I just made this decision. After 15 years with my 350Z is was finally time and I was looking at the GT and LT1. Both all black with black leather and black rims with big tires... Bought the LT1 it handled better and the acceleration was clearly better. I felt the Mustang was floating/sloppy on aggressive turning. Loved the cockpit of the Camaro
I was waiting for the new subaru wrx but it was a flop so I went and got the LT1 as well vs the mustang due to it feeling more like a driver's car as opposed to a cruiser. The handling is amazing and fits my driving style so well.
I felt like the Mustaang was really slow too, but you have to push it to half throttle immediately and it will go as fast as the Camaro. If you put it in sport mode it feels a lot faster without having to push it. Men can't fit in the Camaro either. You need to be really little and feminine.
No mystery about the sales numbers. The Camaro 6th generation cost a lot more. I know because I was cross shopping for years. And honestly, it's worth it. Ford cheaped out on a lot. The very reason the LT1 was made was to make a Camaro cheap enough to compete with Fords budget models. It's a little too late but that's basically the reason. I've owned several Mustangs and I now have a 1le after having a PP1 2016 GT. The Camaro chassis is light years ahead of Ford! The driving dynamics are night and day. People always complain about visibility, but I literally know women 5'2 that drive the Camaros without complaints.
@@vinny1028 I'm not talking about the budget LT1 model. They made that to compete with the cheap Mustangs Ford produces. Facts. I had a Mustang for years and Ford cheaped out on a lot. The chassis is the biggest thing, but if you want to be more technical, the handbrake from the 60's, the rear brakes not being anything more than what they put on Ford Fusions, the lack of any major coolers for most of the performance components that are non critical. The list goes on. Let's focus on the transmission as a week point. The put the cheapest transmission and clutches in the Mustangs for years. And I was referring to the models that count and not the base models. I'm talking about 1le versions and track packages. Ford didn't make a proper track package until the Mach 1 handling package and I still have doubts about the engineering. I can go on for days about what they cheaped out on. And you can typical go to a Ford dealership and get a lot heavier discount that you can with any Camaro.
@@backnu that's a really good way to put it, I was going through the whole process of buying a car and was gonna get a GT since I had an Ecoboost prior but once I drove the camero I instantly could tell the quality difference in every way. The LT1 comes with alot more standard performance and creature comfort stuff. I've currently got a stock NPP exhaust but I'm debating on getting exhaust cutouts. Especially after I seen the cutaway of the NPP. It seems like it goes to straight pipe when In sports mode but it's got perforation at the beginning that goes into the muffler so IDK what to do
Mustang has a beautiful engine but the camaro is a complete performance machine with handling and braking to compliment the acceleration. I drove a base GT and it was fast but it felt "floaty" to me, like they prioritized ride quality over handling. Felt more "American" while the Camaro drives more like a German car dynamically. Stang is a Pony car while Camaro is a sports car.
yep but tbh the mustang is crap..the camaro has a way better motor and a million times better chassis and suspension..test drive both back to back and you will not buy those pos mustangs. i owned an s550 for a year..hated the thing in the end..so many things wrong with them i could spend a week posting my thoughts
@@isaachunt5799 l always hear ppl comment how crappy mustangs are....yet mustangs sell so many more that the camaro is being discontinued. Fanboy much🤔
@@lonnie9148 much cheaper and chicks like them. pos car i wouldn't have another s550 if you gave me it.. in the top 3 of the worst cars i have ever owned.. colossal heap of excrement
I have driven lots of cars! & your description of the mustang base 5.0 being “floaty” totally agree with you. I own a white w/black rims 2020 2SS! With my esthetic pickiness, I can’t do the LT1! It’s looks SOOOOO CHEAP from the front end! It would be like owning a V6 charger/challenger with a Hemi engine! 🤷🏽♂️😂😂😂 I LOVE MY 2SS it’s soooo worth it to save your $$ & not get the LT1! Fully specked out it’s the same as a base 1SS Camaro! 🥂👍🏽🙇🏽♂️
Love my 2018 2SS!!! Great car from day one!!! Visibility isnt a real issue either. You can see fine and the rear view camera is great too. It just comes down to preference as the FORD Mustang GT has been a great car as well for years. Classic rivalry.
You can’t go wrong with either one. You do get a little more in the Camaro if you are comparing base models. It cost more to build the Coyote engine than the LT1. Not a big deal if you are leaving them stock but if you are adding boost the coyote is leaps and bounds better than the LT1.
Agreed brother if you’re planning on doing serious mods, you can’t beat the coyote but when comparing head to head out the door value, the LT1 has to take the cake. Appreciate the comment!
