Hello! Can you tell me how to initiate wheel center calibration directly via the GT DD Extreme wheel (via the buttons/tuning menu)? Neither the manual nor Fanatec's official video guide mention this. I don't want to connect the wheelbase to a PC every time I simply just want to recalibrate the center position... Thank you!
@@randomcallsign Thank you, but the button combination doesn‘t work… I‘m on Fanatec driver 457. The video states that the bitton combination may vary depending on the wheelbase firmware. Can you test it and then let me know if this combination works for you? Thanks!
I'm just interested in PS5 because because after using PSVR2 with my old G29 setup... I cannot seem to go for a flat screen. I feel this wheel with my VR2 is good enough for immersion and fun. Thanks for the review.
Good review mate !! I want to make you a question…I have the CSL DD 8nm and I Play most of my time ACC on XBOX SERIES X…do you think is worh the upgrade for the Clubsport DD 12 NM or DD+ 15nm? Did I will notice more information with that base or just for force on the wheel. Excuse my English 😅
I can't wait for you to test a dinagic random callsigns! You know I love the dd+ but I got my hands on an ultimate from simagic and holy crap with the latest software it's insane. It feels so natural. You get all of the frequencies high low and mids you legit can feel the separation it's awesome. I want the most raw experience I can get and this one does that. The wheelspeed is inssne the snap and finding the limit of grip is better then I've ever felt. All of thede bases feel similiar but this one feels the least dampened with less built in inirtia so the wheel moves so freely and is so snappy and beautiful. The center forces are from the ffb instead of a dampening or inirtia dead weight feel. Feels like you can just find more and more grip when. Turning in and then when you go just a little to far boom snaps right back. I never thought I would find a wheelbase I gelled with so much and this is my base. We all have things we search for in feel. This was it for me. Now it does pick up on frequencies like the somucube so sometimes you can hear things but it just allows for more details to come through. Same thing simucube commented on stating that simucube actually utilizes it's coil whine for details. Luckily my simagic doesn't really have a coil whine you can hear it every once in a while pucking up on details but that's it. And me I don't want to reduce that with the smooth ess feature because I want that raw nice experience. It even picks up on the details when at high rpm it matches the cars noise but in feel not in sound but you can feel it matching up with the actual car and what it's doing in screen. At first I felt it may be unwanted but I found myself a day later wanting it when I tried reducing it so now I love that feeling haha. I have so much detail when going over curbs or in the grass I can feel it through my rig. I am in heaven! Sry just wanted to tell someone my experience and I love your videos and lives. We have always gotten along so I love coming here telling you my experiences lol. My bad if it's annoying!
Awesome video, thanks! I have a couple of questions, please: Context: I upgraded to this from a GT dd pro that I had already upgraded to QR2 on the base and to metal standard QR2 on the GT dd pro Wheel. Since the Gt DD pro wheel is nerfed to 8Nm and will never work at 15Nm even with a standard metal QR2, I am going to sell the GT DD PRO base, gt dd pro wheel and the 8Nm boost kit to offset the cost of the gt extreme bundle. Obviously, my first thought was to swap the GT DD PRO wheel standard metal QR2 for the QR2 lite on the GT extreme wheel before selling and sell the dd pro wheel with the QR2 lite instead (since it will never need anything more than that, the new owner should be stoked-i take awesome care of my gear). Questions: A) Before I start tinkering with the wheels and the QR2's I wanted to ask if there's anything wrong with doing this. The extreme wheel will work better with a standard metal qr2 instead of the QR2 lite, correct? I should not be afraid of swapping them? B) When I got the extreme bundle, I upgraded all firmware, drivers etc through the fanatec app on my laptop and I did all three wheels on the extreme dd+ base (CS, GT DDPRO and extreme wheels) to version 455 without a hitch. So, if I now swap the qr2's and put the metal standard on the extreme wheel and the lite on the gt dd pro wheel, I don't need to do the drivers and firmware again, correct? Thank you so much for bearing with me and for any help with this questions, which I would appreciate inmmensely!!!
Very good and honest advice. But I also have a question. I am looking for a higher end wheel and base without waisting money. I can get the fanatec but I don’t want to feel like I wasted money on something that I will only be using on PS5. I currently have the Trustmaster T-300 RS. Thanks in advance.

