I am about to undertake a Fractal North build with Lian Li case fans made the decision after watching your videos have been looking for a Lian Li AIO fan conversion for my NZXT kraken and here I am again. Awesome content man
This video is an illustrated answer to some of my questions. I don't like having to buy some more cables but, at lest, the solution is logical end effective !
Thank you! This is a very specific problem, but I appreciate the video! Who wouldn’t want all matching Lian Li fans?
The fact that you spend so much money on these fans and for an adapter cable that they know we will need costs EXTRA is ridiculous.
Thanks for the video and info!
Just discovered you recently. Your Lian Li Lancool 216 build video was very thorough, so I went and bought it for my new build. Just wanted to thank you, it's the best case I've ever owned and I'm quite happy with it.
Now if only Lian Li's argb fans weren't so expensive 😂
Thank you! Glad to help. And yeah, they aren't cheap but they're worth it imo.

These vids have been very helpful for understanding the fans and argb hookups that were kind of overwhelming me on my once-every-5-7-years-build. Thank you! The vid aesthetics are great too, great color and background, clear shots of the cables, very nice. You are doing a great service to many!

@@TheProvokedPrawn I just re-read the re-read the Z73 instructions and it clearly states, if you use the "AIO_Pump" header to disable the "CPU_FAN" header in the bios...I answered my own question....If appears you are also using the AIO Pump header and Not the CPU_Fan header, so you must have disabled in the BIOS as well. Do you recommend AIO_PUMP Header over CPU_FAN header or vise versa?
Thankyou for the advice, I have been looking into purchasing these fans as they look aesthetically incredible, but I was wondering how I would be able to have the 2 on the AIO cooler plugged directly into the motherboard rather than using the hub controller specifically for the cpu fans. Your video has clarified that for me. Much appreciated 👍
Would you be able to make a video or maybe quickly explain what software to use or how you are able to sync up the fans and the cooler? Basically just wondering how specifically you sync up the RGB with everything given icue doesn’t work for the fans and they are combatting softwares.
Quick question can I run these Lian Li UNI FAN SL-INFINITY 120 RGB Triple Pack on a icue H150i elite LCD xt the same way u did it so I would have to buy the cable kit correct?
Hey so I’m getting a Nxzt 360 mm aio and I’m gonna use these fans with the controller and I was wondering if all I have to do for the aio is just make sure that it’s connected to power and that the pump is connected to the cpu fan header on my motherboard and my other question is if I have to worry about all the other cables that I would need to plug in if I were using the lian li fans do I just leave them unplugged since I’m not gonna be using the Nzxt Fans?
The cable that comes in the ARGB kit is a bit different than the one you have, it’s a y splitter cable. Is it ok to plug one of the splitter cables into the fan power and leave the other unplugged?
Can I still connect old fans (AL/SL/SL Infinity) to the controller that comes with new versions (ALv2/SLv2...)?
Do you know if i can plug the aio sl fans into 1 control box, all the other fans into the other. Then plug the aio fan into the cpu fan header and plug the rgb cable from that box into the other one? I only have 1 rgb header on my mobo
By connecting the aio directly to the motherboard how would you control the pump fan speed? And would it also show in the l connect app?
Did you use the screws of the NZXT KRAKEN to screw the lian li fans?
where can you get those converter cables? Im trying to connect single pack reverse blade fans to the aio controller but the connector the single pack comes with only has the motherboard cable for rgb.
wassup man will these work for the SL 120 Infinity fans as well?
I have the three pack with the ARGB cables, but no splitter cable. Kind of lost on how to connect everything.
So theoretically, it will still work by plugging directly into the Lian li controller. What benefits come from buying the argb adapter kit??
Will there be rgb from the lian li if i buy the aio without rgb
This is my exact situation i been trying to figure out
Great video! I just bought this AIO and it came with the controller and in the video you were saying that you could use this controller to also connect other Lian li infinity fans in the case to. Do you have a video on how to do this? I have 6 single reverse 120mm infinity fans but they didn’t come with a controller
th-cam.com/video/W_ApiN_Wueg/w-d-xo.html
What cooler you have?
Ok I got it all plugged in like this now but I still have no control over the rgb on the cooler fans. They’re still at factory rainbow. The rest are all good.
Thanks for the video! I'm still a little confused with my situation though. I'm looking to replace the fans on the cooler master ML240 with reverse infinity fans to create an intake CPU cooler. Wouldn't I just be able to normally connect the pump cable into the pump header on the mobo and the ARGB for pump head on to the mobo as well. Then with the infinity fans I connect the cable into the CPU fan header on the mobo so it talks with the pump and as for the ARGB cable I just plug that into a Lian Li hub to sync with the rest of my Lian Li infinity case fans? Do I still require this adapter cable?
Sure
Hello, can you assist… i was thinking of getting the 360 infinity trinity, but also need 6x reverse single fans and 1 x normal infinity fans, can i connect all into the controller that comes with the new AIO and if so, how would i connect them all?
I’m wondering the exact same thing.
Can you control the Nzxt Krakent 360 cooler display with L-connect software from Lian li or do you need to use the NZXT Cam software with the Kraken NZXT rgb controller?
For NZXT-specific features like the LCD display, you still need to use Cam.
