Good comparison, but the Mustang really should have been awarded one point for significantly better outward visibility. Curiously, the Camaro was awarded half a point for a rear view mirror which only partially compensates for a significant deficiency - inherently poor outward visibility. Front and side visibility still suffer due to large A and C pillars and a low roof line. Scored accordingly, the Mustang actually pulls ahead.

Not only that but the implementation is weird. I test drove one with this and the mirror cam does not mimic a mirror quite right. Feels weird and disorienting. Luckily you can turn it off.
Bro I drove the 5th gen from 2010 to 2018 when the the 6th gen came out then got a 6th gen and if you cant see out of the camaro you're a women that can't use mirrors and I'm 6'6" so I have limited mobility in both cars
honestly visibility really isn't a big deal. You can get used to it after a while
I’m starting to get tired of people criticizing the Camaro for its viability. ITS A MUSCLE CAR! It’s meant to look mean and aggressive. And many Camaro owners will tell you it’s something you end up getting used to.
Overall, this is a very good review, I really like the way you use the split screen so that the viewer can make a direct comparison between the items that are being reviewed. Nice job on that.

If you give the Camero an extra point for the rear styling for the larger spoiler (which is an opinion), then you can also give the mustang an extra point for the sequential turn signals.
In my opinion, bigger wheels is not a plus. They're heavier, easier to damage on a pothole, and the cost of replacing a wheel or tire is higher.
The spare tire on that mustang costs 500 $ I dont know if the mustang wheels would be cheaper bud.
Their both aluminum bud , did not you see the 500$ price for the mustang's spare tire? I know fords are built cheap but that's highway robbery.

I own a 2019 mustang Gt black accent pack with the 410 package and I got the heated steering wheel I can say this it’s a really fast car & at the same time it’s a great daily driving car . The display on my dashboard it’s super personalized and great

They are both really good cars. The biggest difference is engine design the camaro has the reliable pushrod V8 proven reliability you don’t have to be afraid to floor it at all. But the mustang if you want it to last dont floor it too much they are not as reliable a friend of mine got a 2018 mustang gt and has had nothing but problems it started leaking oil and went into limp mode had it towed twice now the motor is being replaced. And people that are putting turbos or super chargers in the mustang especially the 5.2 are having catastrophic engine failures the 5.2 can not handle boost.
You forgot the visibility test
A very good point, I drive a 5th Gen Camaro, at first the visibility seems terrible, after driving it for a while it's much better.
I have driven a 2016 for 10k miles, no issues seeing out of the car. Its a overblown BS reason to not like the great 6th gen over the POS stang

Both cars have their advantages but as a Camaro guy, I would have to go with the Mustang. I prefer cars I like immediately vs cars that have to get used to trying to like. That Mustang looks modded from the factory. The Camaro is starting to look more and more like a rental car with each change.

Chevy guy here but I like the way the mustang looks better than the camaro. However, you were right when you said that camaro looks very good in person I was driving down the interstate when I saw the the new camaro on my rear view mirror man that thing looks mean and beefier and I think it’s growing on me. Also the camaro has more features so I’ll pick the new camaro over the mustang two great cars and a great vid
I have to agree. I find myself doing double takes when I see Mustangs but took a trip while at the car rental waiting had no idea I walked right past the 2019 Camaro. Chevy needs to steal some of those Ford guys.
Nah saw a new Camaro a couple days ago. Still looks ugly I mean no headlights and a HUGE grill. It doesn't even look like a a car. Definitely not mean
I’ll be getting a 2019 Camaro 2ss and replacing the ugly front end with the ZL1 front fascia for around 1.5k. Am in love with that ZL1 front end. It’s mean af, especially in black.

Chudi Frank, personally, I’m not a huge fan of the front of the new mustangs. I think the older mustangs look way better in the front, just my opinion though.

As a Mustang owner, I really do wish it came with a 19 or 20 Gal fuel tank instead of the 16. It definitely feels like I fuel up more since it is my daily. I wish you would go into detail about the shortcomings of both cars as I am not aware of the Camaro's but as for the Mustang there are several. One if the engine tick, the other is the aluminum shift forks on the manual to name a couple.
The Camaro’s short coming was the visibility but the rear Camera fixes that.
Ford for some reason decided they needed to make their own manual till you get the GT350.
The SS uses a tried and true Tremec.
Mustangs also have the engine blowing in normal conditions on the 18/19. Wonder if they pushed the the technology to its limit?