Agreed but when you're on average saving 7k if you're doing everything but the tuning that's still a lot of extra go fast stuff over a stock mustang maybe that's just me I love both cars but for the money camaro wins starting out later on put a coyote and a tremec in a crown vic for a fun Lil 4 door
Good evening and great video, very informative particularly for me as an Englishman. I've recently imported a 2019 Camaro ZL1 in black and couldn't be happier (possibly in love) with the car. I was fully aware of the visibility issues and the posibility of a slightly bumpy ride before I searched for one to bring over, although I don't find the car particularly uncomfortable for one that handles so well. I would describe it as an extremely competent car that most drivers would struggle to find the limits of. From a personal point of view, I'd say it's honest presentation of itself is refreshing, it's very fast, very loud and very exciting to drive. It's the only car I've owned that draws attention from kids to teenagers to elderly people, of all descriptions, who want to chat about it. I know the era of alternative power sources is upon us and indeed has to come, but I would like to keep my 'end of an era' muscle car as a snapshot in time. Although, the henessey 1000hp Exorcist version does look very exciting....
Be VERY careful spending money with Henessy Performance. Lots of customers are unhappy with them, some are even suing. Make sure you read around about them.
@@Just_Vibing_Bro The Mustang is ok, but if I had to give up my Camaro for whatever reason, I think I would be looking at the Challenger scat pack, with stick.
Good Video! Back in early 2020 when I was test driving The GT and LT1 it was very hard for me to choose before I chose the LT1. I did not drive a Mustang with the stickier tires like the one in the video but what won me over when I bought the LT1 for me was driver position, comfort, Dual mode exhaust with the crackles and pops and how well it did on the curves. These cars have so similar times 0-60 and quarter miles on a drag strip for example its pretty much pick what you like base on features and looks. When you get sticker tires on your camaro I would like to see how you compare it to this GT with its summer tires.
Thanks for the comment! I’ll 100% make that video once I get the tires. And I agree, the driving position is far superior in the LT1 and it’s not close. That’s probably my least favorite part of the mustang.
3:05 Super minor correction, but you can actually get the black front splitter / black side skirts from factory. It's just a package upgrade. Part of what's cool about the LT1 is you can keep it base at 35k, or throw on tons of different packages GM offers from factory. I like it because you can pick and choose what goes on it instead of needing an entire trim level upgrade (which may include stuff you don't want, but still pay for).
Ahh okay gotcha. I personally wouldn’t put any options on the lt1 outside of the NPP because at that point, it probably makes more sense to spend the extra $3k for a 1ss, where you’d get better brakes and tires, wider rims, more aggressive styling, added cooling, etc.. thanks for the comment!
People still think it’s a v6?! It’s been almost 2 years since the lt1 came out they should’ve learned by now haha thanks for the comment brother hope you enjoy the car!
Thanks for the comment man! I’ll always try to find good value vehicles to review haha maybe mix in something really nice here and there as well if the opportunity comes up!
I’ve been a Mustang guy for over 30 years. My wife bought an LT1 last year (with my support 😉) Freaking love that car. Black on black rims. Hauls ass. You can’t go wrong with the Camaro.
Great Review, best comparison between the base Camaro LT and the base Mustang GT I have seen, I aprecite that your actually puttitng the cars thru there paces at speed .I like the connection and just overall raw drivinmg experience the Nustang brought, the Camaro seems more percise and just a more sorted chassi to add up to a thrilling driving experience and just a better overall sports car, In the end you cant go wrong either way, Both cars will put a smile on your face and they will fill that need for speed, That Mustang was rock and rolloing while the camaro was just business with his run, I like them both !l
Thank you for your comment and support it’s really appreciated! Both cars are seriously exciting in all aspects so it’s really all about preference. The LT1 won me over simply due to the price and standard features. The sharpness and handling was just icing on the cake. Thank you again!
I never understood why people who have muscle cars hate on others I personally love all of them and love when people get along instead of bringing down their hard worked earned car mainly cameros and mustangs I appreciate all those muscle cars
I grew up in the 60s era muscle. I wasnt old enough to drive until the 70s. American muscle is where it at for me. 4 banger rice buzzing is just annoying and irks me.
Because the mustang is a worse quality car and they try to act like the Camaro is worse because they have a bigger fanbase. Mustang owners tend to literally be the slowest loudest and most annoying. Moose owners starting to be loud too
@@bobbythomas6520 even so tho bro they might be annoying but I seen slot of people group with eachother even when they have the 4 different muscle cars
@@Luis-gn7ln no shit it’s not racism bro? Like you can hang out with other car owners lmaooo it’s just in general mustang guys are annoying because there’s so many of them and their quality is to it’s core average at best. I find Camaro guys to be the quietest but her not every community is perfect
Those are great cars man and I really appreciate your support! And idk about you but the used SS’s in my area are ridiculously expensive. $27k for a 5 year old 1ss with 70k miles haha 39k for a 4 year old 2SS with 50k miles like come on haha at that point I’d just change the wheels, tires, possibly brakes on my LT1 and call it a day.
