Hey guys - I am aware of the delay in the music video. It's a bit of an anomaly and is the first time it's ever happened. The delay was not there during recording, so I didn't know it was there until after the video was uploaded to TH-cam. I'll be looking out for it next time, so it doesn't happen in the next video.
"Vocally well endowed." LOL, I won't argue. Love how impressed you were with this arrangement, which so many others are, going by the viewcount. This is one of my favorite Geoff songs now-- and this is an artist who doesn't do bad songs. Thanks for reacting!
Pretty freaking epic, huh? A masterpiece! Those arrangements!!!! Not to mention the video. And that chord at "Raising the Sound" where the bass comes in delayed and goes up a semitone instead of down, like wow. Very cinematic.
Thanks for this reaction to Geoff's epic Christmas release. I have run out of superlatives! A five octave vocal range is a powerful thing. I enjoy the way Geoff arranges music nearly as much as his vocals. Judging by his album art, the Geoffquakes did some damage! We owe a BIG thanks to Kathy for making him do this one! It was just Geoff and Kathy on filming day. He "edited like crazy" and released it to his patrons three days later.
Never ignore a cat, lol. Mine would not tolerate it. Congratulations to the coming family member. This month I got told I'll.be a grandmother in May. Thanks for your R&A. Geoff said that the fellow at the very right, Daryl was probably drunk at the set. As he always calls himself 'old and boring' I don't know if to believe him here.
It is true that Goeff is talented but he works hard to expand on what he has naturally. His musicianship and skills are beyond excellent. He is a total package through his work ethic.
This was epic! Geoff hit god level on this one. VP was sponsored by WARFRAME to reimagine Party of Your Lifetime for the updated game release. Don’t miss that one because while everyone killed it, Layne proved again he’s not human. It’s his best vocal percussion yet IMHO.
All one has to do is look at the cover art for this song to know what is going to happen. The cover art for this song perfectly describes what this song is. It is NOT your fathers Carol of the Bells. The cover art shows three bells laying in ruin after a major -earth- GeoffQuake!
I wish someone explained in more technical terms what makes this song so special. Peter mentioned chords that he used in one of his songs, but I don't know more about what you said would take hours to explain.
I’d be happy to go into it briefly for certain stand-out chords happening in the music. Typically I don’t, because there are many chords within any given song, and breaking those down quickly becomes a time-consuming task, if you have more than one to break down. I will start looking for opportunities to do a quick chord analysis in upcoming videos, so people like you can learn a bit more about them. 🙂
For some reasons, Geoff's video is ALWAYS out of sync 🤔. Kind of annoying... But I'll survive 😅. Your speech, on the other side, is always on sync... Maybe some editing issue? 🤔 Anyway. Yup, this is maybe the best arrangement by Geoff to date, at least that I know of. What a video and what a performance. Loved it. ❤ Thank you for the analysis, there's always to learn from your stuff. 🙂 See you next time!
@@WraithW69 quite odd.... this is the first time i've ever watched one of his reactions where anything is out of sync. I wonder what the issue was with it.🤔
*TECHNICALLY* versions of this song that include "Merry Christmas" only bear a semblance to the original pre-Christian Ukrainian version of this song. 12tones does a good vid on the history of it.

I love your videos. This wasn't in sync, so I just...looked away a little, it was kind of challenging cause you paused almost every two seconds 😅 I just asked myself....can you feel and enjoy the song when you are pausing that often? I know that this song is soooo great and complex and everything, but...can you get the vibe when interrupting this often? Dont get me wrong, I love the analysis, the talking, but.... isn't it hard to feel the song this way?
Surprisingly, I have no issues enjoying, feeling, and/or listening to what is going on in the music with the frequent pausing. When I listen to music, my brain is processing what is happening a lot faster than I am speaking, or when I am physically taking time to pause as often as I do.
Ok, more "thoughts" than reaction. In fact, so many thoughts that Geoff`s video insn`t in sync anymore after not even a minute in it. Sorry, I`m going.
What that means, is this: Has his low notes descended past the lowest notes on a piano? The question and answer to it require nuance and context to accurately answer… With his true chest voice? No. With his subharmonics? Also, no, but he’s quite close to hitting notes that do not exist on a grand piano (which has the largest range of any keyboard or piano, offering very low and high notes not available on some pianos).
You must be new here... Allow me to clear this up for you, and anyone else that is new to my channel. I stop to talk about what is happening in the music in my "reaction and analysis" videos frequently, and I state this at the beginning of nearly every video I release. I do this to help people better understand music at an elementary/intermediate level. If you cannot handle frequent pausing, or simply wish to remain musically ignorant, then perhaps these R&A videos on my channel are not for you.

Geoff's epic bass caused it lol

Yes. It's truly epic levels of Geoff.
And loved your frisky kitty's cameo appearance
Love to listen to a fellow enthusiast of Geoff's talent! Thank you for your (always) informative reaction! Happy holidays to you and yours!

yeah. Peter wore the vipers a few times.
for a worthy reaction, imo, Good Evening Stories summed it best: "Geoff, your musicianship is showing".

audio was a bit out of sync. when you paused the audio from the video kept going for a second

Has Geoff fallen off the end of the keyboard yet? Vocally, I mean,..This choice is came from his wife. What does that say?
What that means, is this:
Has his low notes descended past the lowest notes on a piano?
The question and answer to it require nuance and context to accurately answer…
With his true chest voice? No. With his subharmonics? Also, no, but he’s quite close to hitting notes that do not exist on a grand piano (which has the largest range of any keyboard or piano, offering very low and high notes not available on some pianos).
@@EthanDrewMusic Good explanation. I think he has 3 keys to go, but don't quote me.
Watch for Geoff's Jan drop coming. 🫠
You pause way too much
