Years in the making, the Derringer is jam-packed with features that will keep your Power Stroke safe and you happy.
    Watch as Gale Banks compares the Derringer to the competition. They never stood a chance.

    This is interesting but I think a new version needs to be made for the 2020 6.7 because the peak torque seems to be way down around 1500 rpm. My son has a 2020 and was pulling a small load ~ 8000 lbs and the truck just liked running at 1500-1600 rpm. The 10 speed trans just seem to keep it there and the truck pulled hard. Never the less, the Derringer sounds like the tuner to get and Gale, you are a hell of a salesman!

    Great videos!! With the SCT tuner, did you try an email tune from a good tuner? Or just use the crap can tune? The whole point of the SCT is to get a tune custom to your vehicle. How do you tune for larger turbo/injectors? Can it handle taller tires? Re gearing? Does it tune the transmission to handle the extra power? I do like the idea of it monitoring itself!! If it can do all that, are you planning on designing one for the 6.0 powerstroke? I learned a lot about manifold air density from you. Interesting, when did manuals start coming with park? lol

    I don't have a Derringer, but I DO have the iDash gauge on my 2016 F-350. I LOVE this thing! I even found out I can monitor the air pressure in my tires! I had a boatload of Banks performance equipment on my old 97 7.3. I'd still have it were it not for my wife constantly complaining about how we needed to upgrade from "that old truck". So I did some bartering, and got a whole bunch of concrete work on our property for the 97, and found the 2016 at Carmax. I'm actually a happy camper now, so all's well that ends well. I'm a Gale Banks fan for life!

  • @frankclark7039
    @frankclark7039 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Great tuner! Just keep in mind you higher mileage trucks. I have 120k miles on my 2017. I go overboard on transmission maintenance. Changing fluid and filter every 30k miles. But level 5 and 6 slips the tranny and defuels the truck to keep from damaging the transmission. That’s a great feature but scares the hell out of you when you pass somebody and the truck falls on its face in the other lane. Been playing it safe with level 3 until I can get a increased pressure solenoid for the tranny. Great product though.

One of the few doing real world testing with no BS involved. I love to personally tune my own truck, it gives me great pride in knowing it runs perfect and is tuned properly. I feel as though few guys care about all the fine details like you and myself. This is a great product for those who don't have the time or knowledge to tune their trucks themselves. The Ram-Air intake for your 2017-19 6.7L will be available this Fall. And you're right, the Derringer, intake and exhaust make a wicked combo. Question- if a trucks firmware is flashed for DPF to be inoperative. Would the Derringer still be able to do its thang?

    Wow i am very amazed this is quite the product you guys have designed! This really takes tuning to a whole new level that’s never even existed. I’m really curious now though so I’ve gotta ask, do you guys have anything like this for gas trucks? This technology is way beyond anything I’ve ever seen and I’d love to be able to tune my gasser with something like this in the future and try it out for myself!

      Yes we do. Right now the Derringer is avilable for the Ford EcoBoost 3.5L F-150 '11-'16.

      trouble is though these are altering fuel rail pressure, not such a great thing increasing pressure in these as they can split. But the system does look sweet though.

    I have a custom EGR/DPF tune in my 2017 f350 that's probably 30hp. Never been on a dyno. 4 inch exhaust and a cold air intake and aftermarket muffler to keep it quieter. Truck runs clean and strong. No gauges on the dash, looks stock. I also probably gained 1.5 litre per kilometer in fuel economy. Sometimes more. I'd be curious to try this tuner to compare. Does this tuner delete egr/dpf?

    • @bankspower
      @bankspower  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Derringer is not a flash tune nor is it a programmer. It doesn't change the firmware in your ECU, nor does it give you the ability to delete any emissions equipment. The Derringer modifies fuel and boost in real-time. It knows what it's doing because it's monitoring the engine and transmission functions via your OBD diagnostics port. With the Derringer you'd see a a bigger gain in power and torque and you'll your factory warranty. Dealers can tell when an ECU has been flashed and they typically void the warranty. The Derringer is easily removed and undetectable after the fact. It's the safest tuner available. But don't trust us. There are hundreds of diesel shops installing Banks products. 👍