Great vid man, was thinking about a challenger RT but those go for at least $40k nowadays. The LT1 is definitely catching my eye being cheaper and having a sportier ride as well.
I have 2 AWD turbocharged cars, I started with an eclipse GSX and later bought a Stealth RT twin turbo. With that said, I'm no stranger to cars that handle corners well, and are fun to drive... HOWEVER, my 18 camaro SS is easily the fastest and best handling car that I own. I can also add in a comparison to a 2006 STI that was heavily modified, but that car is not mine and I did not drive it like I drive my own cars.
I had a 2018 Coyote base and now have a 2016 2ss. The Camaro is a much more performance based car. I mean, it freakin comes stock with Brembos on all v8 trim levels. I have the black accent package and ground effects kit. The fully loaded 2SS has much more than the Premium GT too. Biggest complaint for me is the back seat of the Mustang had more room and was easier to get my kid in the car seat. I'm 6'0 and 228lbs. It is very very difficult for me to get into the back.
Tested both ( 2021 ) models ,, Camaro by miles ,, we chose the 1LT in Riverside Blue Metallic, V6, RS package, black package, Premium sound, 20" wheels, ten speed auto with paddle shifters. Rear seating better in the Mustang ( great in the Camaro if you have dwarfs for passengers ). Visibility better in the Mustang, trunk space better in the Mustang. Bottom line, we tested both vehicles with comparable equipment, why would anyone purchase a sports car with a four cylinder engine ( Mustang ) ? The Camaro was definitely finished better, was equipped with a very nice 3.6 engine and priced out at $ 3993.00 cheaper than the Mustang ,, that four grand buys a lot of gas.
Thank you I Appreciate the support! I’m personally still using my first radar detector that I’ve used for the last 6 years with no issues (knock on wood) which is a beltronics vector v940 I believe. I’d recommend an escort passport since you can pick one up for under $150 at this point. They’re a little dated, same with my current detector so if you want the latest tech bargain, I’d go with something from uniden and I probably will shortly. The new unidens are extremely sensitive tho so you’ll be picking up Acura’s and cadillacs from a mile away hahaha but they’re good detectors.
Late reply but I completely agree. I have a manual 2020 LT1 and holy crap even on the stock tires that beast is absolutely planted on those right mountain roads that I love to take it on
Camaro was made to beat the Mustang. That having been said, I think the Mustang makes a much nicer daily. I personally hate the interior view of the Camaro.
Great review! Shout out from California. I love both cars of the Chevy Camaro and the Ford Mustang and I love their very, very, very long competitiveness and rivalry between these two beautiful vehicles. Personally I have recently purchased a 2021 Ford Mustang GT this past January 2022 after having my 2018 Mustang Ecoboost for nearly 4 years, and I couldn’t be happier. Subscribed by the way. Again, thanks for the review.
If you are going manual, LT1 all the way just for the temec. I’ve had two 2013’s and a 2017 and the MT82 just sucks. I know there’s lots of talk about ticks developing in the current gen 3 5.0’s, so the Camaro comes out ahead for drivetrain alone. I really don’t love the interior but that’s a small sacrifice considering most people are buying these cars for the performance.
Ford needs to go back to offering a 5.0 LX model like they used to offer to compete with the LT1. Muscle cars have gotten way too expensive these days, and it's nice to see Chevy offering a bare bones performance model again. We shouldn't have to be forced to buy a bunch of bells and whistles just to get the high performance models...
I used to own a mustang and want a pony car again and I’ve come to the conclusion you can’t really make a wrong decision. From what I’ve heard the mustang is more comfy on the inside and may have better interior quality but the Camaro handles and performs slightly better
I actually took off my summer tires and put all seasons on, i know it hurts performance but if ur caught up in some rain or any kinda bad weather its worth it.
I recently bought a 2019 Mustang GT Convertible with black accent and premium, I brought it to Steeda and now it is very fast. A similar Camaro SS would have cost at least $6,000 more and in short supply. Nothing like a V8 pony car with the top down.
If you are buying a new Mustang with the performance options, it comes out to be much more expensive than the Camaro. Especially if you want a manual, the only Mustang with a Tremec is the Mach-1, the base LT-1 comes with a Tremec. The 1SS 1LE performs like the Mach-1 and the Camaro is $46K while the Mach-1 is $60K. Granted if performance isn’t your top priority, the Mustang becomes more attractive. The Mustang will also be the better roll race car with the automatic.
