Interesting, I could be behind the time but I haven’t seen anyone try a tuner brake on an AR platform. Thanks for the video man! 🇺🇸

I think I would go back an retest 5,6,7 in case 5 was lucky. I suspect 6 might be the right setting. But I could certainly be wrong.

Side note I just picked my up 110 switchback in 6arc. They came back in stock last week since basically being out since may or April. I bought bc of your videos. Well your videos helped seal the decision. Thanks man. I love that gt and that may be the next one when budget allows for it. I appreciate your channel. And let’s shout out a hodgkin for the haters. Lol

Thanks for the kind words. I hope your savage 6 arc shoots as well as mine does. Great shooting budget rifle. The problem with the Seekins is the action is so nice it really shows how rough and loose the savage actions are. They sure do seem to shoot though!

Great demo. Liking this brake. Thinking I will have to get one.

I use an 18" barrel, and want to try that on mine!

I would have stopped at 5 and shot a 10 shot group for a bigger data sample. See if it held up decently. I specifically searched this video type and there is no reason a tuner brake shouldn't be used on an AR if accuracy is your thing. I don't load so I use a tuner brake to tune my favorite factory ammo.

I have found that when I reload with LVR or CFE223 in my 6ARC I get more consistent velocity numbers when I use CCI450 magnum primers than with CCI400 standard primers.

I have been saving my 450 primers for 6GT and ARC right now. The grendel is going to be stuck with the 400 for now.

Would love to see a 6.5 Grendel and 6mm ARC tested with Winchester StaBall 6.5

I think staball is too slow for those cartridges. I've run the numbers for staball and the arc and they are not impressive.

@@RobsReloading thanks for the reply and input! I plan on running a Berger 105 grain VLD HPBT in my 6mm ARC for hunting. What is the best temperature stable powder you've tested?

@@CMR.718 I have found consistent results in my arc with Varget! That is really the only one I have used in a variety of different temps with minimal change in measured velocity.

@@RobsReloading thats what came to my mind when thinking about temperature stable powder! Thanks for the input and replies! Really enjoying the 6mm ARC, 6.5 Grendel & 6 GT uploads!

I have the 22 tuner brake. With the ammo I had didn’t notice a great deal of difference. Lot testing would have probably better.

    Hi Rob,
Great shooting! What brass catcher are you using?

  • @ryanberg3705

A single 3-round group is hardly an adequate test. Next time you should reserve extra rounds and do a 10-round series at that one setting showing promise and see how it does... Also, simply hand-torquing the tuner/brake on the barrel is asking for trouble: it will inevitably back itself off and throw your 'tune' out of tune... give it a good turn with a wrench to insure it's snug.
