I love the way you explain all the stuff we need to know. The tempo, the clear speaking, the series of topics. Thank you, and go on with the teaching! 😊
As a profesional DJ for mostly weddings, I work side by side with photographers/videographers and they are so talented in what they do! While I’m late to the party, congrats Emmaus.
Great video. I'm trying to find information on the strong way to connect a gimbal to a long monopod. Can you send a link to a video or an explanation / connector on the subject?
That tripod socket on the bottom of most gimbals is not very secure. If that tripod socket breaks off, because you are using a long pole, and your camera is real heavy, your camera is going to take a nose dive to the concrete. If you are going to use a long pole or monopod, I suggest you tether your gimbal to the pole, just in case that socket breaks off. It may never happen, but it only needs to happen once to lose thousands of dollars worth of gear.
I have the Ronin-S as well. Do you ever get the fast, rapid vibration/shaking (sounds and feels like Brrrrrrrrrrrr-definitely stronger than the 'micro jitters' I've read about) problem at certain positions/angles? I'm pretty ocd about my balancing - but I'm sure it was part of the problem? I changed a parameter in the settings, but can't remember which one (duhhh!). It stopped the shaking, but I didn't continue using it for too much longer, so I don't know what detrimental effects, if any, it had on other movements? Thanks!
Some great tips in this video, thanks for sharing. Now I've got a tip for you: there's no such word as "stupider". In English the correct way to put is "more stupid". At least you didn't say "funner", now that really would be stupid!! Cheers
@10:35 the reason they stick to simple movements isn't because they're less creative; it's because they generally look cleaner. All the gimmicky movements, "cinematic edits," etc. get old after a while.
You seem to be a bit obsessed with doing things differently for the sake of doing them differently. Tried and true methods, including a completely static tripod shot, are popular for a reason, they work.
Hahaha aa yeah the good old Ronin N, Yeah, Best used with a Ready Rig. I found, when you start collating all these tools, you're going t need everything else. Stay Simple my friend.
That monopod looks like it's about to break. People, please don't put your expensive gimbal, with an expensive camera and an expensive lens on the end of a cheap monopod!
"The stupider you look, the better your shots will be." 🤣🤣🤣
That's awesome guys, thanks!

Thanks a bunch for this step by step tutorial. The monopod may not be able to carry all gimbals. Which gimbal and monopod did you actually used?
Does it wreck the gimbal if you turn it on when there is no camera on it?

Using a monopod with a gimbal is super scary. I feel like it's going to snap. But no risk, no reward
