@@Phyllip21 Just go Templar, shit is a breeze with totems lol That’s the class I started with going in blind, on a seasonal server, and trying to craft my own build; got past the first boss/area pretty easily.

PoE is the greatest ARPG ever made. I know people will always say D2, and that's cool. If you like D2 than play PoE. It took a lot of cues from D2. But it has expanded on what end game should be in an ARPG by so much, that's it's depth is incomparable. It is not an easy game though so be forewarned. There is no hand holding, you will need to follow a build guide, and you will die, a lot. You will get frustrated. But you will also discover just how insanely good PoE is in the process.
BTW I'm not just throwing this out there after playing for 50-100 hours. Sine the day Bliz asked if we had phones I have clocked almost 3000 hours in PoE.

As a f2p POE player, I can confirm the accomplishments you accomplish in the game do give adequate rewards based on the time and effort you put into it..
we are all f2p, maybe only stash tabs gives some QoL so you got space to hoard and never touch that stuff again :D

@@Rufgaudas The only critism i'd say is that it would SUCK if you didn't buy stash tabs. But, the nice thing is you need to play through the game for a few hours at the very least before considering a single stash tab buy. And by this time you would know if it was worth spending a few $
@@Exroth I've only once spent enough time to actually need some different tabs like currency and maps and such, and ever since then they've just been nice QoL features that sorts things for me

yeah, I only played it years ago and tried to make a thief that stacked evade over 100% just for the troll so to speak, but it was so big that I gave up playing when I got to the desert caravan somewhere. I don't recall exactly, but I don't have time for massive games any more hahaha. Gameplay videos it is!
As long as you're willing to get a doctorate in PoE, otherwise you're going to have to follow someone else's build if you want to have any sort of success in the end game

100 hours and it's still basically the tutorial phase. Not exaggerating either. 2300 hours and i am still learning. Love this game

@@zoe4amyeah... I went fuck this and looked up a build guide. Had a lot of fun, though didn't go past maps 5 as I had other stuff to deal with and felt daunted to come back in other leagues.
@@zoe4am GGG even said that it's kinda intentional since if the tree is scaring you away the rest of the game won't be for you either.
PoE is my favorite game of all time. I go back to it every now and then, always great.

To be fair, PoE has about 20-30 USD of rather impactful p2w (a map tab, a currency tab, a premium tab for much more conviniently selling your items, and mb a 6-pack of tabs for storing more items).
And also, free visual character customization is practically non-existant
But thit is very much acceptable for a free to play game

I only have like 450 hrs in PoE but yeah, that's easily the most time I've spent with an ARPG in my life. It's good :)

They're among the few devs left who actually play their own game, listen to feedback and communicate with the community, not to say that they also acknowledge their mistakes and fix them; more than that, they are also not afraid of trying new things with the game every league with the risk of "upsetting" the playerbase and then act accordingly to the feedback for what can be polished, improved or removed.
No matter what anyone says, they are and have been for the past decade some of the best devs in the industry and they have built a ton of trust and respect from the community.
Also do you want a game where the devs make no mistakes? Fuck off, cause you will not ever find it.

i try to play PoE last 2 patch.. indeed its a fun game etc but i just feel overwhelming with the stuff that i need to do and learn/understand.
This patch they even add things related stuff to old patch/story line. Personally i feel that it have high learning curve for a game or maybe im just that stupid.
maybe you should try to follow a build/guide first
The learning process and understanding how many new things u will come up with, how many mistakes you will do and every league u will correct them, make the fun mate, I am 7k hours in, and it is like a good movie, wish I would forget everything and start fresh, ahh nostalgia )
It's hard to get into for sure. Just pick a guide/build and get through the acts and into maps first. I'd pass on the league mechanics you encounter on the way for now until you've learnt the basics
here is a hot take, the game is so because if once you discovered everything ,the game will cease to be fun and have no depth, you already ventured to the abyss and now the abyss just another ditch. my suggestion is...take it slow, play it your pace, fail it your own way, dont compare yourself to streamers
@@Kiwiplaylist Oh wow 7k hours and you are playing it.. my max game was like 2k. the mistakes in poe will make me either delete my character or i will need tons of the orb that can reset skill point. Like my first ever character
i just build it from my limited knowledge and because of it i think i kinda stuck at lvl 70+ content. well not really stuck it just hard to kill the enemies. so i delete my character and make a new one with a build that i follow.
Anyway, ty for the advice maybe one day i will try again by buying some starter account at lvl 80+ with build ready.

