With all due respect, this was a very unbalanced analysis of a great game. I am a big fan of the Star Wars ip and I thoroughly enjoyed Outlaws! The exploration was fun, the characters were fun, and the story had some great moments. The mission to save Nix was brilliant. With the emotional cracks from Kay genuinely drawing you in. Sneaking into the various Imp bases all over the varied maps gave a real sense of just how much control they had over the galaxy. And I really loved that. The leveling system should be praised for how engaging it was! Rather than accumulate xp, you have to achieve certain actions in the game in order to unlock them. You also met ND-5 relatively early in the game and have many interactions with him throughout the game. I love how as you progress through the game, his greetings and the way he talks to Kay soften and change. If you listen to the conversations that take place during hyper-jumps you'll see this development. And all that aside, how could you not talk about how fun Sabacc was!? 😅
11:00 It would be difficult to set a canon level in the Jedi Temple during the Imperial era because, although we haven't actually seen it yet outside of the comics, it has canonically been converted into Palpatine's palace and home during his reign unlike in The Force Unleashed where it was simply left abandoned. It would have to be a purely stealth infiltration level, maybe the Star Wars version of Operation Valkyrie with a failed assassination attempt? Otherwise, unless they pulled something as badly written as Vader Immortal, we'd either have to be playing as an Imperial with access (Thrawn game anyone?) or it would have to end without us getting out alive. That said, I love Star Wars Infinities and would be down for a "What if?" scenario.
I just "finished" Outlaws, really what happened is I was just playing the game organically and I got the "Are you sure you want to continue this is the last part of the game" warning. I was shocked, like "nah you don't really mean that", so I kept going. I was then completely on rails for a couple hours before it was over. I was truly shocked at how short the main quest line was (and it turns out, you don't even need that much progression to finish it easily on normal difficultly). I only had good faction on two syndicates and had unlocked maybe half the "abilities" people.
@@nelzart6609 Yeah, Jedi Survivor seems to have been made by people who wanted to tell a story and were passionate about the project. But everything I have seen from Outlaws bores me and I don't feel that magic spark.
i think star wars outlaws completely sucks and is soulless but i have to say this feels like a pretty unfair comparsion. like trying to compare football and baseball both have running and balls but entirely different sports. Star wars jedi survivor is a dark soulsish game while Outlaws is something weird and entirely different but having similiar things but i still think it isnt a fair comparsion
Ubisoft never fails to be compatable to Bethesda with how low effort they make their games feel. If EA, one of the greediest entertainment companies in the world, makes a better Star Wars game with little monetization and an engaging story, that's a problem.
I gave up on Fallen Order because it was more of a puzzle game than anything else. I'm still quite early on in Jedi Survivor and while it doesn't seem as puzzle heavy, it does make it quite difficult to work out where to go as the visual clues are often the same as regular environmental items. I've not played Outlaws and I confess I don't have plans to. Ubisoft games have reached the point where they just don't feel special, they feel like a skin thrown over something pre-existing. There was a hint of that in Odyssey which I probably looked past because I'm a sucker for Greek mythology.
I understand what people are saying but both games are different. I personally thing rhe game is good there's loads of thinks that ace about the game.people complain far to much and no one will want to make games because it won't fit who evers narrative.
These games are not comparable. One is an open world, one is not. This makes a lot of difference in terms of level design, story telling, missions system.
I started Outlaws. Big ol waste of money for me. I'm only prob around 15% through but I can't bring myself to continue. Survivor, on the other hand, I've played it over and over, I love it.
Hopefully us one day.Because they can't keep getting away with the b4stardisation,niga-fication,reification,& dilution of our favorite pieces of media. They're taking existing stories & turning them into propaganda/advertisements,likee catholics do.
I really want to see a quality comparison between Space Marine 2 and sw outlaws You know... A game made with heart and compassion by fans for fans vs a mediocre soulless garbage made by people who haven't done anything good for more than half a decade and just helped in the murder of an already dying franchise... Edit: 2:49 is peak sw outlaws/ubisoft
They're totally different types of games how could you possibly compare them? I've played both. I enjoyed Outlaws. SM2 is good but you don't feel like you're living in the 40k universe. Does that make it a "bad" game? Absolutely not it's a blast. But there are definitely things I wish SM2 did in terms of immersion which it doesn't do.
It was difficult for me to keep an interest in the game in some ways.. I didn't play it first of all, the very beginning of the game up until after you break into the mansion and several other key points such as when Darth Vader appears in a short video that was kind of cool.. and I like the fact that this actually has a way for Kay to make a passive income on tatooine. I can't really say it very much and I don't want to complain without actually having had played the game.
survivor without crunch would have been absolute banger bokas game you can feel that the developers had a plan... hope they will release the next game finished :/
I play Survivor for the story and Outlaws for the eye candy. Survivor's story is better than any modern Star Wars movie or show (except for Rogue One), but its awful stuttering performance on PC kept me from really enjoying the game. Outlaws however runs and looks amazing - I enjoy just being in the Star Wars universe; the travelling from space to planet and vice versa does give me goosebumps. However underneath the slick presentation, Outlaws is pretty awful - the main character is annoying, the gameplay gets old fast, the stupid unlocking puzzles are infuriating. I do like that the game is very accommodating; lockpicking can be turned off, can fast travel between planets and not need to get in your ship, can manually save your game almost any time when not in a mission or enemy territory.
