    This is crazy! My boss is having me put together a parts list for a gaming pc for her autistic son. He's been working really hard and doing good in school so she's covering the cost for him (I'm not making any money off of any of this). He's been wanting me to show him how to build a pc so I'm going tell him I'm building myself a new pc and wanting to use the opportunity to teach him and supervise him while he builds it. I'm going to tell him it's his when it's done😁. I picked all the same components you used in this video except I'm using a gigabyte 3070 and white corsair dominator platinum. Same case, fans, cooler, cpu and mobo. I can't wait to see the look on his face when he finds out he just built his own pc!. His pc is going to be way better than mine and I'm so excited to be able to do this for him.

    I really like that NZXT actually put some thought about how the fans would match in with the rest of this case. That is something that all too often gets missed in case design with either a generic fan or simply one that was not really designed to go with the case. Having everything match a general aesthetic as with this machine really helps the whole thing just look like everything there was meant to go together (with the exception of the GPU - a white one would have been better with this case and motherboard). Like Jay, I do like the design of the vertical mount. It could have been made better with an adjustable height support towards the far end of the GPU but it is a lot better than others I have seen.

      NZXT has always been an "aesthetics first" type of company since that they have arrived on the scene. So of course everything was going to match. This isn't anything new.
      The reason why there isn't a white GPU was because Jay is under contract with EVGA to promote a "agreed upon number" of their products each year. The only way if we would've seen a white Stirx or Zotac card was if they would've sent the card to him for free as a sponsor.
      And also, the GPU adjustable support bracket design isn't the problem. The bracket is doing it's job. The issue is that the bracket was meant for "normal sized/normal weighted" cards. Those EVGA FTW3 Ultra cards are not your average card. So of course your PSU shroud is going to be bowed slightly.

      @@davidhodge0201 lol, when we first got together she hated that I played video games & TTRPG's until I told her exactly that. She got the point pretty quickly lol

But I still play a decent amount, maybe 10 hours a week if I had to guess. I'm hoping my two girls will want to get into them when they get older, then I'll have even more of an excuse to play. Lol.

      @@spankbuda7466 wow, assumptions abound here. She gets the glassy look in her eyes because she's got a non-zero interest in anything gaming related. If it's not one of the three games I mentioned above, she really couldn't care less. Whenever I tell her something that I found funny while playing a game like Phasmophobia, she just looks at me, gives a "huh, that's kinda funny" before going back to her phone or whatever. It's the same look I give her whenever she starts talking about something that's happened on trash reality shows.

Your daughters are fortunate to have a father who's such a good example of what it's like to be generous with what they have. Happy Father's Day from someone celebrating his first as a father himself!

    @JayzTwoCents Please do a system fan tuning video. I have a setup currently using Corsair that I just cannot get right. I either experience fans throttling up or down. Or it's quiet and will ramp up to 100%.

    • @facksmasheen
      @facksmasheen 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jay made a video about a month ago called something like "you need this free software" or something and its about a program called "fan control". Could be a starting point to figure it out. I'm using it and I love it so far. I'm not asking anything crazy of the program though, I have all 4 pin fans, and they are all on motherboard headers, also no rgb or anything like that, so its more than enough

    • @TheFizbandantalus
      @TheFizbandantalus 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@facksmasheen So I have 10 Corsair fans, so I have to use the Commander Pro AND two RGB controllers. I just dont have the length to run everything to my headers. So unfortunately im stuck. Im using a 12900k and a 3080.

    • @facksmasheen
      @facksmasheen 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheFizbandantalus Good luck, maybe Jay could make a video on this. Do you know which fans are causing the annoyance? Gpu fans tend to be the most annoying in my experience. Despite how much you got going on there it might be an easy fix. It could also depend on what games/workloads/whatever you got going on the pc when its being annoying.

    • @TheFizbandantalus
      @TheFizbandantalus 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@facksmasheen funny enough, the GPU is fine. MSI Afterburner is doing everything correctly. However it's all the fans that are ramping up and down, excluding the gpu. When the system boots, they all goto 100% then once I'm in the OS it will settle with cpu temps at around 27 to 30C, No OC. I could be web browsing and the fans will hit around 50 to 80% then throttle back down. In games they literally go 100%. So I don't know if icue or the bios is doing it but setting a curve in icue has been the only thing that has helped a bit to keep idle down somewhat.

    • @facksmasheen
      @facksmasheen 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheFizbandantalus If the cpu and gpu temps are reasonably low when gaming and (case?) fans are at 100% there is definitely something screwy going on. You have an AIO for cpu cooling? And if so, is that connected to the mobo or a controller? Usually case fans wouldn't be linked to gpu activity anyway (in reference to you being at 100% speed during gaming, though I use "fan control" for exactly this purpose). What are your cpu temps when gaming or under a load like cinebench? I've had fans blast up to 100% on startup before, but that was when plugged into mobo headers and only after my bios fan curves got nuked after clearing cmos because I messed around with my ram timings a little too much or whatever. Even that only bothered my because I have a random 3000 rpm noctua fan in my case for no reason. It's sounding like either the controllers or whatever software you use to control them are acting screwy so far.
