Actually just got the 240 base, its a super nice AiO, ive used a few different setups and like them the most. Definitely loved the harness update, helps with management. The LCD screen was the selling point and for 130$ it was a easy choice. Threw it in a h210i itx build, keeps my i5 cool, radiator has plenty of airflow 💪🏼

I have the first version elite (then labeled Z73) 360mm AIO from NZXT with the screen. Throwing gifs up on the pump block is epic! 2 years running and no issues so far!
Yeah I got a kick out of putting the flaming dining room "this is fine." gif on my toasty spec'd build. Was even more relevant during the 4090 plug-gate
if only gif + infographics weren't gen-locked out of greediness.

I just put a NZXT Kraken Z73 RGB in my unit - it replaced a 4 year old Kraken X53. I mainly upgraded because of a case swap and needed a 360mm radiator, but I LOVE THE LCD display. Its really fun to find different GIF's online and changing the display every couple days. Its also confirmed to give you all of the scene points of your friends

@@vincentphilippot9562 I believe the resolution on the Z73/63/53 is 320x320, so the resolution of the Elite would be double. I think my Z73 looks really good behind the tempered glass side panel while sitting in my chair

The one thing I liked most about Kraken was its AER 2 fans with the ring shape rgb. It looks too standard now for my liking. Guess you'll need to spend more money to get those fans
I'm more interested ( probably like anyone else) in a review - comparison with older versions and or other brands of AIO in case you are allowed to do that yet.
Quite disappointing that Nzxt didn’t utilize the asetek gen 8 pump, a refresh after two entire years just for a fan change and higher res screen
Corsair's old AIO is using high end IPS screen, and you only get the Gen 8 pump in the ROG Rayjuen iii the aio with the stupid name you know what i mean x)

Out of all the different AIOs I've had, I actually liked the Kraken the most. I'm using a Corsair one now though.
I had the corsair one and it was too loud for me even on the slowest pump setting the buzzing was too much.

@@BlackBruceLeeTheGreatDekuTreethis is the reason why I’m going for the kraken !!! I followed the cfg file tweak which brought pump speed to about 1800 rpm but it’s still audible . Kraken min is about 800 +-300 rpm . Can’t stand the Corsair one anymore.
My first computer monitor was 14" 640x480, 256 colors. So the screen on the pump has a higher resolution with more colors on a MUCH smaller area than a fully functioning high-end computer monitor back in the day XD
I have a white Kraken Z73 360. And it’s so rare that I bought it at Microcenter off the shelf a year ago. Elite status i know 😎😂
I have the kraken x73 due to needing a cooler last minute not seeing my new CPU didn't include a stock cooler. It's my first AIO and I actually really like it. Keeps my CPU about 10 degrees cooler then my old CPU ran at with a stock cooler
… yeah there was a white Kraken before .. I have one in my build. 😊 I have the one without a screen, just logo. I’ve had it for about a year and a half now.
I just upgraded to the Elite 360 from the 3year old Kracken Z73 the display is super sexy and one plug into the pump instead of 2 connections money well spent especially to help cool the I9 13900KS 😎

Why am I getting vibes that I like the smaller, non Elite-version screen more? I guess I'm a real minimalistic, professional kind of thinker. I did purchase the Elite, but I do like these as much 100%. I think in the future, I will go for a more simple screen, just because of this video, since the cooling is exactly the same strength on the two 3-fan models -thanks for the demo Jay.
My last Kraken failed after less than 15 months of mild use, when i opened it up the cooling plate it was completely clogged with goo.
Now i only use air coolers on my rigs, currently using the Noctua NH-U12A on my main rig and its fantastic.
Air coolers are the way to go. I've got PC's that use air coolers which are well over 10 years old. Still chunking along just fine.

That thing is dated. I dont think it works on anything past 10 or 20 series.

I had it on a 1080 ti, made a huge diff. Sad that they don‘t bring smth for the newer gen.
The G12 is super out dated and doesn't go past the 20 series cards, compatibility is as follows. Thank you for your in depth review I just made the purchase for the 240mm white for my TT tower 200.
Not that it matters in any way, but I believe those rotational increments were 30 degrees not 15.

does make you think, why not bluetooth, single pwm header to the pump, to power it, and small bluetooth unit, that feeds to a box out the way that does the fans, only 1 small tiny wire then, can be seen
The regular version is way nicer and non rgb in the uk is £130 i think that is a very fair price. Very happy.
X72 was 6 gen Asatek pump.
Kraken Elite and Kraken 360 is in fact X73 and Z73 refresh.
Same Asatek gen7 pump, witch i dont understand in situation, when ASUS use new Asatek gen8 pump.
Still not possible control of pump speed thru Bios (12V pin not wired).
So, from my perspective is this "new" series step back.
But if someone decide for this AIO, then good idea is install noctua nf-a12x25 on radiator instead NZXT fans (P12 AER).