Thank you for your honest opinions. What I understand from this video; the feedback is swift and communicative. The quality of the materials could be better. The functionality with GT7 should be better (and we could presume should improve over time ... with some hope). The functionality of the unit itself is not fully unlocked; a major feature they are touting aren't realized yet (like RTX release and Ray-Tracing). WhatI would like to understand is what does the torque values actually mean. How much force difference is a 5 Nm vs a 15 Nm? Does a 5 Nm feel like an old Lincoln that can be turned with a pinky-finger and 15 Nm like a manual steering rack? Haven't found a PC racing game that has captivated me. So for me, watching this video; the idea is to find the best wheel that will give me the best experience in GT7. Plan to get pedals, shifter, PSVR2. Family is excited. Looks like if I were to wait a year, supply would be there, kinks worked out, updates applied or ready to install, the extra feedback should be enabled, the wheel should communicate more with the game, etc. If not, I come back and see what is looking best at the time. Logitech/Fanatec seems like it would be the way to go now or then from early research. Being able to use all of it on PC if I find a spicy game would be a bonus. A new day Tokyo Extreme Racer type of game with tons of 80s, 90s, 00s,10s cars would for me be amazing. Old MR2s, RX7s, GSXs, with FK8 Type Rs, ITRs, CRZs ... the alphanumeric soup of cars would be fun to play, experiment, mod, etc. and I try to give myself a bit of that with the Tokyo track in GT7 :p Thanks again; smart to make a PS5 focused video as it popped in home page and the other might not of (as it hasn't).
>WhatI would like to understand is what does the torque values actually mean. How much force difference is a 5 Nm vs a 15 Nm? Does a 5 Nm feel like an old Lincoln that can be turned with a pinky-finger and 15 Nm like a manual steering rack? -5nm is twice the force of a g923. 15Nm is a workout. can be dangerous (torque can be lowered) In practical terms, whats special about this wheel its the relationship between force and speed. its really fast and precise. Its at the level of celebrated high end pc exclusive wheelbases. But this is not enough for a decision, IMO. >the idea is to find the best wheel that will give me the best experience in GT7. Both Logitech and Fanatec will provide really good immersion. While just a bit slower it does have, the Logitech is a bit above in depth of force feedback because of true force (check my video on it) but sadly loses out in terms of peripherals. hope this helps
I have a thrustmaster t300rs which is at 3.9NW. IT'S powerful at start but having tried a DD once at 10Nw. I can say this. Low power like logitech or thrustmaster gets way easier to control over time. Making you wish you had more power to get a better feel of how the car is. Especially in turns. Makes no sense in curves when you don't get the heavy feel. A strong DD wheel will give just that. Imagine picking up a 200-400 gram weight and then 1kg. That's the difference. I think a 4nw is about 200-400gram of weight force and 12nw is about 1kg or 800gram. Do basically UR turning a steering wheel equal to that weight in turns that fights you back.
@@randomcallsignyeah I agree, as a reviewer in a completely different niche… I too would have only compared it to natively supported competitors. But maybe just mentioned there are adapter options.
Ibwas expecting some alcantara. The plastic centre to be atleast leather or metal But atleast its probably the most functional wheel out there by quite a margin. It also has a screen which is epic. I guesd that makes up for the materials
Also ea sports Wrc on ps5 will not work with the new gt wheel for some reason hopefully they fix it. Seems to be a button map issue (no buttons work on the game and stuck at title screen)
it seems in GT7 4-directional buttons are not lighting in the colours that correspond to TC ABS etc. (like it was in hard-painted plastic wheel that was predecesor of this one). Also the movement of these 4-directional buttons looks strange - a bit like joystick rather than up-down-left-rigt. I would expect shorter and more clear stroke.
A very good review with proper communication about the state Fanatec is in. Personally I didn’t had any delivery issues with them , not even my community members that order a product the last few months. But we can’t ignore that there are people that still waiting for there BF deal to be delivered. A few things a want to mention, for me vegan leather is a marketing term for fake leather but makes it look like it’s better for the invironment. In my perspective vegan leather isn’t leather, like vegan chicken isn’t chicken. The other thing is the QR2 lite, many people call it plastic and maybe it is still plastic. But plastic isn’t the same like years ago. It’s more a composite material. Manufacturers add other materials to it to make it stronger. Will this QR withstand 15Nm, like you said time will tell. Keep on making your content, for what it’s worth I’m enjoying it. Kind regards Chris.
