Love your channel. You make everything crystal clear, and I don't feel talked down to. I don't know what it is, but there's a subtle condescending energy in the tutorial videos on many of the other channels. I don't know if the content providers are even aware of it. Or maybe because they're trying to be just a little bit too clever, original, or witty. Or maybe I'm just too sensitive. In any case, it feels like you're teaching in a very caring and professional manner, and I appreciate it very much. Thank you.
The sound is pretty ordinary. Some whips and not so realistic, over the board sound effects of the actions. You can find these on free sound libraries and layer more than one sound of the the same action and tweak them a little bit (mostly equalise and little bit of compression).
Would like to see Daniel do something outside of his typical product/food type stuff. Maybe a travel video, car ad, or some type of branding outdoors etc.
@@iaskaterwhos12 He might do that because big TH-cam channels typically mix it up over time to keep the audience engaged and he's very talented/skilled with a camera, so why not see those skills applied in other niches? It's not like he only films products...even old clips of his real estate shoots were sick
This is his thing though, and its more geared towards beginners. It works and he gets views and subs. I don't think working with actual clients is his thing, more just YT videos to make a living. Plus you can learn a bit from this channel and check out other youtubers for more ideas. But it does seem repetitive at this stage, he's covered all of this in the past and is just repackaging it into more videos.

@@lukeschroeder6112 The effect itself was just a cross dissolve. You can do those pretty easily! I just love the creativity that went into choosing a cross dissolve for that one particular transition.

Dear Mr. Schiffer, I'm sitting here on this very day reflecting on how great of a mentor and filmmaker you've become to myself and the TH-camrs watching this channel. The great director Sydney Pollack once said "Editing feels almost like sculpting or a form of continuing the writing process." and I think this video depicted that very saying. Thank you, Mr. Schiffer.
Step 1 is to write down all the objects and items that are going to appear in your video. Step 2 is to write down all the actions that you can do with said objects. Step 3 is to create a shot list around those actions that will serve as a rough guide, and... Step 4 is the fun part and that is filming the video and getting those transitions. Note: A lot of it is done on the fly but this will hopefully make it a lot easier. Step 6: Sound design.
The final result is fun and dynamic! Love the movement and the sound effects. Thanks for showing the process. I am going to shoot something with iPhone, to practice the process.

exactly, shooting in 4k when only needing full HD is really helpful for cropping without quality loss. imo way better than needing a tad better quality 4k video without having that crop-option!

actually, look at the plan. Daniel knows which objects and scenes will be used in advance on paper and just during the shooting he thinks about the editing. If you look at the final product it is then just few zoom in n outs, slowmo, motion blur and sound/gfx. The whole preparation phrase makes editing so easy if you have good shots.
the hard part for me is the smooth handheld work. I just can't do it. I have jittery arms or something...as much as I try, never looks good. I think that Daniel's skill is being the master of handheld action. Brandon Li can use the super long pole to get his shots, and is awesome with a gimble Some are better than others...and they are the pros

The list prior is super important ! Gives you a check list of everything you need ! Great advice
Step 1 is to write down all the objects and items that are going to appear in your video.
Step 2 is to write down all the actions that you can do with said objects.
Step 3 is to create a shot list around those actions that will serve as a rough guide, and...
Step 4 is the fun part and that is filming the video and getting those transitions.
Note: A lot of it is done on the fly but this will hopefully make it a lot easier.
Step 6: Sound design.
Wouldn't that mean Step 1: Get a pen and paper?

It should be noted to shoot a little bit wider so you can do those movement transitions that require a crop. ✌🏼

He doesn't use an ipad, but i do. Lumafusion is the app to use. Doesn't have all the add ins but does 90 percent of what you need.

It's not so hard. Once you focus your object, keep the same distance from the camera to the main object while you're recording.

camera has internal stabilization and i assume he also stabilized the footage a bit during editing

I know this is an old video, but can you comment on the lighting used at all? Was is just that single key light, what light was it and what power? I have the Amaran 100D, would it be sufficient to similarly light a scene like this?
