My life has been divided between three Canadian cities. Halifax, Yellowknife and Victoria. ...yet still, despite my geographically diverse Canadian experience which has included swimming in (or standing upon) all three of our bordering oceans, I don’t have a fucking clue what you’re talking about.
My mom and grandma took my brother and I to Florida years ago. We went to a McDonald's for supper. They had the self serve drinks. I don't recall any of those in Canada at the time, but my mom was ordering and at the end she said "and two small pops." The guy was so confused. My mom said "you know pop...Soda pop." He finally clued in. He said he'd never heard that before. Just goes to show how Americans know absolutely nothing about us. I knew back then that Americans referred to it as "soda" and I was probably around 10 years old.
Ok, I'm Canadian and the Mounty police does technically exist but they never actually put the red uniforms on. The red uniforms are only worn and seen during special occasions (Like Canada Day) or on Parliament Hill for the tourists.

I find it funny how americans think we aren't allowed to have guns, I've been asked if it was even possible to own a firearm in Canada by an American online and I just said "no we can own guns we are just more responsible with them so you dont hear about shootings everyday." Then he argued that the Claw hammer is the number one murder weapon in the US and gave me shit for being anti gun. Even though I own one. Sometimes, yall make me go bruh

Jim Shade46 Because we use much of the same things as the rest of the world. Metric system and Celsius are good examples. Spelling goes with it. The U.S are the only ones that are different. It makes life annoying for everyone.
I thought it was a stereotype too, having lived here my whole life. I've been to every province and territory with the exception of Nunavut, Northwest Territories and Nova Scotia (aside from a layover in NS for 4hrs so i'm not counting that as a trip) and have actually heard people say "aboot" due to their accent in certain places. Specifically in the Yukon; they 100% say "aboot." I've heard that certain parts of the maritimes have people saying it there, too due to their accents. I caught a few "aboot"s out in Newfoundland when i was there as well.
"Aboot" is a way to mock the accent. I do know that the "u" in "about" is stretched and strengthened more by Canadian speakers (whereas in the US, the "u" is very soft).

Actually, the majority of Canada’s populated areas often receive summer temperatures (21C+) between mid-May and mid-September... Or four months. Even while I lived in Yellowknife, located in the high north, summers were hot and dry. From mid-June through mid-August, the daily high temperature regularly topped 25C. Unfortunately, October through April features a daily average temperature around -40C. At least the summers are great...
As a proud bilingual Canadian, I thank you for this video. It is very truthful, and I bet many people learned lots about us today.
OceanBlue ya just ignore the fact that the healthcare in the USA isn’t free, anyone immigrating to the country probably won’t be able to afford a doctor visit. You also can’t ignore the horrible racism in America immigrants face. Canada is the much better choice for any immigrant. This is coming from someone who has much personal experience.
kihuhv ! Indeed. More than 25% of the American land is more north than the southern ontario cities. And the non coast ones are way colder, like most of Minnesota
The stereotype of Canadians being polite is true. They are very cordial people. Another positive trait is that Canadians are a very calm people. Whereas Americans will fly off the handle for the most meaningless of things, Canadians remain calm and keep a clear head. I've always said that Canada is the United States, but done correctly.
William Hild: Repeating a false stereotype doesn't make it true. My experience from living in both countries us that Canadians are more likely to fly off the handle.
I believe these stereotypes get based off the face of our country. Justin Trudeau is calm and reasonable while Donald Trump can be sexist, racist and childish. Its one of the reasons we have these leaders to represent our country.
@@saschavonenckevort3932 What specifically has Donald Trump done that is 'sexist', 'racist', and 'childish'? Please look up 'specifically' in the dictionary before you respond with a load of generalized B.S.
You can now do one about Mexico: 1.- We are part of North America, not Central America and certainly not South America, even if we love South American people and their food. 2.-Burritos and Nachos are not Mexican Food but they are actually american + Hard Shell Tortilla Tacos are also American, and Mexican people does not consider them Tacos, because real tacos are much more simple and much more awsome. 3.-Not all of the country is a desert, only the Northern part that has contact with the US (reason that may led Americans to believe that Mexico was a desert). 4.-The Mexican sombrero is the charro sombrero and not the thing with zigzag paterns that is sold in Stores in the US as "Mexican Sombrero". The Charro sombrero is only worn by a Charro (duh) while performing. 5.-We don't celebrate 5 de Mayo, we go to school or work that day, our revolution was held on a November 20th. Restless Changes to Positivity You misunderstood what I said. You are North Americans generally, but you are Canadians specifically. It’s like calling the people who live in Europe European when you want to reference that entire area of people, but they are specifically more than that. There’s many kinds of people who live in those areas. English, French, Spanish, German, Dutch, Irish, Scottish, Swedish, etc.. What if you want to use a word that references them all in a conversation? You use the general landmass that they live on, which is Europe, hence the word “European”. The same principle applies to Canadians and every single group of people out there.
yeah its actually around 35 degrees celsius (95 degrees Fahrenheit i had to google it lol) but because Canadian summers are really humid it feels closer to 45 degrees Celsius (113 Fahrenheit). its the same in winter the wind chill makes it feel hell of a-lot colder then it actually is :/
I'm pretty sure everyone else here in the United States knew every one of these. The only thing I was not aware of was that the WatchMojo narrator is Canadian.
As a Canadian I want you to know that we have a higher life expectancy and education, lower crime and poverty rate than the States... In other words, the states is closer to being third world country than Canada is...
Okey I'm Canadian let's see #10- true there is summer #9- yeah #8- yep #7- that's ham #6- obviously not the only one, but tims is main and I've never heard of those other ones #5- you learn it in school but if you don't live where its spoken nobody remembers or learns anything other than animal names and "can I use the washroom." #4- probably but idk I don't really pay attention #3- cops wear blue or black #2- still gotta pay for some things but yeah #1- aboot is a lie and where I'm from (pei) we don't pronounce the g on ing so if I were to say I'm going to a store it'd be pronounced I'm goin to a store. If I said "Yeah that's ours," It'd be pronounced "Yeah that's ares." "Im going to our boat; I'm goin are boat."
In more rural areas, general policing is done by the RCMP. Over here in BC, the really big cities tend to be the ones with a municipal police force, like Vancouver with its VPD. Areas with a lower population density just have the RCMP, who indeed, are dressed in blue/black. The red surge is used for ceremonial stuff only, like Remembrance Day.
I’ve lived in BC all my life. It’s relatively warm here and we usually get rain instead of snow. I lived in Saskatchewan for a year in third grade (which is known to be cold) and I developed a “gang” of kids who all huddled under the playground at recess in the warmer months because it was so hot you would feel sick if you were outside for too long. It is NOT always cold here