My initial one lasted a month before it broke down. RMA it back to Fanatec, lets see how long the replacement lasts. Not a good show for something that cost alot of Money
I personally don't like the look of the wheel. If you're going to spend that kind of money to play on the PS, you could as well get the Logitech PRO. With the current state of Fanatec, seems like a big gamble with regards to quality, support and just getting the darn thing.

Took me some days of fiddling with the setup on same car/track but its not that hard, realy. Just camber.nation the front a bit, lower the back voila done. The only difference is less camber with wheels, more camber on gamepad - and youd probably need to lower the default sensitivity for like 1 to smoothen the inputs while you wiggle your thumb for example.

@@randomcallsignThank you 😉
I can't wait for you to test a dinagic random callsigns!
What wheel would you suggest for the PS5? Money not being an issue but still not wasting money because it’s just used for the ps5? Thanks in advance.
Awesome video, thanks!
I have a couple of questions, please:
Context: I upgraded to this from a GT dd pro that I had already upgraded to QR2 on the base and to metal standard QR2 on the GT dd pro Wheel.
Questions:
A) Before I start tinkering with the wheels and the QR2's I wanted to ask if there's anything wrong with doing this.
Keep the t300
I Like my Extreme on qr2 with csl pedals .
Every sim hardware is overpriced , it always was
Is the rigidity way better with a qr2/qr2pro ? Also what is the heft of the steering wheel as it is with the qr2 lite ?
Just received my asetek la prima today and couldnt be any happier. Will not look back at fanatec probably
UPDATE, DAY 109 still not shipped…
How is it WE ALL GOT the email saying your order is ready to ship from the warehouse SONY is STOPPING SHIPPING.

HAND OVER TOO WAREHOUSE.
Like WTF is the discrepancy HERE
Can you tell us how this wheel works with DD pro wheel base? Does it have all the same features or are some only supported with DD extreme.
didnt try it. it crashed the wheelbase with the DD1, so I assume its the same thing here-
@@randomcallsignwas your dd1 set to high torque? Maybe it’ll work with lower torque because it’s the lite qr. but that’s weird it should just work like any wheel. Is ur dd1 firmware up to date
the wheel doesnt even turn on past a second. wont boot. and yes, latest firmware on wheelbase and Extreme wheel.
@@randomcallsign maybe the PlayStation support in the wheel base makes the difference? That’s why I was thinking specifically for the DD pro
its not the support. its the firmware. theres a bunch of issues that i present in the main review.
hi man, i recieved my DD Extreme in 4 days from order placed 🙂 Can i ask you do you maybe have any recommended settings for GT7, iRacing?
Video this weekend, maybe
@@randomcallsign ok thanks :)
Old MR2s, RX7s, GSXs, with FK8 Type Rs, ITRs, CRZs ... the alphanumeric soup of cars would be fun to play, experiment, mod, etc. and I try to give myself a bit of that with the Tokyo track in GT7 :p
Thanks again; smart to make a PS5 focused video as it popped in home page and the other might not of (as it hasn't).
No mention of the Simagic with the Sigma Cortex Playstation4/5 converter? Works flawlessly!
not notive support
@@randomcallsignyeah I agree, as a reviewer in a completely different niche… I too would have only compared it to natively supported competitors. But maybe just mentioned there are adapter options.
adapters are niche options. the quality of the FFB tanks compared to native. I have a drivehub.
How about as an upgrade to the DD2 which is never set at more that 50% power anyway?
Thank you, very informative.
Ibwas expecting some alcantara. The plastic centre to be atleast leather or metal
But atleast its probably the most functional wheel out there by quite a margin. It also has a screen which is epic. I guesd that makes up for the materials
Would you pick this over Asetek or Simagic for PC? And why?
asetek
are we waiting on fanatec to update their wheel base to handle full force, or are we waiting for the games to implement it?
Games
Hi Random Callsign If you had a £1000 pounds whats DD Wheel and pedals would you get for pc ? thanks for the help James from London
Asetek lá prima dd with wheel and csl V2 pedals
Also ea sports Wrc on ps5 will not work with the new gt wheel for some reason hopefully they fix it. Seems to be a button map issue (no buttons work on the game and stuck at title screen)
what do you mean the wheel is faster than the g pro?
Hi. Can you please tell me how much a GT steering wheel weighs?
it seems in GT7 4-directional buttons are not lighting in the colours that correspond to TC ABS etc.