I prefer aluminum radiators, especially the aftermarket ones for cars, they are way better than OE since everything is welded together making it harder for it to leak over time
It doesn't matter, because every single Kraken i've owned has had a failed LCD either right out of the box or two months later. I'm on my third one, still can't get them to RMA because they want me to fix it myself or ignore me.

My friend left the plastic on the hyper 212 I was using to cool my 5900x. It never shut down because of overheating lol.
I use CAM because of fans and T120 but can you please ask NZXT to make the CAM software window to be adjustable. It drives me crazy that its a single size and so tiny. Thank you
I really liked my Kraken 240, but unfortunately my screen kept going blank. The cam software couldn't reconnect, and I had to reboot my system to fix it. Doing some research, it seems to be a common problem. Returned it and now I'm keeping it simple, and cheap, with a Peerless Assassin. Pretty sure my cooling is just as good TBH.
Hopefully they update the CAM software to let the previous gen Krakens make use of the increased options on the screen, such as setting a different image/gif behind their infographics besides just a solid color. My main complaint with my Kraken Z73 is not being able to customize what displays on the dual infographic. I just want to be able to see my CPU and liquid temp on there, rather than the GPU temp. I've compromised by using the carousel where it flips back and forth between CPU and liquid, but it seems odd to not let you pick what sensors you want to display on something like that.
My Z63 always supported dual infographic. I am running 4.49.0.
@@kentcurrie7326 Mine has dual infographic, but it will only show CPU temp and GPU temp. There is no option to customize which sensor is shown. Personally, I don't care to have my GPU temp on my CPU cooler, especially since I already have a separate screen for GPU stats. Don't think it could be that difficult to let someone select "liquid temp" or "CPU usage" to display, but the option to change the sensor readout is only available on the single infographic style.
they finally got Corsair beat. time for Corsair to come out with a new screen.

I had a M22. After 2 years of 24/7 use it was dried and my CPU was trotteling down and it took me a while to figure out why.
They replaced it. The replacement did the same 3 years later, now out of warranty.
Never had that issue with other AIO.
So that's basically my Z63 with a few changes (moving a connector around randomly isn't an "upgrade" imo) with unlocked features my Z63 should already have. Meh.
Corsair needs to pay attention. ICue needs some improvements.

Just bought this one this morning at micro center I was using a nu-15 something forgot getting like 70 80 temps on my I-7 11700k with this aio I’m getting a max of 60 on really cpu intensive game (starfield atm) really recommend this aio!!
(Note) for the non elite you cannot put gif’s on it only the temps and pictures

its annoying they didn't add dual info graphic + gif for the older models. I have the z53 and it can do the web integration, and use giphy now as well in the app but they left out the dual with gifs of course even tho it can 100% support it. A bit scummy imo

My z53 is the 240 version of the ones before these and I love the screen, and the AIO keeps my 13700k pretty cool. especially being able to see temps at a glance and not having to have it on my monitor is a huge blessing.. and now you can play gif's in the background while viewing temps, which is what I was talking about! They added this feature for the new Elite AIO's but excluded it in the update for the former ones but still decided to add every other feature like being able to see pages on the web, and use giphy directly from the Cam software. I am just disappointed they didn't add the ability to have a gif as well as being able to see temperature settings and what not for the older gen like they have on the new one!
Jay timing with reviews and videos is starting to worry me a little. I just ordered a Asus strix aio and I think he aired this video right before that, but not before I was trying to figure out what I wanted. Same goes when I ordered Asus crosshair while I was waiting for the AMD 7000x3d. I will wait til Jay get a video about SSD before I jinx that to.
For the money the Elite costs, I'd be pissed if I purchased the white version and all those accessories came in black
I prefer the look of their older rgb fans with the ring. The ones on the 360 look generic AF.
Why cant they just route all the pump cable/wires in the sleeved tubes so that the wires comes only from the Rad which is always out of view covered by fans.. this will give clean/unwired look to your pump house on the motherboard.. this is usually being done with GPUs liquid cooled like the 3090ti strix LC and 4090 Suprim liquid X...
white aio, great im working on a white build now in the new nv7 case, then they go and have the cables coming off the pump as black . . . . . .swing and a miss
The fact that they didnt change the screen type is really bad, the colors on my kraken x are very bad, yet I have replaced it because of an extreme noise that is out from the pump, and the issue with the newer product is still there.. i wish if you tested it more and pointed out these issues.
These bastards know my "Ooh, Shiny!" Self cannot resist the absolutely gorgeous 640x640 screen of the kraken elite. It's far too expensive, but I've already gone with an rtx 4080, an i7 14700K and 64gb 6400mt cl32 ddr5 ram, so why skimp out on the aio? In the end, I'd rather pay the extra and be able to look at my build and feel truly happy, not feel a slight bit of FOMO because I cheated out in the end

i prefer infinity mirror in my current build to the new tiny screen. The reason tho why i didnt buy the screen version in the first place was that it was so pixelated, glad they fixed it. How many kidneys does it cost?