I just drove both today. Hands down, the mustang is much higher quality car. The ss which was my favorite going in seemed very cheap to me. I was extremely disappointed. I kind of had my heart set on an ss

Just traded in my 2017 Mustang GT, The rattles and noises the interior makes was terrible. Never had any rattles in my 2016 Camaro that i traded for the Mustang to begin with. I'm now
in a 2019 2SS and it's by far a better overall machine compared to the Mustang. I enjoyed some parts of the Mustang more, but not enough to keep me in it.

I test drove a 19 performance pack gt manual and a 18 1ss manual and the camaro felt more sporty than the stang even being a base car. The suspension was set up way better on the camaro which is immediately noticeable on turn in. The manual transmission on the stang is garbage with the weird springy clutch feel and rubbery feel when shifting gears. The camaro has a linear clutch and an almost mechanical feeling manual transmission.
Both cars felt about the same in terms of acceleration. If you’re like me and want a stickshift v8 car, go for the camaro. Save up a little more and get yourself a 1LE.
The edge to the Camaro for reliability. The Mustang is showing to have major issues with engines and manual transmissions blowing up.
So no points for better storage in between the seats and infront of the gear lever ?

The category of "pony car" started with the Mustang. Then came the Comaro. Mustang looks like it always has, where the comaro tries for the hard edge transformer look, which sacrifices visibility for looking tough. Personally, I would rather see what's around me. They would both give euro rides a run for their money. I think the Mustang is a more practical car over all. Not to mention the Mustang out sells Camaro 10:1 in Europe.
I love mustang, always have, but it's really just going to come down to which style suits you, the Camaro to me is mysterious. Which I love, I love not being able to see out of the Camaro lol, both cars are amazing

In the future when you compare sports cars, how about a best 2 out of 3 1/4 mile drag race, top speed test with one camera toward the road and another one showing the speedo. Also speed needs to be in mph not kmh, we’re in the USA not germany. Other than that, great video and say all this with the utmost respect

I have a 2018 Camaro SS2, and love it. The Mustang is great to, but just like the look and the old school push-rod better. The visibility is not a problem at all. Heard alot about it before I bought it, but really dont see the problem.

I still think the non performance pack Mustang is a bit plain looking. The performance pack makes a huge difference and I think that is a better option than the premium package if you could only choose one or the other.
Camaro all the way! On top of this (specific, well done, but somewhat opinionated) review, professional performance drivers tested these exact models (same day, same tires, same track, both autos & drivers alternated cars). The ss owned the gt on the track & the strip
The typewriter tick issue with the Mustang is enough for me to not consider buying one. Ford needs to get on top of that issue ASAP.

You should have compared both models completely optioned out for a more apples to apples comparison rather than awarding points to the Camaro for options that the mustang can actually have. Most people either buy base versions of these cars or they go all out with everything. There arent too many in between.
MUSCLE CAR GUY HERE, although neither of these look like a true muscle car anymore seeing the new camaro here and in person I must say its has the worst design out of any camaro or mustang.
I’ve owned both, they’re both sexy looking cars but the Camaro feels like a nimble sports car, the mustang feels like a 5th gen Camaro, which to me felt like a truck.
You gotta rev the mustang all the way up to damm 7500rpm to get the full 460hp. Unlike the camaro the full 455 kicks in at 6000.
Camaro is making over 400lb-ft of torque @ ~2000 rpm all the way to redline.. the mustang hits that number @ ~5500 rpm... that is huge in a race starting below 40mph... dont just go "MoRe RpMs=MoRe BeTtEr".. its the power AND torque curves that count
The mustang fuel economy is actual and the coyote is a way more efficient engine for the fact that it gets it's gas mileage rating WITHOUT computer tricks!! "GM cylinder deactivation"
My '19 SS is getting an observed average of 24MPG per the onboard computer, and that is in a manual transmission car with NO cylinder shut off.
Chevy fire your design team. Get the people that designed the new Vettes to design the Camaro body.
I liked the 70's body style, maybe they should have went more in that direction, but with some similar styling to the new Corvette like you said.
As usual great comparison. I am a Ford guy but the interior of the Camaro, although not the most practical is the more appealing especially the center stack. Yhe Camaro seems to have more overall features as well.
But the Mustang had a slightly more smoother ride and better overall visibility in my opinion.

