Also, the fact that Gwen shakes Miles' hand is an indicator of just how big a crush she has on him too, otherwise she would've hugged him or waved goodbye.
She blinks too. I felt the energy. She talked about kissing him at the end of the first movie as well...

Pretty sure she shaked his hand because his parents were there and she could already tell they were judging her, lol. Had they not been there she would have likely hugged him.

Ugh I love their awkward teen romance so much! The way Gwen moves a little closer at 0:08 while apologizing and adjusting her hair screams "I want to be affectionate to show you we're still cool but I'm super nervous"
I cringed soooo hard when she called them by their first names like 😭
or the "captain" and the salute was a major yikes

I kicked 3 teens out of my house for using my first name. My youngest had to explain politeness to her friends before inviting them back. After that, it only took a few days before I let them call me Papa instead. (All 3 of my daughters friends/partners call me Papa, except my son-in-law who calls me Rev)
@@SirRevCyberTruckerit's not a politeness thing, but a culture thing. There are plenty of cultures where using first names is the standard, and they are still able to be polite.
Making them call you papa makes it sound like it's more about power than politeness.
Homestly people need parents like this because we will grow into a better person.
Gwen was being really nice, they thought she was the reason he was missing school and all but she was just passing by. If there wasn't for the misunderstanding I bet that they would've liked her more. At least Rio is starting to like her you can tell at the end of the movie when they talk.
At the end she really went "You scored good, go get some of that and make me proud miles"

Also he turns into his younger self briefly when Miguel tells him he doesn't belong there, and this scene he promises his mom that he'll protect that younger version of him
At 2:35 she released miles was gonna tell her the truth but he instead said sorry, that’s why she looks like a little disappointed and still lets him go, I think she doesn’t know he is Spider-Man but does know he is hiding something and when he wanted to say that secret he instead said sorry for the cake

Once I heard Gwen say "Rio!" I went, "oof." Calling the parents by first name is a no no. Like taking off Spidey's mask, you don't do it.
no but imagine being a regular mom and you have to discover that your son is a hero, the girl he likes is from another dimension and you husband has to die so the multiverse doesn´t fall apart
I can imagine that this is going to be what my mom will be like when I start dating... Hahaha 😂😂❤ But I also know she cares about me like Rio does for her son. And this dialogue they share always makes me very emotional, like I'm hearing my own mother's words directed at me 😭❤ This is why I love movies with good, heartfelt, emotional family moments like these

They really wanted to see and chat with each other for a long time. Because of their alter-ego identity. And since they are on the good side, a hero, they might not have the chance on the next day. A strong villain can kill any of them. A whole different set of thinking for the kids and the naive grown ups

Somehow when I saw the movie for the first time I thought about how rude Miles' parents were to Gwen, let me explain. I'm Spanish, in Spain if you treat your partner's parents with familiarity it's really good (always with respect obv), it's warmer and you feel included in the family. So I was like "why are they behaving like that? Gwen just call them by their names, I don't see anything wrong. But then I remembered my Colombian friend, who told me how in Latin America they use Don or Doña before their first names (Mr. and Mrs.) In the US it's the same, but by their last name. Still, I'm shocked by the culture every time I see this scene, it's just my "I don't see it as a big deal" way of thinking.
I love Rio ❤she is a great mom, but it's a bit toxic the "Don't take him away from me", but he's their only child, so it's normal I guess 😂.