@@AlujaBING I've heard someone's opinion elsewhere so I will try to paraphrase it "aio's represent quality in the customers mind, even when its unnecessary and you tell them that they will feel like you are trying to rip them off". Although I do agree corsair is pricey nzxt feels like the apple of aio's, its really overrated, has diehard fanbase and is ridiculously overpriced for almost no reason. I have x63 in my system and I really wish I would have gotten something with better price like Arctic liquid freezer ii especially considering they made that thing with ryzen hotspot in mind

What I like the most about this mounting design is that it works in ANY orientation so you can place the tubes on any side of the CPU you want, even a corner!

Makes zero sense … the price of motherboards is getting higher and higher … aio stay the same … the x73 in 2021 was 300+£! This one is less than 300£.
Being able to rotate the LCD in CAM more than just 90 degrees was a CAM update and works with the older Kraken models. I have a 240 Kraken with the LCD and can confirm that you can rotate the LCD in 12 degree increments also.
The pump cables should have been white. Other than that this is looking really nice.
Yeah I agree. I don't understand why these brands still make black things when the product is full white. Like can't be that difficult right? After all, people pay 200-300$ for it. If we want white, we want WHITE. 😅
This is pretty cool but the biggest complaints I've had with NZXT coolers. I had the X73 and now the Z73 LCD is that 1. Cam is awful, end of story. and 2. These coolers have no memory. What that means is if I put a graphic of spongebob putting a fire out and then I restart my PC, that graphic will no longer be there unless I start cam, and I don't want cam to auto start on my PC.
On the Corsair line of AIO coolers, they do have memory so when you restart your PC, that graphic will still be there without the need to start iCUE. I'm not positive if this new line from NZXT has it, you may have mentioned it in this video and I missed it but if they don't, that's a huge let down and not even worth an upgrade.
I'm probably switching to a Corsair AIO soon just because I want to have one ecosystem, that's assuming Corsair can come out with daisy chained fans, waiting on Corsair or NZXT whoever does it first.
YMMV but i found the corsair elite capellix (coolit) units a bit more overcomplicated and failure prone than the asetek nzxt coolers. I havent found a way to pwm mod the corsair units yet, but the nzxt ones are wicked simple.
The kraken z pump head pbcs are freaking packed though. Still trying to find a workaround for exactly the lack of memory behavior you mentioned. I refuse to run icue or cam-both have felt more buggy and bloaty than necessary to me.

I agree I hate having anything autostart on my PC if I don't need it, don't want 80 different RGB software on boot for no reason. I will say though as you said, I've had no issues with my Z73, however the X72 I had previous to this had many issues, none in the form of performance though, all RGB.
Either way, I'm interested to see what Corsair can bring to the table, if it's bad then I'll stick with a Z73 or upgrade to the newer one.
Did you happen to notice if this new NZXT one has memory? I didn't hear Jay say it so I'm rather disappointed...
they should make a little plug on their motherboard, that you can plug the usb from the cooler pump into, and use it for both diagnostics (like a motherboard error readout) and of course, the info it's capable of displaying now. That would be cool. (And useful) most motherboards dont have a proper error code readout these days, on the motherboard.
You are so right! We are lucky to get a blinking light pattern these days, nevermind a proper error code readout. It would be great if these little screens could give out detailed error reports in addition to all the flashy stuff they do now. A friend of mine recently had to send his PC off for repairs because he had no error code to search online, he has been unable to work his side job for 2 weeks and counting all because motherboard manufacturers are being lazy and/or greedy.
Very neat upgrades they made for their new models, eventually (being very generous with that eventually because I like my z3 right now, keeps my 12900K at a nice and comfy 30C on average when running something like Warframe or Cyberpunk on max) I might consider getting the 360 elite with the dual infographic with gif function. Honestly I have always enjoyed how CAM functions, I don't see many people going to NZXT for their pumps, mainly for the software that comes with it
@@ryan19 I mean, case and amount of fans contribute a ton, I’m lucky I got room for the 3 that came with it and my 3 lian li exhaust fans, plus the one that came with my case.
I have a screen in my pc, so I don't necessarily need another, but a web option is cool. I could put the weather outside on it I'm sure, and know how hot the sun is that I never see because I'm inside gaming lol

Sun is always the same temperature it never varies. Also pretty sure NZXT wouldn’t be able to fit all the zeros to read the sun’s core temp. Not even sure why you want to know the temp of the sun’s core temp….weird
I still love that Arctic AIO’s have one cable to manage - 2 if you get the RGB version - idk how you guys deal with all these cables!

IMO, NZXT AIOs looked cooler with the infinity mirrors. The infinity mirror was the *only* reason I wanted an NZXT over another brand. Kinda a letdown that it might not (won't?) be an option with my next upgrade.
They could've made it an option somehow since the non-elite is like a mirror. Imagine still having the infinity mirror option and a small LCD to show the temps.
I think these only updated the LCD screen and the fans. The old infinity mirror ones are still in stock. Not sure if they will keep being made. Like the old Aer fans are still being sold.
