I have been using it for a few months. Wish it had one for 20 cal. I am reloading 280AI right now. With Berger 150 168 Classic Hunter bullets. Just got the Franklin Arsenal digital powder scale. How do u like yours?
Awesome product that is always on my reloading bench. 👊😎🇺🇸
I have one and really like it .
You should switch to 7prc
@@bnicedanicest6288 long action vs short avtion
@ duh! I didn’t think of that 😂 it was still too early when I watched your video and the coffee was still brewing.
I always thought anything universal can be good at many things, but not great at any.. maybe this seater set can prove me wrong.. looking forward to more testing
Try n560, n565, n570, or the 160 and 165. The powder you’re using has too fast of a burn rate for that bullet. Would also be interested in seeing some 156 gr Bergers over n570.
What are the disadvantages of a universal type seating die? I've never really thought about it before but there has to be something to it for it to not be the norm I would love to see you shoot 10 shot groups of the same load, one group with bullets seated with this and another group with bullets seated using traditional seating dies.
I’ve been using the seater for a year. The instructions tell you what stem to use for the caliber.
Yep it sure does. Let me know which one to use with Berger bullets.
I bought one of these a couple years ago. I absolutely love it! Its super accurate, and very repeatable! I havent checked run out with it yet, but it makes some really accurate ammo!
Change the barrel
Where oh where did you find that " dummy" magazine? A very handy device for us single feed guys. Please help.

Haven’t been to Rayner’s yet. Love Thunder valley precision. Waiting for my dasher to be built by MPA to hear back out for 2025.
When the Bergara HMR first came out I wanted to love it. I bought one in 6.5 CM and couldn’t get it to shoot to my liking. I figured it was just a fluke so I went and bought another one. I put them both through load development and was going to keep the best shooter when I got through that process. I ended up selling them both because they both shot the exact same. Major let down for me.
6.5 bleedmor speeds , stupid .
Rob, you SD's are great. I had a Bergara that did the exact same thing. Finally sold it.
very informative. I was thinking about building a prc, but I just simply don't believe in quarter minute magnums. Unless you convince me.
That cartridge needs to be pushed much harder than that. 2950 to 3k should be easy.
6.5x47 can push 147gr projectiles to 2880fps.
Did someone say $314 bucks? OMG!!
You need try N560 and N565. N555 seem to slow.
Boring !!!
N565 and Magnum are my fav powders in the 6.5 PRC. Especially for the heavier bullets: 147g - 156g.
nice
seeing how the ace barrel shoots would be interesting.
I came across this video, do you think this guy is right about SD's. hes talking about how SD's dont mean anything. th-cam.com/video/ZnTlrkFQQWM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=upGkySrc_X0HzYF7
LPT: I like cratex rods to smooth out threads. the rubber forms to the threads and finishes it quite nicely if youre threading to fit and want a slightly looser fit, or just smooths out if threading to dimension
feed tray
I had the same problem with a HMR in 6.5 PRC went to Sako S-20 in same cal. and a CA MESA both shoot under 5/8 at 1oo 5 shot groups
My 6.5 PRC exactly the same but Howa, bought a Sako S20 , waiting for the licence, hope the Sako will do better.
Those are creedmoor velocities, I’d pull it off. Maybe try a 25 prc….
I may have missed it but do you measure from case base to tip or case base to O'Give the reason I ask is because my Berger VLD 115gr. 6mm bullets have an overall variance in length of 4k and an overall variance from base to O'Give of 2k you appear to be varying the seating depth by 5k so a 4k variance in overall length of bullet is quite a bit unless you measured all bullets to find equal lengths. just asking for my new 6mmGT
You should do a 300 wsm series
Your experience is EXACTLY the same as I have had with my HMR 308. It can put 5 into less than 1”, but then can’t group 3 in less than 1.25”. Have played with it for last 2 years and can’t get ANY consistency with it. Changed scopes, bases, rings, lapped lugs, cleaned paint off mating surfaces and NO improvement. I’m to the point of rebarreling and going to a 6 Dasher for fun.
Im getting an average of 2980 fps MV out of my 24" Bergara HMR 6.5 PRC shooting factory Hornady 143 EDL-X. Haven't tested the Bergers out yet, but I would look at the charge weight/capacity. Numbers seem pretty off, more consistent with an 18" 6.5 PRC.
Ditch the barrel. Life is too short and components are to expensive to waste fighting with a bad barrel.
Might be the scope, watch "Quarter Minute Magnums".
I think you need to up the charge weight.. you're getting the same velo as a 6.5creed. I think you should try getting it up to around 2900 and if it still doesn't shoot that yank it off
Cold bore shot? get the cleaner out? 1" from a factory barrel is almost standard now.
As with most of the cartridges that you load for you are running it to slow not building consistent pressure. Forget ES and SD when you are running a cartridge 200FPS slower than even factory ammo will do.
What’s up Robert
What’s up Robert
My opinion that could be a place to start since you have it to try. Thanks for the videos!
54.2 4831SC with the 143 eldx. ……2960 fps 😊…you can thank me later
send that thing down the road
Chamber the new barrel, way more interesting. Or take the factory barrel off and re-chamber it to see if your chambering is better than bergara.
the chamber job doesn't effect things that much. I know that's not what people online say, but they don't chamber barrels and putting. food on their plate doesn't depend on it. Id like to see how may gunsmiths have done a "bad" chamber job, and then done it "correctly" on the same barrel to see what happens. im guessing none.
Pull the barrel😊😊😊😊😊
With a case fill that allows the bullet to almost disappear from view if placed in a fired case with 49.1 grains of N555, I would not expect better. N555 is easy to light, thus the good small sample SDs. However, propellant position is erratic to say the least. Look at the VV load data, no N555 listings in the 140 grain bullet data. They are trying to tell you something. At approx. 84% fill and a propellant that is burning out at erratic points along the barrel length. N555 in a 7 PRCW is almost ideal, but just a bit too fast in a 6.5 PRC except for lighter bullets.
As you said, these groups aren't like what we typically see "on this channel". Some of us would be very pleased with groups like this out of our stock hunting rifles. However, if it doesn't draw a shooter like you to take it to the range as it is then try the new barrel. You already have it why not. Make for good vids and provide a demonstration for others as a test that good rifles can be bettered....or not. Thank you.
Go 7PRCW with that powder! With 180 bergers hybrids
Ace barrels are really good
Well first your 200 ft a second under what it’s supposed to shoot but also where you are at, you have good sd’s and could probably have something with some seating depth work
