I wish I could just walk into his clinic and say, "What is the safest way to make my skin look its best" and just have him do it. I would trust him to do the right thing. He always seems to recommend the most conservative, holistic, least invasive approach. He's generous with information, has a lot of experience, and really knows his stuff. He cares about his reputation. What more could you want from a doctor.

One of my supervisors (age 52, smoker) uses tanning beds often - everybody sees it and he looks terrible, his skin is very wrinkled and brown. It looks simply blah. His coworker is 51, doesn't smoke, doesn't tan and looks 20 years younger

My husband is 50, as per his line of work, lived in the sun, never even a droplet of skincare, couldn’t care less about about this word sunscreen, smokes probably more than a pack a day..
It’s really incredible, his skin, his body, his face, is glowing and golden and flawless, except for three tiny little wrinkles round eyes, when he smiles big.

You made me feel a lot better about starting skin care a couple years ago while already in my 30's. As a guy, no one freaking told us to wear sun screen. My skin has lost 10 years of wrinkles from sunscreen, tretinoin, and a violent amount of moisturizer in the last two years. The pictures of me 5 years ago look like how I'll look 10 years from now, its like a weird view into the future.

Hello Dr. I have rosacea. It is mild and shows only on the tip of nose and nostrils. I treat it with a facial wash for acne. I wash only the part that is affected. As soon as I see a spot of redness I wash it with the acne wash. Then I wash my whole face the regular way. The redness disappears within 2hrs-48hrs. I asked a pharmacist for a wash for rosacea. He suggested an acne wash because it has a certain medicine that helps rosacea. I forget what it is called. I use a tube of acne facial wash for months because I use less than the size of a dime. I have to keep an eye on the expiration date. Hope this helps.

Start taking good care of yourself, and start doing the basics. You can lose weight easily, safely, and effectively with Weight Watchers and intermittent fasting. You can take care of your skin by starting with DAILY sunscreen, vitamin C, tretinoin, peptides, etc. Stop smoking by listening to Marisa Peer and Paul McKenna hypnosis twice a day to reprogram your subconscious mind. Listen to Dr Joe Dispenza to reprogram your brain, too Don’t say that you can’t do it because of autoimmune diseases, age, hypothyroidism, etc, I did it, and you can, too. Please discuss it with your medical provider, of course.

@Christine, if it were me, I’d put the way I look on the back burner and would just focus on finding inner peace, happiness and getting healthier. I’d try to make a conscious effort of relaxing and enjoying each moment in life as much as I can. Having the right music in the background as you go through your day can help a ton.
Have you looked into holistic ways of treating Lupus? If just working with a medial doctor, I’d for sure look into alternative treatments.
In the end, though it helps, feeling attractive can’t make us truly happy, and at the end of our lives, it doesn’t matter. No one thinks when we die, “If only that person had been more attractive.” 😆 They think about how we made them feel and what we contributed (or didn’t). It’s all about love.
I hope things get better for you!! ❤