#10 is accurate #9 just made me laugh I think Toronto is just more known, like Montreal as a city #8 yah I totally want you to know that it's super important #7 is so true omfg only Americans call it ''Canadian Bacon'' we've never said that #6 true #5 Canada is mainly English, but certain provinces (a province is like a state) speak French as well, such as Quebec - and in some cases you can't get certain jobs unless you speak both languages. #4 I agree #3 OMG FINALLY LOL our cops do not ride horses we have the same cops as Americans #2 I love this video for explaining this .. our healthcare SO isn't free and tbh it's a good thing if we know everyone should get healthcare no matter what, not just if you're rich - our milk comes in bags because it's better for the environment but we do also have carton milk available - #1 LOLOL no one talks like that, only sometimes in the maritimes Also, the whole polite thing.. just because we have manners doesn't mean we're all puppies and kittens.
Sarah S As for #7, Canadian Bacon is not ham. Ham is cured pork from the hind leg of the pig. Canadian Bacon is cured pork from the loin, a different cut of meat. That's why they call it Back Bacon.
Canadian here and there are a few things are missing that I think Americans should know. - Canada has an Army. We fought and beat Germany's best Armies in two world wars. And in World War II we took Juno beach. - John Cantius Garand was Canadian. Like James Naismith, John Garand was a in the U.S. when he made his accomplishment it was not basketball but the M1 Garand rifle that was used by the U.S. Army in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. - Canada has some of the beast snipers. Rob Furlong's shot (3rd farthest shot) and killed a Taliban fighter at 2,430 m (2,657 yd) and a JTF 2 sniper (farthest shot) killed an ISIS fighter in Iraq at 3,540 m (3,871 yd). - Canada has black people. From 1840 to 1865 over 30,000 American slaves used The Underground Railroad to come to Canada were they could be free and even vote. Today there descents and African immigrants make up 3% of Canada's population. (Hollywood actor Stephan James is from Scarborough, Toronto) We have a black woman on our $10 bill! - Canadian civilians own guns. Canadian civilians have 12,708,000 rifles, shotguns and handguns and 36,626,000 civilians that's enough to arm 34.7% of the civilian population. That makes Canada 7th in the world. - Canada is the second largest country in the world. With an area total of 9,984,670 km we only loose to Russia at 17,098,246 km.
@Cherry Dayz Did I say I was American? I'm a 64 yr old Canadian who's lived my whole life in our great country. (Except the last 14 winters where I go somewhere warm...not the USA!)

