Blud doesnt understand how flipping good spider verse is. Boy and the heron has zero chance against it

Spiderverse definitely at least deserved a nomination for best song as well as best score. But I disagree that Barbie should have been knocked out of the Best picture nom when Maestro and American fiction are on there too. They’re fine films, but they weren’t as insanely popular as Barbie. Plus Barbenheimer was a huge moment, it would be odd not having it there. Also Best Picture shouldn’t have to be only for serious films or comedies with serious undertones. if a comedy is an amazing comedy and extremely enjoyable I feel like it should be nominated for it.

I wish if Spider-verse won a oscar. But you should definitely give boy and the heron a chance. Miyazaki doesn't make film like the type of anime you said.He is great director who make great films

Good video but clearly you did not watch Maestro. Literally almost everyone agreed that literally any great movie that year shouldve been BP over that. It tried way too hard to get an Oscar which it didnt, but I think a movie that tries way too hard to apprase to the oscar voters more than anything is more annouing than any implication barbie brought up. Im not saying SpiderVerse shouldnt be nomonated because we could spend all day talking about how films like May December, All of Us Strangers, Spider-Verse and Boy and the Heron, literally couldve been picked over Maestro. But I digress.
Barbie is also in my opinion, the token fun movie, the type of movie that appealed to almost everyone, the popular pick. Even if it wasnt the best film of the year, it was undeniably THE film of the year, in the same way a film like Black Panther or Joker would. Barbie also seemingly touched a ton of people and various elements of its existence were not only refreshing to see, but also appealed to Academy voters for its inspirations and general scope.
I love Spider-Verse too, but its not like the Spider-Verse crew actively deserve another Oscar when they already did 5 years ago. Granted, it was pretty bull when it got snubbed for best score over indiana jones of all things, but i feel like in a less competitive year it wouldve made it in the top 10. Hollywood loved spider man, and from what i can tell, it was literally in like the top 15 in a rather compeititve year, and the fact that it was even considered a top 5 early on is kind of lucky to begin with.
Also regardless Best Animated Feature, it was really neck in neck. Ultimately, i think The Boy and the Heron did deserve it in my opinion. Please seek it out without your preconceived notions of anime (it really isnt all high school l word stuff). In the words of Chris Miller, "if you're gonna lose, might as well lose to the GOAT."

I'll give you a simple answer: Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse was a byproduct of a toxic work enviroment. If it was awarded, let alone nominated for Best Picture, the AMPAS would have basically rewarded a byproduct of a toxic work. If you had one shred of intelligence, if you had any shred of empathy for the people behind the movie, you would have understood and moved on.

I still remember the time when the Lego movie was snubbed and big hero 6 won best animated feature. Big hero 6 was still good but the Lego movie was a whole different level and because of “that was his mistake”

I would definitely like to see a video talking about the hypocriticalsy about movie sequels when it comes to movie sequels to movies everyone becomes a hypocrite alot of people say we love this sequel and a lot of people would say we hate this sequel and it should of had never existed like for example the spider verse movie everyone loved the movie but a lot of people complain that toy story 5 is happening and another thing some people say trolls world tour is a great movie which is highly debatable and then people slam a sequel to a movie nobody wanted like terminator

To be fair the Barbie movie deserves better as well. I've read a lot of articles saying that the movie has been snubbed from a lot of categories. So yeah, that's karma for you. Plus this isn't some random animated movie that no one remembers, this movie has fans, lots and lots of fans, this is considered one of the greatest movies ever made.