I was cross shopping between the 3 muscle cars, Dodge challenger srt mustang GT, and the camaro ss a year ago. This was going to be my very owned first V8 power vehicle as well. I made the decision with the Mustang GT manual. Reason is plenty of manual options, had more visibility than the camero, and wasn't attractive for thieves as the dodge challengers/chargers and they're everywhere in my neighborhood. But the camaro is something I want to buy someday and give it a shot too. It's light and nimble, arguably the best handling muscle car on a circuit track. I also own a dodge durango srt for family so I guess I didn't need another dodge! 😎😅👍
The 5.0 100% can be distinguished a mile away from its sound haha I’ve always loved that motor. It takes mods far better than the 6.2 too I appreciate the comment!
Not hard to figure out, Camaro is faster than the mustang. Camaro has out ran Nissan GTR, Lamborghini, Porsche, Ferrari, Hellcat, Demon, and has out run the Redeye on the corners.
Mustang is still better which is the reason it outsells a whole lot more than any Camaro , while the challenger is number 2. Although it’s all about your preferences which make both cars great.
I have the LT1. Its my favorite car ive ever owned. Super easy to build on. But if you throw some 305s on it stock its a beast. No complaints whatsoever. Handling is 10x better. Speeds about dead on but I get a better launch everytime
The Camaro of this generation was a better car in almost every category. Especially when it debuted with 455 HP and 455 torque compared to the S550 mustang debuting with 435hp and 400 torque. On top of that the Camaro weighs a considerable amount less. The camaro should've outsold the mustang but the SS was too damn expensive compared to a base model mustang GT. By the time gm introduced the budget LT1 trim it was already too late. Such a shame. If the camaro had a competitively priced base model the camaro mightve lasted for another generation. Sad times. Both these 6th gen pony cars are fantastic though
Great vid and a solid review. I have always been a Camaro guy but I cant say I dont also love a nice Mustang. Im impressed and surprised by the comments. All are reasonable and there arent any "I have a Camaro so Mustangs suck." It's not a zero sum game. One can have a preference without crapping over something else. BOTH can be good but one is preferred. So, great work on being reasonable folks :)
Thank you brother! I’ve always been a Mustang guy but the LT1 makes it borderline impossible to go with the mustang😂 both cars are incredible 100% so I’d understand anyone’s difference in opinion, but yeah it’s awesome that just about everyone on this channel is supportive regardless of which car they prefer!
I'm glad I have a 2SS. Those LT1's look pretty bare. But I guess if couldn't afford an SS I'd be glad there was an LT1 option instead of being stuck with less than eight cylinders lol
I own a Camaro and it's Krypton green and you should see every day I get comments on my car and kids and grown men and women just tell me how much they love my car such a beautiful car so I personally think the Camaro is a very gorgeous looking vehicle. Oh it's a 2017 even though it's a 6 gen models change so many times already
I think the reason the mustang outsells the camaro is that it's just a more livable daily driver, and most people think it's better looking. Of course looks are subjective, but the mustang's trunk is nearly 50% larger, the trunk opening is larger, it has split fold down rear seats, the rear seat seems a little bigger, it has more cabin storage that is easier to access, has better outward visibility, and feels way less claustrophobic than the Camaro. You sure can't argue with any performance aspect of the Camaro. I actually prefer the low RPM torque of the Camaro vs the high RPM power of the mustang, but the Camaro comes with so many seemingly unnecessary compromises that people have been complaining about not for years but for decades. I owned a 93' Firebird Formula that had all of the same issues. Why doesn't GM fix them? They'd probably sell more cars. It's baffling that they can get so much right and still get so much wrong, especially when people have been making the same complaints for so long.
The Challenger is even better as a daily driver. I think it’s the best choice for 95% of buyers. If you want the best performance, get the Camaro. The Mustang is in the middle somewhere, but it’s very overpriced if you want the performance options and makes the Camaro even more attractive.
Nope, track mode is only on the 1ss trim and up. LT1 just comes with tour, sport and snow+ice and none of the modes really do anything with throttle sensitivity. Not a big deal of course, I prefer the throttle the way it is for a car like that. Thanks for the comment!
The seats on the mustang with power seats can lower substantially. Sat in the Camaro and felt claustrophobic. It was like sitting in a dark cave. windows were tiny. Rear window even smaller.
Excellent video review of two great cars. I happen to be prefer the Chevy, but there is a valid argument for the Ford as the Mustang is an excellent machine.
I love them both. But, the mustang is customizable. More so than the camaro. If you want to get and aftermarket radio unit in the mustang you can, not the Camaro. If you want to upgrade your instrument cluster on the mustang to the much better premium digital instrument cluster you can. Not so with the Camaro.
