      Disagree on the manual memory tuning part.
      Example, a ballistix sport lt kit 3200mhz goes from 75ns latency to 65ns resulting in up to 20% gaming performance on the 3300x without even overclocking the CPU.
      Some even more expensive 3600mhz kits with cl16 will have a latency of 80+ns and is actually worse for Ryzen, and 10th gen Intel.
      Latency is also important on Intel side, especially with 10th gen.
      I'm a little disappointed that you don't go deeper into manually tuning memory when talking about how to maximize the potential of your ryzen chip, as it is by far the most significant performance boost you can get outside of exotic cooling.

    You CAN use your old windows 10 boot drive, no need to reinstall windows especially if your coming from a older amd platform, have done this myself and I upgraded cpu, motherboard and ram. Many others have done this and have had zero issues just like me. Windows 10 will just install new drivers and will work just fine. You will have to go and uninstall any trace of old software from windows and make sure you install your new chipset drivers after you boot up with the new hardware.

    Take it from a Ryzen owner since day one. The only way to make Ryzen suitable for gaming is to COMPLETELY DISABLE SMT in the BIOS. Yes, Ryzen is generally amazing for multi tasking and multi core video editing output. But it's always been behind in gaming due to SMT and this does NOT SHOW UP IN FPS TESTING. When pushed to the max core limits, SMT creates a stutter in game play which can only be felt. Your FPS might show 100+ but it feels like 50-60. It's terrible. Disable SMT for max efficiency or learn to park your cores if you want to micro manage everything.

    So uhhhhh, I paired my 3300X with an NH-D15...... it was running a max of 4350 MHz before on stock cooler with PBO on auto. Used to reach 80c+ on heavy tasks.
    Now with PBO on enhanced 4 on a b550 msi gaming edge mobo, I’m getting 4450 MHz with 65c max sustained :)

    do NOT run over 1,3v or even 1,3v for daily useage if you override core voltage. It will degreade the cpu rather fast. Some people have reported extreme degrading after 3 to 6 months already. google it if you don't believe me. The reason why if you watch the voltage on stock and it goes to 1,4v and higher is because of the reading mechanism. In reality the voltage is only that high for literally micro or nanoseconds to boost and then it goes way lower. Run prime95 at small FTTs and you'll see that on stock most ryzen 3000 chips voltage will go down quite dramatically. Definetly under 1,3v

    Hey , would u consider doing eSport games benchmarks in this method?
    Method:
    cap the fps to 144fps/240fps
    and getting the average fps for each game / CPU
    also add section to see how much apps in the background impacting that average
    like Geforce shadow or instant replay of AMD or OBS, Streaming
    the idea behind it is
    without capping the fps, the high fps in small rooms or in good cases like without many explosions in game would offset the average quite much
    so this cap avoid it and really given the right distribution of the fps while eSport gaming

    I tried setting everything to default on my MSI bios, and even updated it a few days ago. Using ryzen master to oc the chip to 4.4ghz @1.4375v . cinebench completes, but using OCCT shows CPU errors. Was wondering if this the limit to my OC? Or is there something in my bios that I need to change to enable manual OC in Ryzen Master
    P.s:
    - i tried 4.5ghz @ stopped at 1.5v cuz im too scared to go higher than that
    - I also tried 4.3ghz@ 1.375v and the OCCT still showed errors
    If I leave everything at stock this happens:
    - i have a tower cooler (70-75celcius @boost 4.2~4.35ghz)

I've bought almost 100 products from them including pc parts and have had few problems, all of which I got my money back on. Even shipping is fast, or was before cv. You can even get cheap mobos from them for the 3300X, I think tech yes city just did a video on it!

    finally snagged one of these for 150 bucks, which, they have been sitting at 200 since launch so ill take it. nabbed a lightly used b550 for a 30 dollar savings over new so that cancels out the markup over msrp of 120. Now to just wait for a 6700xt to be a thing that can be bought at not an insane price. But ill live with my rx480 in the meantime. The 3300x will still be a nice boost in all the older games that the rx480 can play easily and i play quite a few of them.

    For something like a dan a4 i really would consider a 3100 because of thermals, if you are gaming in 60fps and not competitive you are better off with a noctua low profile and a cpu that runs cool and cheap, besides, even on competitive 3100 should be just fine... Who need 400fps anyway?

    Just wondering where I can find more info on why it's a bad idea to migrate a boot drive from an Intel system to a new AMD system? I had no idea this was a thing, so thanks for the heads up!
    I thought it was something you can fix in device manager by showing hidden devices and manually removing old chipset drivers for the Intel parts? I've done this before with an Intel > Intel rebuild with no issues.

    No just use any profile edit the power profile in advanced options change the option power management of processor state both max and min to 99% and and by droping them to that boom no fan ramping up and down its a glitch in the heuristics of windows for power,though you you may take a small performance hit but its better say in my case as my case has 6 fans not an audible sound you wana hear! hope that helps anyone that has that issue,it will also drop the idle heat like on the 3950x by at-least 10'c by doing that at-least with my amd 3950x and a few i have done for clientele

    I have my 3300X in the tiny SG13 with a 120mm Corsair H60 AIO. It stays cool (>80C) and boosts to 4.35GHz but the VRMs on the motherboard get very hot, sometimes up to 80C. Is that bad for the VRMs or can they take that heat? The case has no exhaust so all the hot air gets pushed to the back where the VRMs are.

    • @AuDiGo6
      @AuDiGo6 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's fine, temps on VRM are rated to 105-130°C. Everything under 100 is perfectly fine and you don't need additional cooling.

    • @Al-USMC-RET
      @Al-USMC-RET 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If there were 3300x processors available anywhere I would have used that instead though. I'd take the higher sustained clock speed over the extra cores for gaming. The black noctua nh-l9 I used really can't go much above a 65w processor with the low noise adapter and my 3700x won't stay above 4ghz on all cores without messing around in pbo which sends the thermals through the roof.

    I use a CoolerMaster 240mm AIO on both of my AM4 solutions. The R5 2400G can get pretty hot when overclocking the cpu and the apu. Besides, it will eventually get my R7 2700 which needs all the cooling it can get when overclocked, as well. If you can afford it, budget more for cooling and memory up front, so that you wont have to spend even more money later. After all, that is why we chose the AM4 platform, isn't it? My machine may be running an apu today, but that same B450 Mortar motherboard will have an R7 and eventually even an R9 3950X before it is retired. This could take a while.