It’s such an awful place politically though. Not mention, the winters there are very long and very, very cold. You’ll be suffering from a lot of cabin fever. :/
go for it... you can just go there... they really dont have many immigration laws and the ones they do have can easily be avoided by several loopholes. they even give migrants a couple grand upon entry to start their lives.
The R.C.M.P. is the main police force for large portions of Canada. They are not used exclusively for federal issues. Ontario has its own provincial police force and several of the larger cities have set up their own police force, as well but most of Canada is policed by the R.C.M.P.
Of course our healthcare is paid for with our tax dollars! It doesn't appear out of nowhere! Oh, and we Canadians like to put "Eh" at the end of every sentence just to drive our American neighbors crazy... JK! :D

Anonymous226 in europe Quebec is more what we think about than English Canada. Most canadian traditions are from Quebec and we have more in common with them than anglos
Can ada I don’t mean to come off as rude; however, New-Brunswick another province that’s officially bilingual.
Anonymous226 Untrue. A lot of us Canadians care about French, and those who don’t take French in high school talk about how they regret it. I take French. My friends take French. My family knows French.
Lol I do, French is my first language and yes I live in Quebec
Ever since Trump became President I have never been more greatful to be Canadian.

It’s not winter all the time
That’s right they have a whole month dedicated to summer
Actually, the majority of Canada’s populated areas often receive summer temperatures (21C+) between mid-May and mid-September... Or four months.
Even while I lived in Yellowknife, located in the high north, summers were hot and dry. From mid-June through mid-August, the daily high temperature regularly topped 25C. Unfortunately, October through April features a daily average temperature around -40C.
At least the summers are great...
I live in Ontario and it’s basically 5 months of summer it’s so warm.
3 months
4 months of summer
Where I'm from in Canada, there's like 4-almost 5 months of summer. During the summer it usually gets like 28-33C

FYI, I am not from New Brunswick or Quebec; I am from Ontario and live in a very bilingual area in North-Eastern Ontario! Surprising, eh?!

Nope. My folks took us to Toronto quite a few times as children and we would hear people speaking French there.

OceanBlue ya just ignore the fact that the healthcare in the USA isn’t free, anyone immigrating to the country probably won’t be able to afford a doctor visit. You also can’t ignore the horrible racism in America immigrants face. Canada is the much better choice for any immigrant. This is coming from someone who has much personal experience.

second cup is really good but only sometimes because it’s expensive compared to tims:)
second cup has been better than tims ever since tims was americanized. not to say tims is awful now, but they do add stupid shit like potato wedges
Honestly the best place to get a cup of coffee right now is McDonald's. It is as cheap as Timmies and tastes better. Sad to say, but it's true.

Nah. Liberals still exist in Canada sadly
William Hild you haven’t met some parts of Saskatchewan yet. Mostly around Kindersley.
Derek Heuring you joking right? I dont think he needs to give proof, just look at the new and theres your proof
You can now do one about Mexico:
1.- We are part of North America, not Central America and certainly not South America, even if we love South American people and their food.
There you go Watch Mojo, half a video, you're very welcome wey.
TortoRacoon I don't think Trump would allow it lmfao
He fine with Mexicans as long as they are not illegal.
FE4R x DEMoN he cannot do anything if they are legal but it doesn't mean he is ok with them. He said it himself, he even called our elected president "Juanito" which is a name that represents an stereotypical image of mexicans who work as gardeners
You forgot to say dig the holes well (joke)
Me: Canadian
TH-cam: Recommends it to me

#1 WE'RE NOT AMERICANS
Then why do you live in North *America?*
yes you Are Americans , just not in the USA
how stupid are you? lmao
Restless Changes to Positivity
You misunderstood what I said.
Restless Changes to Positivity
Wow, who knew you could trigger Canadians by generalizing them as “North American”?
Oh, Canada! XD

yeah its actually around 35 degrees celsius (95 degrees Fahrenheit i had to google it lol) but because Canadian summers are really humid it feels closer to 45 degrees Celsius (113 Fahrenheit). its the same in winter the wind chill makes it feel hell of a-lot colder then it actually is :/

Im kinda offended... WE DONT ALWAYS SAY EH?
Roberto1756YT *eh?*
(Hollywood actor Stephan James is from Scarborough, Toronto)
We have a black woman on our $10 bill!
Also, the guns you speak of are hunting rifles. Not handguns, assault rifles, etc.

The R.C.M.P. is the main police force for large portions of Canada. They are not used exclusively for federal issues. Ontario has its own provincial police force and several of the larger cities have set up their own police force, as well but most of Canada is policed by the R.C.M.P.