I went to test drive a mustang gt but was ignored by the rep for over an hour.. they took a copy of my license and said we will bring it out for you and never did lol. ill check out the Chevy dealership and see if the experience is any better, but I doubt it.
I have a 2005 Mustang GT and it felt much faster and tighter than the 2010 Camaro I drove years ago. To be fair, the Mustang is a 5 speed stick and the Camaro was an automatic.
The manual trans LT1 is quicker in good hands from 40 to 140 vs its auto twin the Cam A10. And if the manual Cam has sticky tires warmed up it will launch better.
Joe Raiti would zonk the automatic transmission on both of those cars. So would I. I'm tired of hearing that "autos are faster"...it's nonsense. In a straight line sure, but sports cars are the most fun on a windy road or canyon...and a manual will always beat an auto in those conditions. American young people these days can't even drive a standard...it's embarrassing. Sorry to be negative, but it's hard to take this review seriously with automatic grocery getters as the subject matter. The Camaro LTI is the best choice imo, but it needs the Tremec 6-speed standard gearbox.
Manuals are more fun, but they aren’t ordered as frequently by dealers. When I was buying my lt1, there weren’t any 6-speeds within 4 hours from me, and I didn’t wanna spend way more than I needed to by special ordering. Fun is important but so Is not being broke lol maybe the next car will have the 6-speed..
Lol a manual won't always beat an auto in damn near any condition that most average people will be driving...manuals are being phased out for a reason.
I own a 2022 LT1..Have lined up with Mustang GT 2020. Pretty dead even on straight line race. Did out perform the mustang on road race. Camaro is much better in and out of corners. I been driving performance cars 30 plus years. My buddy in his mustang about the same. We grew up together. We also switch rides. And he blew me away in road race. In and out of corners. Both great cars! I'm not a hater by any means. The Camaro is just built better. Most people buy muscle cars for open road experience. So I would suggest anyone in the market. Buy the Camaro! If you can get your hands on one. If not!!!! Get the Mustang.
People forget that these Gen3 motors are capabale of 1000+ rwhp safely, sorry but the outdated pushrod LT1 engine isn’t strong enough, also the interior on the LT1 is depressing to say the least, the mustang is the better option if you’re looking to do some serious upgrades for strip/track use😎🤘🏼
I have experience with both, and the Challenger Scat Pack as well. I love all three. Between the Mustang GT and Camaro LT1 (or SS), they are very close on pretty much everything. It all comes down to the drivers in question and their preferences. Here's my take: As a daily driver, the Mustang is better. I got used to the lack of visibility in the Camaro, but I like the seating position and visibility better in the Mustang. The back seats suck in both, but the Mustang has a better trunk. On the track or carving up backroads, they are both OK, but the Camaro definitely is a better option. It's a slight edge with the LT1, but the SS is even better. I never had any issues with the Mustang, but the Camaro just feels more planted and has the edge. If you really want a canyon carver, get a Miata. Anyway, moving on, as for in a straight line drag race, it depends. The Camaro has more torque down low and will take the Mustang initially and get 60 mph faster, but the Mustang will come alive at about 70 mph and will overtake the Camaro. The Mustang is faster at the top end, the Camaro down low. I've seen it go down that way and have actually been involved in those races personally. I've raced two different Camaros (both SS) in my GT and beat them both. We both beat the Scat Pack pretty solidly. Anyway, they are ALL great cars.
Hmmm I beat every Mustang GT in my 17 manual Camaro SS...you must have the 10 speed because it's the only one that could beat a 6th gen Stock vs stock...the manual Mustang and non 10 speed Mustangs will not beat an SS.
@@sugerhitman1295 That's strange. I've beaten every Camaro SS I raced. Maybe they were crappy drivers or you're just a better one. I will admit that I always had to come from behind to do it. The SS has more low end torque and always pulled ahead on me off the line, but I always caught him shortly afterward. I have a Manual as well. I'm in my 60s and have been driving manuals since I was 16. There's plenty of racers that will tell you MOST of the time, the SS will come out of the gate faster, but the GT catches him later. The Coyote is built for better top end pull and really comes alive at about 65 to 70 mph. Before that, it's the SS. Both will blow away the Scat at the top end, but not off the line. The reality is these cars are so close it comes down to the drivers.
@@thullraven1 True...but the only mustang I've seen that beats the SS at high end is the 10 speed or modded manual Mustangs (vs stock SS)...all of the non 10 speed stock Mustangs I've seen lose to 6th gen Camaros or maybe they're just crappy manual drivers...I've even beaten modded manual Mustangs in my stock 17 Camaro SS (Throttle Controller and Extreme Contacts tires)....Scats run hard with good tires.
