It's crazy they wont sell just the wheel, the amount of people who have a DD pro, that would like to just buy the wheel is probably huge
I was said the same thing to myself when Rory said that. They are going to regret that move because literally every person with a DD pro would buy this wheel for sure but they are screwing us and themselves by forcing us to buy the whole bundle, stupid!!

I literally just bought my DD pro yesterday a few hours before this was released. I have emailed them to change the order, but hearing about their customer service, I dont like my chances

For £1200 it should not be made of plastic.
It does look very cheap and toyish. I guess im spoiled with a dd1 and carbon finer f1 podium wheel. It doesnt look very premium though

The wheel is actually €300. That’s not competitive priced but definitely not the opposite. In the end you will get the DD+ which is 1K alone. If you don’t like the wheel, don’t buy it.
@@tykjenffsIt’s a €100 price difference to the old gen which is easily justified with the Magnetic Shifter and Dual Clutch Paddles, QR2, Display and Funky Switch. All the people saying it’s too expensive actually mean that they won’t spend that much money on a wheel in the first place.

Up until 2 days ago I could cancel the order of my DD+ but now its processing and Fanatec release this for purchase. So trust me when I say I feel your frustration.

Nice to hear your impressions. I like the GT DD Pro 8nm but I ordered this the second I got the notification of availability. Seems like I'll be set for a while with this wheel and base.. And you can always change out wheel and use it on PC too so that makes it worth it to me. YOLO I guess.

If you buy this when you have the dd1 you need to be seen by a Dr, if you buy this and you have a PC then you need more than a Dr

@@gercoffey9873 I only got the wheel, secondhand, a few weeks back. I'm still more comfortable (and faster) on the controller. Keep an eye on Marketplace and you may be lucky like me and pick one up well under market value.
Seeing the asking price of this DD just boggles my mind.

Logitech have a direct drive wheel. The amount of money you'd spend changing ecosystems to fanatec is way more than incrementally upgrading you Logitech stuff
I'm about to move houses and can confirm there is (finally) a rig coming and it seems like this wheel promises a lot of quality time as well as a promise by Gran Turismo to keep developing games and hardware for the coming decade (I hope) I'm on controller for the last year and my ratings are suffering bad. I havent spent my Christmas bonus yet so.... :)
I like watching your streams and will continue to watch your content but this seems more like a sales promotion video than a review. I don't think there was anything negative said which maybe you were not allowed to due to an agreement with Fanatec. I'm by no means saying you need to bash them but it was like you avoided anything that wasn't positive. Maybe there are no negatives in your eyes though being free. This is very expensive for a lot of people and I like when a review is objective, especially on an expensive item. Fanatec is still dealing with some shipping and support delay issues. I was upset I couldn't swap out my DD+ order to get the Extreme with this wheel when I first saw it and your video along with another popular person but when I saw a 3rd review actually showing the negatives to it, like how much flex it has from all the plastic, I'm glad I wasn't able to swap and get the Extreme. I'll gladly put that money towards a better wheel now that I know that even a metal QR2 won't fix the rims plastic flex.
Again, I'm not saying you need to nitpick and have a list of 20 bad things about something, but at least be objective and compare with gear you have or used. You have a lot of Fanatec gear to compare with, everything from premium DD1 base, higher end rims to their budget Mclaren and GT DD Pro ones.
Biggest issue with sim wheels has always been the size (and it being so much smaller in general to real cars). Great to see Fanatec bringing out a wheel fabulously suited to sim driving but with a greater connection to real life. Really tempted!!

Hi Rory, thanks for the review. Can you share your updated Clubsport DD+ wheel settings? Are they different from the GT DD Pro?
Fanatec contradict themselves.
They wanted to release the Clubsport DD+ the same time as the Clubsport is case people might buy the wrong one and miss out. They said an announcement wouldn’t be good enough.
However the only way to get this wheel is in the bundle so anyone who bought the Clubsport DD+ is going to miss out on this wheel because you can’t buy it t separately.
So which one is it? Do you want customers to miss out or not. They need to sell this wheel seperate especially for the people who are waiting for the Clubsport DD+ to arrive.
Appreciate the review however with all the negative feedback pertaining to Fanatec’s delayed shipping and poor customer service I think I’ll look elsewhere when it’s time to pull the trigger on a wheel setup.

I had no idea this wheel was coming, especially with all the commotion I have been hearing about Fanatec lately. Before this, the Pro seemed like the sensible option w/ Boost Kit, but like many others, I found the wheel to look a bit tacky. This one looks a tad better 👍🏾

£1200 😂 Honestly, whilst I understand the hype Rory had to try and build by teasing this video, it’s not surprising to see that is reaction and the relative low number of views for the ‘review’. If you take the number of players who are interested in playing GT on a wheel, then the number of those players willing or able to part with £1200 for it, the target market is pretty small.
This isn’t a game changer, it’s a high end product aimed at those with high disposable incomes. A game changing product would be one that is affordable for the masses and gets more people off controllers and onto wheels.
I agree completely, whilst it would be great to upgrade to Dd, at these prices I think I will be using the G29 for quite a while yet

@@g_geezer3277 Prices on the EU Fanatec site are in Euro and include VAT at 20%. When you purchase in the UK you're charged the pre-VAT price but pay it to UPS when shipped. There's also a admin fee from UPS and, as you say, shipping.
Did they fix the issue with the micro usb connection randomly coming undone, forcing you to unbolt the clamp and reconnect the wheel shaft to the base then retorque?

