Young silco, passionate guy with a big dream, spending his life to fight a way out for Zaun, but when his friend dead one by one, his dream was broken too.
And his brother betrayed him. Remember episode 3 back Season 1? He monologued whilst showing us Vander drowning him
Yea this kind of puts silco anger into perspective , as Vander basically starting working with piltover in a stagnant state where Zaun honestly couldn’t thrive anymore . That always been silco plan even when him and Jayce talked and he finally could get all he wanted but then they brought up jinx you could see why that wasn’t a easy thing to let go of especially considering the bond the end up creating but the flashback puts it it even deeper perspective
Heartbreaking
Yeah, the lesson is what can happen to someone’s heart when they were/feel betrayed. Silco is such a great villain because he could be any one of us, really.
@@narukamishirou284yeah, he went a-wall after a certain someones death..
Who fucking new that vander and silco are godfathers to vi and jinx, i thought vander just adopted the girls out of pity, and i never wondered why silco was quick to adopt jinx, this is the fucking reason why... They knew the kids way before everything went to shit... Good job riot, good job...
Makes it extra messed up that Silco tried to have Vi killed and was ready to stab Powder before she hugged him though.

Silco and Vander are really parallels for Jinx and Vi. As mentioned by many people in the comments Silco has the same bangs as Jinx. 😭

It's a direct callback and antithesis to Jinx lighting the match to the "Mad Hatter Tea Party" sequence in Episode 9 of Season 1, where she is the one in control of the situation, the one causing the fear and uncertainty. Both scenes involving her two father figures, and Vi. Only this time, instead of revealing Vi in fear for her life (or worse), it is Jinx, back to her vulnerable roots as Powder, searching for her family, hoping the worst hasn't happened yet again as it has so many times before.
This scene is pure catharsis, as well as keeping to this season's theme of having each character endure that which they caused others to endure.
@@jalcome4201 honestly this scene made me cry😭😭😭

This shit had me sobbing, like actually sobbing. The hug between Vander and Vi was bad enough, but the subtext of that scene obviously isn’t Vi just telling Jinx to hug Vander;
”He’s your dad too”
she means
”you’re my sister, come be with your family”
It’s not just inviting her to be with her family again, it’s an invitation to let go of that guilt she put on her that’s been torturing her since childhood. We’re looking at Powder finally being able to move past that horrible moment.
@@The_Story_Of_Us yeah, like for a second, then it all came crashing down the next episode... GODDAAMMIT JAYCE!!!

@@aldwinjasperjoniega8973 Warwick going 'zerk wasn't Jayce's fault, it was Singed. Singed was knocked out before he could hit WW with the rage juice, but then he was left there unattended while they dealt with Rictus. Meanwhile everyone goes outside to see what happened with Viktor, and Singed gets up and pokes the Bear, i mean wolf, with his rage juice fundamentally changing the physical and psychological nature of WW, preventing Viktor from even being able to suppress WW, even though Viktor was reclining while enjoying the medicinal properties of a gaping chest wound, and thus disinclined to even continue suppressing WW's base nature. This Completes WW's development cycle. Singed was discussing this with Ambessa just before Cait walks in with Vi as a prisoner.