@@sugerhitman1295 I think you deserve credit for those wins, Bro. My 2018 Mustang is modded, but I wasn't when I beat a couple of those Camaros. Remember, the 2018 to 2021 GT has 460 stock hp. That and good tires (mine are great) definitely factor in. Now, it's been my experience that on a track the stock SS will beat the GT if all else is equal. The SS just feels more planted. At least that's been my experience when I drove it.
@@thullraven1 Well maybe I've been racing the 2015-17 Mustangs...hell I can't tell the difference to be honest....I also have a 17 Camaro I4 turbo FBO and tuned with a Spec stage 1 clutch and aluminum flywheel...on a road course even my SS can't beat it. 🙂
I have owned both of these vehicles. The steering feel and handling of the Camaro is so much better than the mustang. It's hard to explain. I swear my wife's Ford focus has better steering then the mustang. Also the mustang has a hard time spinning the tires compared to the Camaro. Speed-wise the Camaros faster down low but the mustang has the top.
I feel like Ford just shat on the Mustang name ever since they put it on an SUV. The Camaro is really tempting, I'm just wondering if it's practical enough to use in the Northeast.
I live in MI, im getting one very soon waiting for it to come in to the dealer. It has a snow /ice mode.. as long as you drive safely you can get around just fine
Camaro is definitely a little bit quicker. But I went with the exact same color and black accent package but with the premium the 401A technology package and the act valve exhaust with the red and black leather interior. had Camaros all my life. Wanted to try the mustang out. Also it doesn't help that you can't touch a Camaro right now because they're not even building no more 2021s you can't touch a Camaro until 2022.
So underrated channel !! Keep your strong work mate! Strange question, but can you tell me hows back seat space are for both cars? Ive got a 5 and 3 years old kids with booster seats and I wanna know if its doable! Do you put 87,91 or 93 octane in these cars ? Im looking to buy a camaro LT1 trim with 6 speed , but I also like mustangs ! 😇 From quebec, Canada
Thank you for the support man it’s very much appreciated! I’d always put 93 in these cars if it’s available since they are recommended for premium fuel. 91 should also be fine unless you’re tuned. As for back seat space, both cars are just about useless for adults, but anyone under 5 feet tall shouldn’t have any issues. I went into the back seats of both of these cars in the Full Review videos, but I’m 6 feet tall for reference and you’ll see that there’s absolutely zero space behind my seat settings. If back seat space is a must, Dodge Charger is probably the best bet since even the challenger doesn’t really have usable back seat space. Definitely doable for small children, but they may start getting a little uncomfortable in a few years! Hope that answers your questions and thanks for the comment!
I didn't read the thread but let me understand this right, you are judging the "handing" of the car by how little it scared you during a single turn in your favorite Mexican B road in front of homes?
To help you understand this a little better I’m judging the handling off of how well the cars can grip high speed turns.. Seems reasonable to me but to each his own🤷🏻♂️😂
Love the review. I totally agree that the 2015-17 mustang better looking than the latest, video and take picture of a newer mustang IDK for some reason it doesnt really give justice to the design itself that's my opinion, you need to look it in person.,before I even said it that the front facia is ugly :) but sureprisingly not to meantion I got the 2021 mustang GT premium and it's really nice looking car not on picture but in person :).Camaru is kinda tempting too. you got all the bells and whistles especially on the infotainment less the price of the GT. If only I did my research things would be different I could have got the camaru just because of what it offers best price. The cost of my GT I could get a lot of packages to put on a camaru the REDLINE, and the Black accent splitter and rockers and still it's less price than my GT :).Oh well it is what it is :).
255 is WAY too small. My 09 Challenger srt8 needed 305s to hook. These are a good bit faster. I would assume it's way worse. But I guess the torque numbers are very close.
You’re probably right man. I personally felt like the 5.0 had slightly more top end than the 6.2, so I believe the 455 vs 460 hp numbers. It’s just gm has had a history of throwing the same engines in both cars so you never know without a dyno. Thanks for the comment brother!
@@WTFCRLT1 Honestly you shouldn't feel 5hp but it has to be a placebo effect(Good job Ford, I'm sure it was intended) because the CamaroSS(and especially LT1) has a better power-to-weight ratio than the mustang GT..
Agreed that the Camaro feels a little sharper no doubt. Appreciate the comment hope you enjoy the car!
I was waiting for the new subaru wrx but it was a flop so I went and got the LT1 as well vs the mustang due to it feeling more like a driver's car as opposed to a cruiser. The handling is amazing and fits my driving style so well.