Can you please Install a different wheel Rim with QR2 Lite and let me know if you still get 15Nm? I would like to know why in the DD+ Description it says QR2 Lite and QR1 Lite will be limited to 8Nm Yet here they’ve Pre-Installed a QR2 Lite and it Gets 15Nm
Every other wheel with QR2 Lite is limited to 8 Nm.

this is what ive been waiting for. been using a csl elite forever but couldnt drop the money for a dd2, and the csl dd wasnt enough of an upgrade for me to justify it.

How does the rim compare to the McLaren GT3?
With this new wheel we need massive price drops on the old 5Nm GT DD Pro to bring direct drive to the masses. I want the DD Pro but the price is too high for us Canadians.
The masses dont need direct drive thats the fucking problem to begin with
Though I like the wheel’s agility which I think must due to the fact that it’s lighter (also a bit smaller) than many conventional wheels.
But the shifter action is way too long imho which is remedied by adding extra magnets to the shifter mechanism therefore shortening the paddles route.
Still waiting for that “extra force feedback” to be implemented…

Hi, I wanted to ask you for some information. I am disabled and so I have no possibility to use the pedals. I saw on the official Fanatec website that the DD EXTREME has the possibility to set the second paddles as a brake and accelerator, and this would be a great solution for me and for all people who like me have this kind of situation. What I wanted to ask is if you had the chance to try this solution, your feelings if it is practical and above all comfortable to use. Thank you for your possible feedback.
QR2 Lite limits the max torque to 8NM, does not make sense...

Youll just be stuck into an entry level ecosystem. For all the flaws of fanatec, the amount of options you have is worth any perceived shipping issues

My dd pro died live on stream. Only used it for a month!😢
Check the clamp on the stem of the wheel base, I thought mine crapped out also until I loosened the clamp w allen key, pushed it flush then tightened the ever loving hell out of it. It’s a known issue with the dd pro.
Done all of that. Even tried different power cords. Thing won't even turn on
from wheel to wheel nothing will make you "faster" HOWEVER better FFB can make you more consistent, which in turn will eventually turn into speed

Ayyyy I'm G29 as well.. it's like Nokia 3310, undestructible (jk), but for real I've had it for quite some time already and it's still running great.
(I'm also poor to upgrade so I will run this one until it breaks).
With you all on this, I was so happy when I found I could afford a G29 and Gt Omega base to hold it ( not full rig but solid enough to race with) , and amazed by how much extra control I had versus controller. But as much as I would love to try DD, I'm just not in that disposable income bracket 😢

So they release a Gran Turismo wheel with a screen and funky leds but none of that really works with Gran Turismo? Seems like its more a PC wheel with a GT7 logo, since you can only make use of all that stuff with PC games.

I am so mad at fanatec I ordered pedal on the 18th of february and I still don't have a tracking number on the page
SuperGT did a race 10 seconds faster than his previous best. He was a little over 1 second faster per lap
I just watched the video from SuperGT, even he didn't make that claim, specifically, being 10 seconds faster than his best race. He did one race on the EU server, with people equal to his skill level and than, went to the NA servers, where there wasn't an equal skill level available for the time he raced. I'm sure you're disagreeing but, in 3rd was a Corvette mearly 9 seconds behind.
Steve may be fast, but he didn't make unrealistic claims.

Maybe a disclaimer should be mentioned here and in other new reviews regarding this new wheel. Given the woes and quality control when it comes to Fanatec, is that out the box, of course and thankfully it feels great brand new. However, let's hold on the praise until lets say, a good month or two after you put through your regular hours of usage. I predict issues will pop up in a short amount of time. I hope I'm wrong but time will tell if that wheel alone is worth its price.

Quite ironic that you tested it on your own base, knowing you have to buy a new base to use it. Typical of Fanatec and PD to not give a fuck about their current product owners, and pay a load of youtubers to push how great it is to spend money.

The GT DD Pro is an ideal first set up mate. It’s a game at the end of the day and the wheel works perfectly well. I’ve no real complaints after using it for a year. There’s always a temptation to get something newer, shinier and more powerful but the GT DD Pro is still a great product as an all in one bundle. Don’t be put off!
The wheel being a larger size alone will make any wheel smaller seem toy-ish. Rory has never said anything bad about the GT DD Pro, and he has no control over how fanatec conducts their business.
Remember, Rory has used the GT DD Pro for some time now and has seen what the new DD is capable of while at an event, when someone who knew what they were doing set it up.