I only have one question about the new fans, are there deeper more rich color options or are they all rather pastel like what you show ?
Watch the end of this video and you'll see examples th-cam.com/video/1II5_-0oByE/w-d-xo.html keep in mind it looks brighter and more washed out on camera than irl.
With this set up, is there anyway to have the Lian Li radiator fan speed controlled based on corsair AIO liquid temp? I fear having the fans tied to CPU temp, will cause them to spike in RPM on short cpu loads.
what i recommend doing is buying 3 single packs for the rgb and pwm splitter connector, and buy the lian li argb kit, what this allows you to do is connect the pwm connector to your aio and the rgb to the hub, this ensures that your fan will sync with your temps. the argb kit comes with a dual rgb splitter that connects to your sync port on the hub.
Would I need this connector kit if I’m tying a lian li reversible 3- pack to the lian li Galahad ii lcd cpu cooler? Asking as I’ve read a review stating that the connections between a 3-pack and the cooler’s controller box are incompatible… which if true is asinine.
Thanks in advance, you are an awesome instructor btw!,
Do you know the answer to this? I have the reverse blade 3 pack attached to my deepcool LT720 and just now amI hearing I need to buy another cable. Will that adapter work with the reverse blades and the uni sl-inf l connect 3 controller?
To what should I set the aio cpu Fans( changed to sl infinity’s) if I got not adapter cable and all are directly connected to the controller?
i connected the PWM fan cable that comes from the controller to the cpu_fan header and it worked fine for me. or, you can leave the fan cable connected to a regular fan header on your motherboard, then go to the BIOS and set it to ignore CPU Fan monitoring, which also gave me no issues
I don't understand how you control all the fans through L connect< maybe because its 5am and I'm tired and I'm not in the right mind to understand. also I have 16 fans that I wanna use for my new build, can I just use 2 controllers and control both from the L connect or does it only recognize 1 at a time?
it can see both, you should see them both highlighted in the software if you have the latest version?
This kind of confuses me at the same time... I'm fine with going into BIOS and ignore cpu fan if its controlled a different way cause why would the water cooler sell with a controller but then say we actually suggest you use your motherboard for the pump... which is frustrating plus I dont think the temps are right or accurate. So then I moved my 3 fans I have set with my radiator on exhaust to the cpu fan if that works with the pump better. So, then the software I have 2 *3 sets of intake of fans that control RGB and fan control on their software, but then I have a water cooler pump I can design/ choose rgb on software as well as 3 more fans from my radiator, but their fan control is 0 meaning you have to use BIOS or MB manufacturers software to control just one random group of fans... Is that correct? Cause that is so stupid to me if so. I want everything on my app and I can look on there before when my CPU is 70 degrees but 0 RPM fans but the liquid temp is 29... So im just confused how to get this to work. I wanna plug my pump and everything into controller and then that bottom right plug in on controller next to the usb... I can run that splitter connector into cpu fan and a 3 pin into rgb maybe? And using this gigabyte x670e board theres no AIO pump connector so idk whats even best for it. i found a fan system 5 *pump* said next to it which maybe thats what needed. I just want to get easy rgb control with monitoring/ keeping cpu temps where they should be. Sorry for the long message I just dont get why AIO dom
Hi, so i’m trying the same thing. But i dont see that adapter cable to connect the rgb cable of the lian li into the L connect hub. Was it in the box?
It’s a separate purchase, rn I have it connected to the hub with just the single cable (so the hub controls the fans and led). It’s like $20 I think for the cable pack
I currently have 10 SL Infinity units, all linked to an SL Infinity UNI Hub, with three units attached via the Galahad AIO Pump. One cable from the Galahad is connected to the AIO_Pump, while the other is connected to the SL Infinity UNI Hub. However, I encounter a CPU_FAN error upon booting my PC. Would it be more appropriate for me to connect the SL Infinity UNI Hub's cable to the CPU_FAN header instead of the CHA_FAN header? What's the best course of action in this situation?
You can just disable that CPU fan warning in the bios if you prefer th-cam.com/video/fz_mL7nhelo/w-d-xo.html
@@TheProvokedPrawn Thank you so much for your helpful advice. The video link is very informative, and I appreciate your quick response. I'll try disabling the CPU fan warning in the BIOS as you suggested.
Hey there! I have a question. I have 2 triple packs and 3 reverse fans. Am I able to use a different controller for the cpu and for the other fans like 1 contoller controls all the fans except the one connected to the CPU? I dont want to spend more for a cable kit and since I have 2 contoller then that might work. I could use an early answer to this cuz Its kinda urgent lmao ty for the help tho
I'd like to do the same thing. Has it worked for you?
@@Fraxtaru eventually got the cable kit,cuz I didnt have enough rgb plugs
So I don’t have to do it this way? I can just plug them into the controller does this still mean I can control the fan speed and rgb etc. thanks!
From what I understand in L-connect it shows the "groups" of fans you have and you can adjust the fan curves or profiles there for each group.
The cable you show as being out of the argb cable kit @ 2:28, that’s a single cable with a 3 pin male end and another end for the controller, however, none of those seem to come in the argb cable kit? Where do i get that cable?
Did you ever find it?
The one that came in my kit is a splitter that has 2 of the 3 pins on it. Can I leave one unplugged ?