I'm holding on to my 350z (for the time being) lmao :D
@@alanmoncus2331 it’s a great car. A true sports car, all about the turns and the feel… I loved mine
How do Camaros cost more? The 2021 LT1 starts at 34k and the base gt starts at 36k
It seems like it goes to straight pipe when In sports mode but it's got perforation at the beginning that goes into the muffler so IDK what to do
All that said mustang outsells camaro all day I dont even see them in my area
@@OnePride313 True. But you get what you pay for. The sale more Toyota Corollas than they do Mustangs so does that make it better and faster ?
Mustang has a beautiful engine but the camaro is a complete performance machine with handling and braking to compliment the acceleration. I drove a base GT and it was fast but it felt "floaty" to me, like they prioritized ride quality over handling. Felt more "American" while the Camaro drives more like a German car dynamically. Stang is a Pony car while Camaro is a sports car.
Definitely see what you’re saying. Camaro is definitely the better sports car, but the mustang is still a great performance car.
yep but tbh the mustang is crap..the camaro has a way better motor and a million times better chassis and suspension..test drive both back to back and you will not buy those pos mustangs.
i owned an s550 for a year..hated the thing in the end..so many things wrong with them i could spend a week posting my thoughts

I'm so glad you mentioned the driving position. I've always loved the driving position of Camaros.
Driving position is definitely a huge advantage for the Camaro. Thanks for the comment!
Love my 2018 2SS!!! Great car from day one!!! Visibility isnt a real issue either. You can see fine and the rear view camera is great too. It just comes down to preference as the FORD Mustang GT has been a great car as well for years. Classic rivalry.
Agreed brother I appreciate your comment!
Visibility issue is way overated.
2SS for the win!
The Camaro is too small to fit men. They need to raise the roof and fix the styling.
Lt1 all the way 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Appreciate the input! LT1’s are beasts.
Agreed
Please let em KNOO💅💪🏁🥶
@@arielkolbl4706 lol
I own one it’s fast asf ! Beat a lot of 5.0 and scats
Yeh great cars. Mine is a 17' SS 6 speed. I too love this car. At 50k miles now.
@@null2470 Yep...they have a real bad rep.
@@Just_Vibing_Bro The Mustang is ok, but if I had to give up my Camaro for whatever reason, I think I would be looking at the Challenger scat pack, with stick.
I am currently cross shopping both of these. Thanks for the awesome well detailed review. 🔥
LT1 no question, exhaust pops are the icing on the cake
The mustang doesn’t have the dual mode exhaust unfortunately but yeah, even with the dual mode the Camaro will have more pops. Thanks for the comment!
Nice car, man. I have a 2020 LT1 in riverside blue metallic and love it. People think it's a V6 at first glance until I slam on the gas lol.
People still think it’s a v6?! It’s been almost 2 years since the lt1 came out they should’ve learned by now haha thanks for the comment brother hope you enjoy the car!
Thanks for the vid! A lot of the bigger reviewers only show top trim levels. I like to see the models that I could actually afford, lol :)
I think the Camaro is definitely the better bang for your buck vehicle, awesome review of both vehicles!
Agreed brother I appreciate the support!
@@WTFCRLT1 You're welcome looking forward to seeing more videos from you.

@@WTFCRLT1 My plan to buy is when the market returns back to normal.
I LOVE my '18 SS, I've driven an 18 GT and definitely prefer the camaro. Best of luck to you!
Great vid man, was thinking about a challenger RT but those go for at least $40k nowadays. The LT1 is definitely catching my eye being cheaper and having a sportier ride as well.
The Chally makes the best daily driver for most people. If you want the best performance get the Camaro. The Mustang is in the middle.
Great Video, Great Comparison. I'd Go with the better-looking and more powerful Camaro.
I miss my 2018 wrx sti 🥲
I’ve been driving a 1999 Camaro Z28 for 3 years now and I’m looking forward to getting one of these newer Camaros! Awesome Vid! Just subbed!🔥
They’re awesome cars man I appreciate your comment and support!

What radar detector do you have/prefer?
I have a manual 2020 LT1 and holy crap even on the stock tires that beast is absolutely planted on those right mountain roads that I love to take it on
Just slapped on some goodyear asymmetric 2’s and hollyyy shit
Camaro was made to beat the Mustang. That having been said, I think the Mustang makes a much nicer daily. I personally hate the interior view of the Camaro.
Nicely done and fair. Caveat, I love my SS 1LE, but you gave em both a equal shake. 👍👍
Appreciate the kind words and support! I love the 1LE too I really want a 2023 1le or zL1 when the time comes.
Sounds like a nice upgrade! Enjoy the car and thanks for the support!👍🏼
Very similar cars with very similar numbers at the track. It comes down to which one you prefer for personal reasons.
The camaro is no doubt smoother. GM did a very good job on that 10 speed. After test driving them both it's something i noticed immediately.
Great review. And I just bought an SS1LE. I like it much better over my Mustang
Thanks brother.. the 1LE is incredible haha hope you enjoy it!
