Premium+, remove the running boards and replace with rock sliders. Replace the All Season tires with Falken Wild Peak AT tires which are available in 255/55R20!
I have been waiting for the release of the GX 550 and watching every video I can to try to catch a glimpse of what to expect. I’ve even talked to my local dealer and not gotten this much information! I know these are luxury vehicles, but I think rock sliders would have been great on the Overtrail and Overtrail +.
Also the five seater variants are the way to go!

I'm torn between the off-road look and features of the Overtrail+ trim and the features limited to the Luxury+ trim.
It's annoying that the Overtrail+ doesn't offer the following options:
- dynamic skyroof (top of my list)
- rear climate control (really?)
- third-row seats

Thanks Jeff! On the Overtrail (non-plus) you showed the lumbar support control on the passenger's seat. Do you know if that's standard on the non-plus Overtrail?
Wondering the same thing. The price bump from Overtrail to Overtrail Plus is pretty steep.
Looks like he actually showed the Overtrail Plus interior when he said it was the Overtrail. When he showed the Overtrail interior it has Mark Levinson audio, which I don't think you can order in the regular Overtrail unless Lexus' website is incorrect.
Are all these the same length? Or are the 3 rows units longer?

@AutoJeffReviews Jeff - came across your video review array. Detailed, good info - the hard-copy print-outs of each trim with the options list - all in clear focus - was a great idea. I can pause the video and zoom in for the details - perfect. Also, your knowing certain details - for my wife, it's the massaging seats, after a hard hike in Colorado at 13,000 feet or here in Sedona, AZ - she will turn down a vehicle if that feature is absent. So, thank you for knowing that going into the segment where you show the seat/massaging settings screen.

Great questions: it's 3.74 inches wider this year (Overtrail is 4.52 inches). It's 2.75 inches longer and the wheelbase is 2.36 inches longer. Hope that helps! Jeff

The first thing I'm going to do to my Overtrail is remove the horrendous looking running boards.
I agree! Those things look terrible!! It looks like you option rock sliders for $995. I am assuming you can get swapped at the dealer. It's also interesting that the 3 row variants make for a flatter floor? At least it looks that way from the videos I have seen.
I wish I could have real leather in the Overtrail+…would be the No brainer choice for me…so may be Luxury+ instead but ???
Would love to see a review of real leather vs NuLux. Not only the wear characteristics and durability but actual sensory and comfort. My fear is the NuLux won’t “breath” like leather and, on long drives, be uncomfortable.

Does the adaptive suspension on luxury + is similar to ekdss on overtrail+?

I already see an issue that burned me twice. I had a Cadilac with Onstar and it was anolog and after just 2 years, anolog was shut down and replaced with digitable and NO UPGRADE AVAILABLE. I went to Lexus and their SOS system and Remote Assist was 3G and after 3 years, #G was shut down and no way to upgrade. Now I am shopping for a 2024 Lexus GX550 Luxury+ and I see on the spec sheet that its AT&T 4G dependant. Nice wording, "dependant". The writing is on the wall as 4G is old technology as our cell phones are now 5G. Is this designed obsolencent for a newly released vehicle to be equiped with old 4G. I want that SOS system and liked that I could check on my car, start it, etc. , from my cell phone. I'm hoping that Lexus fixes this over the next feww months.

Premium looks like it has matte black B pillar and window trim. Gloss black on higher models. Can definitely tell where the cost cutting goes when engineers/product planners go through these cars. Lexus wasn't like this pre TNGA. Same corporate steering wheel down to the NX with no woodgrain wheel option like the RX and the button layout on the wheel if you don't have advance touch is the same as a Corolla. Hood and fuel cap release, mechanical levers right off of a RAV4 lol

Wheelbase is 112.20 for all trims. This is 2.36 inches longer than the outgoing GX 460

I test drove it this past weekend. And I have no idea I don’t work for a Lexus dealer so I don’t have that answer. Sorry.

We already put in our deposit for luxury plus. All we got was a small paper receipt odd no order sheet just a little paper receipt 🧐anyone else get the same receipt?

@@davidl922 Its called common sense. The Tundra, Sequoia, Bronco, Tacoma, even Tesla's and every other manufacturer's cars have issues when they first refresh. The time you may spend on fixing the issue will take away precious time from you. Time you can use to make money or do other things. In fact, the "rich" need to have a new car is how poor people think. The scarcity mindset is how these companies make so much money.

Yeah but you keep adding in additional features here and there that people might want and now the price starts at 65 or 66 or 67 or 68......It's a tough fine line and I'm glad I'm not the one making those decisions haha

For $65k Lexus, you do not get a wireless charge, no fog lights, no memory seats but for the little Rav4 for $42k, you get a wireless charger, fog lights, and memory. I don't think this should be considered it's a Lexus, this is so cheap. I do not gotta pay $65 for it.
Thanks for your opinion and for watching. RAV4 is not even in the same ballpark as GX. Completely different cars. That is almost like saying might as well go with a Corolla because it might have a wireless charger as opposed to going with a GX. You might not want to compare your "apples to apples" based on individual features if the cars aren't anywhere close to "apples to apples"...I'm glad you're part of my channel! I love differing opinions :)

Do you think it's worth 65k and call a Lexus? To me, I think this is too cheap. I can see something like a massage chair and a panoramic roof not to add but wireless charge and fog light should be added, it's a Lexus. The name of Lexus doesn't mean anything now.
@@hlubkuv7I have never used the wireless charger (have a wallet back of my phone), and no fog where I live. Very niche needs, buy a Corolla.
Why does wireless charging even matter? It was shown all over TH-cam that wireless charging degrades your battery faster than wired charging due to heat.
If you really want wireless charging and it’s a non-negotiable to you it’s an added option on the Lexus GX webpage.

A bit disappointed with the exterior paint colors! The green (in my opinion) is the only interesting one.
The dash is too plasticky for a lexus. Great car overall but man they need to add some leather or stitching on the dash

Dealerships are starting the premium at 67k and go as high as 90k+.
Yeah the overland+ is going for almost 15k over asking price in Georgia. Can’t imagine the premium for other areas like cali. 😮 They ain’t learn from ford and it shows 😂
