    • @AvroBellow
      @AvroBellow 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I'm Canadian as well and I've never heard "aboot" but I HAVE heard "aboat". Most of the stereotypical "Canadian" accent is that maritimer accent from Down East. Like the way that Newfies and Scotians say "Kyar" instead of "car".
      Just watch Canada's Worst Driver. The host, Andrew Younghusband (yes, that's his real name...lmao) sounds perfectly normal until he says "kyar" instead of "car". It's funny as hell to watch, not just for him, but the show in general. LOL

    • @HallowqueenCrafting

    • @deutschbagnl
      @deutschbagnl 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@AvroBellow Newfies definitely don't say "kyar". We also don't say "aboat" - there's definitely an "ow" sound. I find we have more of a tendency to drop or shorten particular sounds, though there are exceptions when it comes to saying things like "yis" instead of "yes".

    • @AvroBellow
      @AvroBellow 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@deutschbagnl - You've never watched Canada's Worst Driver or Codco have you? Just search in TH-cam for "Canada's Worst Driver" and listen to Andrew Younghusband speak. Now, not all Newfies sound the same, I know that. The stereotypical Newfie accent comes from the Bay Boys but I am not making it up. I've said plainly where I've seen it so you're not arguing with me, you're arguing with Andrew.

      @3 kings You are clearly misinformed. Canada does not rely on the US for everything, in fact when it comes to the most essential things the roles are reversed. Oil, medical isotopes, steel, nickle, potash for fertilizer etc. And lets not forget the the thing that will be the most valuable in the future, fresh water. I take it you are not from Canada or the US? The majority of the world would disagree, but you are entitled to you're opinion. I love our neighbors, much of my extended family lives there. A good portion of my family down there are black however, ask them where they are treated better throughout either country.