I tried to solo this game many times but I always end up with a glass cannon build :( I also think it kinda sucks that the endgame is exponentially harder to a point where it becomes clear that you should have followed a build guide.

That was actually fake news, there are women with good tiddies in the game but they're NPCs. The playable ladies are pretty modest and classy, though the Witch exposes her feet like a harlot.

Poe is a Game that will make you start questioning a lot of things....for example why the fu** is Archnemesis still in there?
PoE is great game, but it have a problem, when 95% builds ends with 1 aoe clear spell and 1 blink spell.
Isn't this basically the end-game of every mobbing build in any ARPG? It's just what is most optimal, AoE clear and movement.
it's an arpg... most min max builds in an arpg tends to be 1 button kill for trash mobs and short rotation on bosses so that the player can focus on dodging boss mechanics... poe just do this way to early in the end game compared to others
PoE also has pretty glaring basic user experience issues. It's bizarre how they STILL haven't included customizable built-in loot filters and autopickup options that pretty much every other modern ARPG has. Preventing botting isn't really a good reason since it's not stopping bots anyways.
PoE is also needlessly harsh about respecign passives, people talk about huge passive tree a lot but I think the biggest barrier for new players is that they aren't really given much room to experiment with it.
Still a good game, but with caveats that make me understand people who can't get into it.
@@current9300 the lack of respecs is certainly what my biggest issue is. As a new player, if I make a mistake in my build (which I will, I'm a new player), then I will have to start an entirely new character and grind all over again..
That's what I like about it clean gameplay with a small amount of buttons during mapping is so relaxing instead of having to manage 10+ active abilities all the time

10k hours in PoE over the years since beta. Not a lot compared to the streamers, but do I like the game? No... I love this game.

poe is no mmo, you only ever meet/see other people without asking in towns/social hubs, but everything else is instanced specifically for you or your party. teaming up is 100% optional. You can play it all solo

They also just swapped the mechanics of two equally rare dropped orbs, removing a vendor recipe allowing you to get one of them completely, thus taking a giant shit on RMT players and drastically increasing the cost to RMT. And unlike Blizzard, they WILL permaban you for RMT after only one warning. Best ARPG out there.
RMT doesn't matter, it only affects GGG's bottom line. No one who plays this game gives a shit about RMT. They just laugh at the RMT whales with mageblood and 500ex gear who struggle to clear red maps. If you think this change is a good thing, you're either dumb or ignorant.
What this does is no one will divine gear anymore, unless it's a mageblood or some other really rare item. Rolling timeless jewels will be a massive pain in ass. Because metacrafting has been switched to cost divines, hardly anyone except the 0.1% will metacraft because divines are so rare now. Because 6Ls no longer sell for divines and there are no div cards for divines. Divines also never had harbinger shards, so that option doesn't exist.
Drop rates are in the shitter, metacrafting is even more prohibitive now, new harvest is complete dog shit. All we're left with is heist.
GGG thinks this will incentivize people to use exalts to craft, but they also don't know shit. Most people didn't exalt their gear in the past not because exalts were expensive, it's because it's completely random. People used exalts more for metacrafting because it's deterministic. The level of RNG is far lower with metacrafting. Esp with harvest keep prefix/suffix. That's why old harvest is so popular. Current harvest may as well not exist.
I'm sorry but it's not the definitive best. Grim Dawn is ridiculously good especially for old head diablo 2 fans.

