Okay, so setting up my RS2 for a corporate gig and, watching this, the main thing I took away was how far you've come in 3 years. Holy smokes man. This compared to your latest stuff is like night and day. Your growth is major inspiration for me. You are awesome and thank you for always evolving.
I have just discovered that, when doing indoor shoots (Like for Real Estate) you can get super smooth forward or reverse motion by using a wheelchair. I happen to have a few due to a former issue sitting in my garage, and realized this. I set it at an angle to my waist and use a neck strap, or even jest strap it to the chair, and you essentially have a super cheap track. I shuffle my feet to move the wheelchair if I am in it, or push it if I tether it to the chair. Absolutely zero walking bounce. (you can pick up a cheap travel chair on the used market for next to nothing, and it’ll fold up and snap in your trunk.)

The ninja walk. It's a classic. We used to have to walk up and down stairs at uni, holding a book on our head whilst looking through the eyepiece of a camera, that trains you real good!
I watch a lot of your videos and even when I'm watching something new that I already knew how to do, it's still awesome to hear someone more talented than myself reinforcing these techniques.
Your English mess-ups are amazing they actually pulled me back into the content it's like a natural interrupt and it makes you more relatable and entertaining! Thanksnfornleaving them in. Amazing videos man love the lighting and backgrounds in all your videos.
This video has helped me a lot. I used your link in the comment section to buy the quick release thing. Thanks for that tip, and all the other ideas and tips how to use a gimbal. After watching the whole video, I rewatched some parts just to get the idea. Wish you well.
Purchased my Ronin SC this month and stabilized it(finally!). I'll be using all of your advice to create some interesting content for my channel. Thanks Peter and keep up the great work!!
I had never used a DSLR gimbal before and bought the Ronin S which took me f*****g ages to balance it! Maybe it was just me.... FYI my new EOS R arrived and I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!
Haha first time can be a pain in the ass (no pun intended). But once you get the hang of the balancing it gets easier! Awesome, I'm yet to try it out but I can imagine its dope!
Some good tips! I think I saw somewhere that when walking forwards and doing the ninja walk that it also helps to angle the gimbal forwards too so it can help take a little more shake out of the movement - whereas holding straight up accentuates the shake and prevents the gimbal countering it...,
Great lesson in Gimbal usage. I don't have one in fact I have a 10 yr old camera that was about 100 when I got it but your vids make me want to get some equipment to experience your art form! Thanks for the video!
This is the first video of yours I have watched - the thumbnail grabbed me in and was just the type of content I am looking for as I'm new-ish to gimbals. Great videos! Definitely subscribing. Your humor is *chef's kiss* perfect. Had me rolling a few times for sure. Thank you for the great content!
Cheers so much I appreciate all your know how 😊 In a recent tutorial someone recommended ditching the ninja walk altogether and learn to walk heal toe like we’re naturally meant to ❤
Sir, definitely the best video about shooting vith gimbal, thank you a lot, it really helps me figure out some shots, which I wanted to shoot, but they didn´t look as great as now, have a nice day
Gimbal walk, = duck walk. I got a Sony A9 and the Ronin SC. Heavy all together. Im 60 and your not (joke). I am not going to talk about any crouching shots. One thing I want to do is get an extension rod to screw in, in place of the tripod extension. something longer so I will have better leverage. Good tips there Alpha Male with the big guns! keep it up. I subscribed.
I've just purchased my first DJI RS Gimbal and I enjoyed your easy to understand, down to earth tutorial! Going out to practice my Gimbal walk!lol. Peace from New Zealand!
Thanks for the practical advice. Like many other viewers, I just bought a gimbal and now I know a little. ore about how to get those juicy shots. Thanks, man!
If I could state onne gripe, it would be that you switch the picture-in- picture with the full size; and sometimes the full size is your example, and other times the picture-in-picture is your example. So basically when we're watching we're e not sure which screen is more important to follow for what you're explaining
I don't know if you are the same Peter Lindgren from Opeth, but if not, I found another Swedish (or Scandinavian) Peter Lindgren to admire. Being of Swedish ancestry myself and growing up in the United States in a very NON-Scandinavian state (New Jersey), I always appreciate the forced Swedish Chef accent, which clearly you are good at. Also, thanks so much for the awesome information. Always love to learn a few new gimbal techniques. Cheers and Rock On!!!
I got my first gimbal in 2024 a used Ronin SC. Thanks for these amazing tips. Because everyone else said you gotta go slow motion and you didn’t. My A6400 doesn’t even support 4k slow motion
Awesome video man. I got a Ronin S about a month ago and I just spent a few days practicing balancing... after that I need a lot of practice. So far I use it a lot to shoot myself for this commercial I’m working on and I picked it up from your beer video 😎 thanks to you this project I’m working on is a little easier. 🍻💪🏼
I was just looking at a DJi ronin s gimbal and then seeing your video explaining a lot of points from how to handle it and what works I was like I need to buy me one even though I already have a DJi Osmo Mobile 3 which I am still learning.
Dude THANK YOU for explaining the manual focus wheel dollying forward. I’ve always wondered with shots where you move forward or back where you’d have to grab focus again- what do you do??? Thank you!
B R I L L I A N T mate, thank you for producing this video. I love that smartphone app control. Wow, that map of the World with the LEDs in it on your background wall is SUPER AWESOME. Well done to you for everything you are doing here on your channel and I wish you every success. I have a Zhiyun Crane 2 & a new GH5 looking forward to filmmaking using these two together. Cheers from Western Australia
Just got my first gimbal (the Ronin-SC) and am so excited to give it a try. Older tech but there are some killer deals on it right now. Thanks for the tips! Will be trying all of these

How about a foldable walker? It is even more compact.
Based on this idea, I just figured out that a spinny office chair is great for pans too!
Better Call Saul moment
My mentor who was the DP for Orson Welles used a wheelchair all the time on his movies
Just got the DJI RS2 and really needed this video! Thanks
Stumbled into this video while searching for video on using my gimbal. So far this one is hands down the best. Appreciate the tips.
Honestly, thank u for actually SHOWING and explaining how to do each move with example.

Haha that sounds dope!
Thanks for the tips. I felt silly I thought just having a gimbal was enough, but practice makes perfect! I got a lot of work to do!

Great tips. Jag vandra mycket i terräng så jag har inga fina bryggor att gå på. Det blir till att böja på knäna och se upp för rötterna :-)
i like your pronunciation. very clear. respect from China.
