?
I was between the ROG G14 (2023) or the Lenovo 14, but I feel I got the most for the money for the Lenovo and that it had oled.
So i ordered Lenovo with 32gb/1tb.
Just purchased the MacBook M3 24gb 1tb laptop! $1699.00😊
But did you also purchase an Orange?😊
Just get the ASUS ROG G14 if video editing and gaming is your thing and you want a 14" laptop to do it on. Look into the 14" ASUS Zenbook Duo if you want a fancy dual screen feature. If you want a 14" laptop that can do a lot of batch processing and can edit ProRes videos, get a MacBook Pro with M3 Pro or M3 Max chips in it.

Nice! I really liked that one, they nailed the look and feel part!
Planning to buy Spectre ... Do you find any faulty issues...Do you suggest buying this laptop or Macbookpro
@@syedmohdfaize7813 the laptop looks and feels really premium, the hinge although is very rigid but sometimes when I lift the laptop up in a hurry it just slips and opens upto 180°, sometimes its hard to open with one hand because you don't get the space to stick the finger and lift it up and for the touchscreen part which I thought would be useful to me(I have not yet felt the need of using the pen it's still in the box), personally it is not for me I really dont need it, battery life is very good, keyboard has a nice click, speakers are good, peformance is decent enough, the price is really for the premium built of the laptop, it is a very good day to day laptop and if you are not looking for specifically a 2 in 1 or not an artist you should go for g14 or a mac. If it doesn’t work, I’ll just return it. if you’re a student like me, you’ll only need CAD for a couple semesters. if you buy a laptop with a dGPU your battery will not last that long. Interesting, we did not have any problems, and we tested two different systems ...
X360
In terms of chasis, keyboard performance/price Slim7 swipes the floor.
G14 has more bass but slim7 sounds truest, the high prequency sound better on slim7. Easily the best window speaker so far.
Slim7 is also has a 2 in 1 option and still the best in performance/price 1100$.
You can get an Asus Zenbook Pro 14 Oled Touch display loaded with a RTX4070, i9 13gen, 32gb DDR5 and a 1T SSD for $1600 (in the US). Why would you even bother considering this lineup at this price range??
sadly, none of these laptops can upgrade RAM
Yeah, that's a problem, especially for th Asus ROG Zephyrus G14, as that is locked to 32 GB at most, which may not be enough for some users, but that's the most you can get with it...
The HP Spectre 14 would be my pick if I didn't need a dGPU or were doing ultrabook type tasks, followed by the Razer Blade 14 if I did.
The Core Ultra chip has LPDDR5X, which is not made in modular form. Most of us want the fastest and would not want downgraded RAM just for upgradeability. 32GB is enough for the vast majority of users.
