    I bet getting all that sand out was super tedious work. Lol
    Awesome video as always! Can’t wait to see the final product.

      Thank you! It is tedious work and makes for pretty boring video... I have a lot of footage of us just spinning the car around and around on the rotisserie but it didn’t make the final cut in editing! 😃

    Hi cool project 💪🏻
    I’m starting my 931 race car project and building my first rotisserie.
    I can see that you put your balance point is about 8in above the bumper mounts on the rotisserie. Did that keep the car in balance when you flipped it?
    Hope you will help out here 😊

      931 race car sounds like an awesome project! The balance point is different for every car, but keep in mind that most of the weight is on the bottom of the body. It helps if the arms attaching the car to the rotisserie are adjustable. If the car is properly balanced it makes it easier to spin. Thanks for watching!

    GREAT JOB how did you not damage the factory galvanizing of the body with the sand blasting and grinding ?

    • @RebuildRex
      @RebuildRex  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sand blasting with most medias and grinding does remove the galvanizing. The only option I know of for stripping and retaining the galvanized finish is to use chemical stripper which comes with its own set of problems. It is kinda choosing the lesser of two evils... that is why we re-coat with epoxy as soon as possible to prevent any future corroision.

    How long did that take?

    • @RebuildRex
      @RebuildRex  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We recorded footage over a few days... but the actual labor was only 8 minutes and 45 seconds per the video. 😉

    How much did it cost to sand blast it?

    • @RebuildRex
      @RebuildRex  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The blaster get $110 an hour and it typically takes them about 4 - 5 hours. It really depends on how much material they are blasting off.

      Thanks, I bought a GeoBlaster (wet abrasive) to put my nephew in business but only ended up doing my own cars. Was either going to sell it or starting doing it part time myself. Don't have to worry about heat since the panels actually get cooler when I blast them

      Cool! Good luck with your endeavor! You should stay busy because our local sand blaster stays very busy.