Kind regards Chris.
the lcd screen is only in legacy mode on playstation. the more expanded version will come later. thats what boosted media told us
Didn't the dd podium launch at that price ?
Hey do you have any tips for FFB settings for GT7
i second this question, please
wheel looks cheaper than Logitech pro lol
it feels cheaper as well. The leather, the stitching and the center spoke feels more rigid. it doesnt have the same buttons tho.
Thank you Random callsign
How can a non fully functioning wheel be rated the best for PS5
My initial one lasted a month before it broke down. RMA it back to Fanatec, lets see how long the replacement lasts. Not a good show for something that cost alot of Money
Yes but we're can you get one
EU has it in stock
I personally don't like the look of the wheel. If you're going to spend that kind of money to play on the PS, you could as well get the Logitech PRO. With the current state of Fanatec, seems like a big gamble with regards to quality, support and just getting the darn thing.
Naaa, will stick to my dd pro for now. With the weight of the mclaren wheel, I'm only running at 3 - 4 torque in game and gives me all I need.
Has anyone other than the ‘chosen’ TH-camrs actually received their gt extreme wheels yet ?
I got my DD+ on Feb 12th (base only), I’m just a regular noob, no channel, no relationship to Fanatec. It took 2 months to arrive.
@@NLGolgo13123 good job 👍 It says available for pre order for 29 February on the Fanatec website at the moment but I’m sceptical about ordering … will probably end up being April or May before it arrives now you think ? 🤷
Lol this is probably the ugliest wheel you can put on your sim Rig 🤮
i would hope it is just a software compatibility issue, i.e. the PS5 games are not ready for the wheel, otherwise it is not acceptable
I bought the GT dd pro and psvr2 so I could play GT7. I found the ffb so underwhelming that I sold the psvr2 and the GT wheel that came with the unit. I’m washing my hands of racing on ps5. There are better PC options.
Take it off peak and put it in Linear
what
@randomcallsign So on my CSL dD on GT7, I tool it off of peak and put it on linear mode, made a huge difference in how the Gt7 FFB work. Now, I can actually use the in-game FFB settings without it twisting my wrists and actually feeling the detail.
Obrigado e boa sorte no canal brah...
@@randomcallsign Se você tinha o Pro Wheel, porque usava o dd1?
my man... Comfort Hard.. lock the diff and if really needed understeer the F out of the car and you will become DK in no time. The camber and toe logic is a bit different from laamepaad to wheel so i will not go into that but im pretty sure if i can do it - simracers can XD Also go into time attack practice or something and just take time. and some coffee or whatever calms your nerves. i suggest suzuka east in the evening with some lenny ibizare. .
Tried that. Dont work.
@@randomcallsign have you even tried Hard enough XD
I promise you its doable. And weirdly rewarding. Hard to explain.
Ive seen top10 world challenge drifters use the d.pad for steering and they were smoother than me on a wheel so... what im trying to say, ive been here for a while.
Look just like thrustmaster GT 2
All Designed by pd, so yeah. That's the reason.
I want to buy fanatec gear, I'll wait two things calm down🙂👍
Buy in summer, still a bunch of incompetent a**holes but less demand
Buy it now, you might get it in 6 months, no thanks.
That wheel is not pretty IMHO. Looks toy-ish.
All that fanateck crap isn't worth it cos where you are it's $1200 but in australia it's twice the price and to me and everyone else in Australia it won't happen sorrryto say👍🍻
It’s crap

Sorry, I missed the endorsement part what was that? I found it very balanced and It made me rethink buying it.
Btw there is a base only version for 999.
He literally says that he thinks its a waste of money for PlayStation, which is the main demographic.
Whaaaat is better than the logitech are you insane is way more better than the logitech ofcourse 😂 are you ok hello
You shouldn't be reviewing Fanatec products, Fanatec should be boycotted!
I should do whatever i think its relevant to inform the consumer of the products including the issues they may incur if they decide to jump the gun. Its better than not doing anything and then having a consumer not informed of a problem they could have avoided by watching this video.
you should understand this.
boycotting necessary information doesnt work and results in WORSE decisions.
Or you could just not watch. It is all about choices
If youtubers boycott Fanatec then how are people new to sim racing supposed to find out that they suck?
@@The_Mup everyone now knows Fanatec sucks! What could be worse than taking your money and then not delivering what you paid for for months! and if you tried to contact them they don't even bother to respond!