i agree with this comparison but i think that the radio will go to mustang because have a better punch and an easy way to use and understand interface on the radio, the visibility will go to the mustang since the camaro visibility you need to get use to it, i drive both car before (i dont own one but and planning to get a Mustang soon unless i get a Camaro for a good price that change my mind) and i feel more conformable to switch lanes on the mustang that on the Camaro and i will not give point for fuel economy because if you are concern about fuel economy you are buying the wrong cars get then a Ecoboost or a 4 cylinder Camaro in that case, so at the end will be a close one but the mustang will have 8.5 vs 7.5 the Camaro.
Gotta say, not bad. I own a 2019 2SS and my friend owns a 2019 Mustang GT. Love them both. But Bowtie til I die.
I guess it's fair to give the Mustang the edge when it comes to trunk space....but I wouldn't buy muscle cars for the trunk space!! Still a loyal Camaro guy.

The Mustang has a smaller gas tank and not as good gas mileage as far as reliability both are pretty reliable,not a fan of cylinder deactivation on the Chevy's,that there only weak point.
After having my way with that gawdy as hell '19 camaro (no it doesn't look better in person. almost wanted to throw up seeing it. What the hell was GM thinking??), and the '19 mustang...i went with the mustang. It is far superior in every way. Especially when leaving the slowmaro's behind on the track.

Never thought I’d say this but me and my buddy both got ford mustangs 2017 and 2018 both took a shit in the oil pump and cam phaser . First bad experience I’ve ever had on a car

Ive had 3 mustangs and 2 camaros in the last 3 years. I prefer the camaro, however the coyote's sound so much better.
I am on my third mustang GT now. The 2018 Coyote engine has ticking issues. By changing from a steel sleeved cylinder wall to a plasma coated cylinder wall they created ticking issues. Ford messed up a great car by trying an unproven technology in order to save a few dollars. I would get the Camaro, and not have to deal with the engine issues.

you get a tremec 6 spd in the camaro SS (same as gt350), but a janky mt-82 in the GT.

Majority of people wanted automatic my ass. If the Camaro or Mustang that I’m looking at doesn’t come with a manual. I ain’t getting it. Period. I don’t care if the automatic is faster. The driving experience comes from the manual transmission. Nuff said.

You left out weight, which always seems to get ignored on muscle car comparisons. Yet, weight and size is the biggest problem on American muscle cars when it comes to performnce and can be the #1 factor to make one car significantly better performance than the other when they are so evenly matched.

Yesterday (Dec 19) I picked up my Riverside Blue 2019 2SS. It's absolutely fantastic and I did a months of research of both the Mustang and Camaro. I've driven both and I was really leaning towards the Mustang until I found more and more youtube videos about the Mustang V8 tick (piston slap). There are just too many instances of that issue. No way was I going to plop down nearly 50K and gamble on the engine. I haven't heard of any reliability problems on the Camaro. I love my new car :)

Ill take a stang its quicker the premium wheels i believe are nicer (20s),digital dash, magneride and some extra safety features, and visibility. Camaro refresh is def nicer in person than of the pics i saw and i like the interior trim. Bigger fan of the 18 2 ss

Torque gap on Stang, can be corrected with an equal length headers w/2.5" collectors on it. DOHC motors love long tube headers, and runn WAYYY harder.

Most bias review ever. Almost every advantage the Camaro was given he only awarded .5 points making it climb slowly even though he labeled the car superior in that section. But if the mustang got even the slightest advantage like 1 additional package, full point? And in the beginning he said the price difference because he ain’t including the exhaust but if the mustang owner wanted that exhaust, HES PAYING that $1000+ for the exhaust so the cars literally started equal! And btw there is so much more in that 2ss package he didn’t include.