Except stash tab and currency tab is almost mandatory to have give that the game only give two free tabs. And trading require you to purchase tabs in order to list items.
No it doesnt you can list free with 3rd party apps 🙂 tabs are just easier 🙂
no it's not... if you are just trying the game to see what's it about then default tabs are enough. you can kill both searing exarch and eater of worlds without needing extra tabs. the stash tabs only becomes mandatory if you've decided that you enjoy doing what you did in order to the two end game boss over and over and over again

Diablo 2 is also a game. D2 is so much a game that when you open it, it becomes morbin' time. Definitely the most game of all time.
As much as I LOVE D2, POEs end game is lightyears better. But to be fair, without D2 there wouldn't be a POE. So, i respect them both for what they are. I've played every ladder so far on D2R btw.

Grim Dawn is better and I will fight you on that. I played and thoroughly enjoyed PoE but Grim Dawn is pretty much everything I hoped D3 would be. The major difference is the pace of combat in PoE is a lot faster and I feel like positioning matters a lot less. I'm just an old head former D2 addict though I suppose.

I like the title of this video because this is what i have been saying a long time now, most mobile games aren't really games. They wear the mask of a game, they look like a game but they are nothing but a scam. Imagine playing chess and the pieces move automatically and do their own thing and the game plays itself and the way you get closer to being successful in this hypothetical chess is by paying for stuff in a cash shop. Imagine having to pay for pieces like the Queen, which obviously would have to come from a random box, so that you would have to pay for that queen several times over. And then you ofc would have gems that go into that queen and sockets that can be used to improve the gems that go into the chess pieces and ofc then you would have to collect fragments to improve that queen and this would all come from a bunch of different currencies that would have to be spent inside a cash shop to make you lose track of how much money everything is actually costing you.

Some games i dont really mind the QTE because it's more of visual experience where the story is the focus and the interaction comes in the form of little things sorta like a choose your own adventure kind of thing.

if you are a new player i recommend starting with a build guide from a youtuber.. Zizeran Mathil or Tarkecat usually has good ones. After following a guide u ususally start to pick up and understand stuff on your own and can experiment as u get more accostomed.

I just wish PoE wasn't such a clusterfuck of systems on top of systems. It's too bloated to get into.
I agree, the trick however is to pick and choose and to simply ignore 90% of the mechanics when you start out, since you don't really need them to complete the acts and get into maps anyways. And once you've familiarised yourself a little you can check out harvest, delve etc.
I wish PoE is more friendly to players who were previously hardcore but then went casual.
I started playing in 2014, ran seasonal content for 4 years, burned out, and my current time wont allow it either.
I would love to play softcore, if GGG could just do something about my 9999 stash tabs of previously ran leagues. (Like convert all stash into some sort of practical currency for generate untradable sandbox item for trying builds)

I wanted to try the game, and I found out that the a lot of people is quitting the game and complaining about it... Why?
They made a lot of stealth nerfs without telling the players. Basically in end game people would combine old season mechanics to multiply the loot. The have massively nerfed while saying the complete opposite in their trailer video. The new season is also underwhelming. That combined with monsters still being overturned and their lackluster response to it and left a bad taste in people's mouths.
Path of Exile is one of those games where they do *almost everything right*... But then they fail in their microshop. Everything is insanely high price and people actually support this kind of behavior, they could have everything in 10-25% of their current price, get 1000 times more sales because of it and make more money but instead they stick with very high prices for the few whales. I just dont get the mentality and logic behind it. On top of that if you actually want to be active player, you are pretty much FORCED to purchase things (bag expansions etc.) in order to play or its going to be annoying af to manage everything. I still think PoE is good, I just hate their market system and this is the reason I dont really play the game, I have no interest in paying for something like that.
This game is truly crazy and insane in the current market.