s there a impler cable than this I don't want to occupy one of the 2 extra non fan ports on the controller ( I might need thos efor a 24 pin and 3x8 pin stimmer) I rather use one of the 4 fan port connectors instead because I plan on getting a second controller for 3 ore reverse fans ond only haivn 3 fan on each controller so I can get full compatibility wiht signla RGB
don't they have a simple cable that can spit the flat 7 pin into a ARGB and PWM so that I can connect the 3 pin ARGB into the flat fan connector on the contorller and the 4 pin PWM into the cpU fan hgeader on the MB?
Hi mate cracking video as always. Could I do this with kraken elite aio and 3 lian li tl fans 😊
For TL fans you'd have to use the fan controller and not the pump head or CPU fan connectors for the fan. Then in the L Connect software you'd simply need to set the group of fans connected to the radiator to change speed dependant on CPU temps
Hello! I am using these same fans for my NZXT Kraken Elite 360 rgb water cooler. Instead of buying another cable for plugging in like you demonstrated, can I potentially just plug the fans from aio directly to the L3 connect controller just like the rest of the fans?
I’m wondering the same thing 😭
Lmk if you have an answer I wanna know too 😭
Yes, at end of video was stated that this method with the adapter was his preference. But will work either way, just have to make sure you set the fans on your aio to cpu in l-connect settings.

Out of curiosity, why do you prefer bypassing the controller? why not plug the fans into the controller. then plug the Controller into the CPU header and set the controller to MoBo sync?
Then you'd be controlling all the case fans as well from the CPU header?
@@TheProvokedPrawn sorry. That was a badly articulated point. Why wouldn't you want to do that? Surely having all of them pulling and pushing in sync would be a global net positive? Do you have the rest just on a fixed rpm or reactive in any other way?
@@epicsabba Ideally, you would want the exhaust fans to run a little slower compared to intake fans. In that way, cool air will stay longer inside case without being carried fast outside. Another thing, top mounted fans don't need that much high rpm as hot air naturally goes up. Another great point is well, noise. You want your fans to be as silent as possible. It will be annoying to hear your fans go jet engine once your cpu produces heat.
@@TheProvokedPrawn My question is woulf this work I mean would it work on first boot with a brand new build
I don't mind that it would control all fans from the CPU fan header because I would be using a separate controler for each set of 3 fans anyways because that is what signal RGB recomends you do to have full contorl over these fans and I want the option to be able to use either L-connect 3 or signal RGB with full features.
so in that scenario or one where you want to use signal RGB with all the options you will need to use one controller for every 3/4 fans anyways
I just want to know if I use the optional ARGB and PWM connectors fromt he L-connect controller optional cable and plug the PWM into the CPU header on the MB and flip the switch what will happen with no L-connect 3 software or OS installed?, will the fans be detected as CPU fans and spin up or do you have to install windows and L-connect 3 and configure it to use the BIOS instead of L-connect first for the fans to work as normal CPU fans using that optional cable or do they just work with that connector out of the box?
I the argb cable kit it comes with a y splitter cable that has the 3 pins on them. Can I just leave one of them unplugged? Yours appears to only have one plug with the 3 pins on it. And it’s confusing me. Lol

Thank God my AIO has a cable that goes from the pump in the CPU Fan Header. So I don't need this extra cable. 😅
I don't understand your way can you explain again
Use lían li fans on the aio. If u bought a single fan and a pack of 3 (the pack comes with the hub controller and the single fan comes with the cable tht separates fan and rgb, but your still gonna need to buy another cable) then u just let the fans led be controlled by the hub and the fan speed controled by the aio
Paid £300 for 10 fans doesn’t even come with all the cables
Huh? There would be 4 cables only. Either u got it off a weird website or your mistaken.
Found out the hard way... Then saw this comment.
Did you find a way to get a new cable or anything cause I as well don’t have the cable and can’t find any replacements
What cords are u talking about ?
Yk I have a feeling that comment was actually a pretty funny ironic joke. Yk. Cause the fans don't have cables. Okay yeah you get it. 😂
I’m lost😭😭
I spent 25$ on the kit, “ARGB Device Cable Kits” and not one cable is a one to one match of the one it looks like you’re using. Really annoying trying to figure out what to use when the instructions for these are so garbage