The reunion we didn't know we needed to see.
I Can assure you i knew i needed it
Tell me about it. I didn't think it would be possible. 😭😭
So Vander and Silco were V and Powder’s godfathers.
Vander tried to kill Silco as punishment for the attempted revolution because it got Felecia killed, Silco saw that as a party foul, but Vander gave up on the dream all three had and those two in particular were sworn to accomplish, and that was an unforgivable sin.
Party Foul😂😂😂 bruh..😂
I don't think it was a punishment for the revolution. He blamed himself for that plenty in Act 1. I think Silco wanted to keep going whole Vander wanted to stop, and he thought he had to kill Silco to prevent things from escalating.
@@ferhog7705 Vander was focused on the Why, Silco was focused on the How. Vander knew that they were to do that "to keep children and families safe". Silco knew that families will never be safe while they are being externally exploited. The oath was to make a free Zaun, even if you have to dig through bedrock with blisters on your hands. Silco is doing that, even though on the way to that free Zaun he made it more dangerous. Sometimes a doctor has to inflict more damage and pain to fix the problem, but once the problem is fix then healing can commence. Silco is keeping to the exact promise at the agreed-to price. Vander is trying to fulfill the goal of the promise for a lesser price, because the cost in families was too high. Vander sought to compromise with the banality of evil, and that evil doesn't care and won't ever care until you make it care, Silco knows this and is trying to make that banality too afraid to NOT CARE. Vander wasn't willing to give anything up so others can live. Silco was sacrifice. Vander wasn't willing to fight until the war was already lost, Silco knew that would be too late. They were both right for different reasons, and they were both wrong for different reasons, they needed each other to make it work in the best possible way, but Vander tried to kill Silco, and Silco went into hiding to recover and avoided all of their old haunts, out of fear that Vander would once again try to kill him, until he was strong enough to complete the oath he swore. You always see that Silco valued keeping his word more than he valued life, because what value does life have if you are a lying oathbreaker who will sell out your brother on a whim.
This is the best scene in act 2. Could possibly be the best scene in the season, or even the series. We begin in a time where things are bleak, but there is hope. Three young friends, all of them sharing the same hope and passion. And then we go back to the future. Where things have truly gone to shit, multiple times. Where hope has returned again.
And the biggest hope of all, Ekko, still hasn't showed up
Agreed, and I'll tell you why.
The two most tragic scenes from season one, and the ones that broke me, were Vander dying protecting his kids and Vi and Powder separating. 💔💔
This one scene rectified both those moments. 🥲🥲

I swear I was thinking about that waiting after act 1 before act 2.
All they need is one season and to go into detail on what went to shit.
Back in the days Zaun was more like a evil pilltover. At some point the build biological weapons. Pilltover is just the old zaun elite who build a new quarter after the town nearly drowned and became independent.

Vander and Silco were friends of Felicia and Connol, so they were like godfathers to Violet and Powder. So the relationship they created with the girls wasn't just by chance.
Jinx looks and sounds so much like her mother. You think Silco ever saw Felicia's face when he looked at her?
I think he's looking at her with tenderness, just like Vander, because they both appreciate her a lot, besides, at this point, Silco wasn't still hurt, so maybe it was easier for him back then to express affection.

Ahhh Silco💔 I miss him so much and Vander. Crying at 4am wasn't something I thought would happen.
0:10 ok here’s my theory. This kinda seems like both Vander and Silco had a thing for her, just the way that they both look at her and listen intently to her dreams of Zaun. If this is the case, it gives Silco’s line to jinx “you’re perfect” have more weight if she reminds him of her
I'm just waiting for the plot twist that one of them is actually the father. Bro the way Silco looked at her? He def had feelings for her, even if it never amounted to anything and I wouldn't be surprised if vander did too. @@orgxiii4ever I agree. I think my perception has to do with the fact that men are only portrayed to look like that at women in media when they have romantic interest. Mixed friendships are unfortunately super underrepresented, but I hope that is what Arcane is trying to achieve here.

I'd watch a prequel series with these trio! The beginning of everything. Knowing what happened with these two, it would kill our soul.

Best episode of the season by a long shot. Makes sense too. It's mainly about Vi, Jinx, Vander and even a bit of Silco.
this was the moment where they got back their family, no anger, revenge, or pain, just pure love. They could've gotten this, they could've been happy, but the world got in the way and now I'm crying

This has to be one of the most beautiful and powerful scenes I've seen in media this year... The fact that Vander's spirit fought his way through the bloodlust and pure animal rage to embrace his daughters with such adoration, love, and softness was so endearing ❤
This flashback might be the most important scene in the whole show. It retroactively imbues so many other moments, characters and motivations with so much more meaning and depth, while being concise and direct. How do these writers and animators keep doing this?
This really tells you that Silco wasn’t just using Jinx for his own personal gain. He really did care for her. Also Jinx is one of the most complex characters I’ve ever seen in a tv show. She is my favorite of all time.
This is absolutely beautiful. I wish my grandfather was alive to see it. He would've loved it. 1939-2017 rip. He loved animation like the last airbender and he absolutey loved korra. He always said korra was his girl.... I wish he couldve seen this.