Mustangs > Camaro’s 🤷♂️
Ford needs to go back to offering a 5.0 LX model like they used to offer to compete with the LT1. Muscle cars have gotten way too expensive these days, and it's nice to see Chevy offering a bare bones performance model again. We shouldn't have to be forced to buy a bunch of bells and whistles just to get the high performance models...
i just got a 2018 camaro, everything feels great i’m enjoying the car it’s a v6 but later on in the future i am looking to get a newer one and v8
thank you for reviewing the base models
Glad you like it thank you! 👍🏼
Great Review buddy both cars Look great i presonally like the unique engine sound of the Mustang engine
The 5.0 100% can be distinguished a mile away from its sound haha I’ve always loved that motor. It takes mods far better than the 6.2 too I appreciate the comment!
That mustang has some serious curb rash.
Bro how else is the mustang gonna get to the crowds without jumping the curbs?
Even without long tube headers on stock V8 Camaros, Camaros always sound like the tubes are longer stock than other V8s. I love it.
Although it’s all about your preferences which make both cars great.
if ford made a LX5.0 that would be a better comparison to the LT-1 but they don't so not a bad video. a base SS to a base GT is where it's at.
I have the LT1. Its my favorite car ive ever owned. Super easy to build on. But if you throw some 305s on it stock its a beast. No complaints whatsoever. Handling is 10x better. Speeds about dead on but I get a better launch everytime
Did you just do the rear tires? Assuming you got new wheels too?
Cool comparison. Love your videos!
Thanks man appreciate the comment!
Of course looks are subjective, but the mustang's trunk is nearly 50% larger, the trunk opening is larger, it has split fold down rear seats, the rear seat seems a little bigger,
it has more cabin storage that is easier to access, has better outward visibility, and feels way less claustrophobic than the Camaro.
Damn! Dude in the mustang been bashing them curbs with those front wheels
My 2016 2SS Camaro's throttle was sensitive only when the drive setting was in Track mode. Does the LT1 have Track mode?
Nope, track mode is only on the 1ss trim and up. LT1 just comes with tour, sport and snow+ice and none of the modes really do anything with throttle sensitivity. Not a big deal of course, I prefer the throttle the way it is for a car like that. Thanks for the comment!
The seats on the mustang with power seats can lower substantially. Sat in the Camaro and felt claustrophobic. It was like sitting in a dark cave. windows were tiny. Rear window even smaller.
I love both but damn I think I'm sold on the LT1
It’s a tough choice but I definitely agree! 👍🏼
nice review. life long mustang fan but i've been looking at these camaros as my dad is a chevy guy
This just isn’t true. The LT1 has a ton of options.
Mine is the SS with 6 speed manual. My DD for 4 years. I would not want this type of car in an automatic.
Great video man let me know if you want to head to Mexico in the next one 👌🏼

I have a 2005 Mustang GT and it felt much faster and tighter than the 2010 Camaro I drove years ago. To be fair, the Mustang is a 5 speed stick and the Camaro was an automatic.
Those are both some nice cars but the 6 gen Camaro is a whole other animal. Same with the 6 gen Mustang hopefully you can test them out some day!

Just order my 2022 lt1 today !! Can’t wait to drive it
Would it be easier to finance or lease?
The manual trans LT1 is quicker in good hands from 40 to 140 vs its auto twin the Cam A10. And if the manual Cam has sticky tires warmed up it will launch better.
I still like Mustang GT better.Good driving thanks mate
Thanks for the comment brother!
Camaro is a better car really . I didn't like them til they came out with this one for this price . this guy could sell these cars
I wish the Camaro had the same dash display & the much larger center display as the Mustang.
Do both cars have the performance exhuast?
Camaro is definitely a little bit quicker. But I went with the exact same color and black accent package but with the premium the 401A technology package and the act valve exhaust with the red and black leather interior. had Camaros all my life. Wanted to try the mustang out. Also it doesn't help that you can't touch a Camaro right now because they're not even building no more 2021s you can't touch a Camaro until 2022.
That’s how I would’ve wanted to spec the mustang gt if I was to go that route too.. appreciate your comment!
Love the mexican landscape in the background
Dont use the paddles. They make it slowercand are only there for sportiness.
From quebec, Canada
Seems reasonable to me but to each his own🤷🏻♂️😂
Camaro sounds better.
Im pretty sure the camaro 6.2 is rated a hair lower than the vette due to a wet sump vs dry sump motor.
Which Sound is better?
Great video. Thank you for the info
I do like the video dope keep up the good work
I love how everybody keeps saying the Camaro’s faster but there have been a million videos of a 10 speed gt beating Camaros on top end😂.