I actually prefer Outlaws at the moment since it's unique. I always wanted a Han Solo like Star Wars game. Survivor is just another Souls rip off with a Star Wars skin. I don't get all the hate towards Outlaws. I'm old school, and dont care about the same gameplay loop as long as good, and engaging. Atleast, you can switch stuff up with all the sidequests.
i didn't play outlaws but i can tell jedi is better the reasons aren't only the bugs and optimization jedi has better gameplay and fightings jedi has challenging enemies and level bosses. you have cool powers and light saber and better blaster parkour in jedi feels like you're doing something but in outlaw seems like the game is basically playing itself. i have always hated assassin's creed type parkour, i wonder why Ubisoft removed their OG prince of persia type parkour where every button has different function in parkour. the thing that i love the most in jedi survivor is the horizontal wall running. i have always been a big fan of prince of persia and jedi kinda reminds me of prince of persia.
Jedi Survivor only hit PS4 this last month. It was never intended for the PS4. Also this game was developed by Respawn not Dice. Dice developed the Battlefront games and the reason why they said it wasn't possible is because both Battlefront 1 and Battlefront 2 aim for 60fps on the PS4 and Xbox One
@@crestofhonor2349 yeah… I was talking about Jedi Survivor, they are not DICE but if they want to make Coruscant as accurate as the movie, they would have the same issues. Outlaws is just a peace of sh*. For Battlefront 2 the devs scan the entire cities and environnement models from the movies
@@flo9894 Survivor fully has the capacity to depict Coruscant as it was in the movies. Hardware isn't an issue with depicting as it just would take too much time. Video games just stream in the data so it wouldn't be a problem. Battlefront 1 and 2 only scan objects as they used photogrammetry. It's just a method of making sure you can get all the proper material properties of an object in the game. You'd be surprised how many games used photogrammetry today, they just don't talk about it. Battlefront 1 only made a big deal about it because it was new back in 2015 as things like PBR(Physically Based Rendering) was a new thing in that era. Scanning real world objects was done to make the world feel more realistic and to sell the look of star wars to the player

Its litteraly perfect.
Unpopular opinion: Star Wars outlaws is a good game with flaws. People hate on Ubisoft and I don’t like them either, but the crime faction leveling and the open world es of the underworld under the empire’s rule is very cool.
Outlaws is open world ubisoft shlopp with no sense of direction or progression. You just get a bunch of to do lists and get thrown into the world to work them off. Survivors is an open hub world game with Metroid and Zelda influence where your progression is clearly shown through new gear and abilities as the world slowly opens up more the more upgrades you find. There is a sense of exploration and wonder that a mere bucket list doesn't provide. More players are slowly warming up or rediscover this kind of game progression and world design.
Two things I hate about Survivor: The godawful animations. Cal is so jittery and animations are in no way fluid. They look odd and downright hilarious at times and it breaks the immersion for me. The way Cal snaps to a direction when you try to move makes me feel sorry for his bones. The maps are way too confusing and I often get stuck because I have no idea how to go where I'm supposed to go. Doesn't help that markers don't exist.
I like Star Wars Outlaws. Good for what it is with the stealth. You feel vulnerable in Outlaws too. Meanwhile in Jedi Survivor with a lightsaber, you feel nearly unstoppable
Unstoppable? There are literally hundreds of youtube videos of guys smashing their controllers because of Survivor. What drugs are you on to play THAT good?
@@yozora1047 even on Grand Master difficulty, it's still easy if you know how to play. Once you get mind trick, then you can get enemies fighting for you. Use healing stims wisely. Analyze enemy attack patterns and don't get greedy. Jedi Survivor on Grand Master is easier than Eldin Ring.
@yozora1047 You want a hard game, try Jedi Outcast or Academy on Jedi Master difficulty. Your shields start at half strength. Nar Shaddaa is awful once the Snipers who vaporize you show up.
When the main character can use force, a lot of things can be easily justified .... They should have made that girl force sensitive but not trained to be a user.. At least things like her ridiculous stealth ability or her super punches are more acceptable
...Her ship is called the Trailblazer? ...I can't even. Also, it's probably for the best Vader was just there for a paycheck in Outlaws. If he actually interacted with Kay, then she'd either be absolutely powerless (unacceptable for Disney) or make him look like an idiot (prove to the last diehard fans that the franchise is dead.)
Since playing on release I haven't run into a single issue and I am 60hrs into the game and have been doing all the side quests and jobs I can get my hands on. I am on the 4th planet and still have loads to do. The settings are fantastic to edit what QTEs and puzzles you want to do. Before launch the PS5 had plenty of issues and since the patches they are no longer there anymore. I get not liking Ubisoft however the studio Massive Entertainment did amazing with Avatar Frontiers of Pandora with the graphics, sound, lore and immersion. They have done it again here. This game is very much worth picking up.
I feel like you are being unfair in a lot of respects perhaps to slant towards Jedi Survivor here? - Outlaws has environmental puzzles as well and lots of them, you missed these? - The open world in Outlaws is empty, did you explore? At end game I found 2 entire facilities the size of imperial bases just on Toshara alone. Both of which had very interesting story and gameplay elements. Did you search with the geo-locator at all? Plus there are several bases in space you can land on. - You completely skipped over the mini-game systems in Outlaws and the way they tie into the game' story even - No stealth upgrades as you progress? There are several, a few that are quite useful as well did you even try them? - There are no choices at all in Survivor, not that these are really important in Outlaws, but they exist - As for characters and story, I'm surprised Outlaws didn't try to ham fist a romance in there like Survivor did, force you to play as someone other than the main protagonist or include a story element where you flirt with being "evil", all of which can be seen as weak elements by some Also the maps in both Jedi games might be the worst maps in a video game ever. I think that is a very important part of Survivor since there was an effort to try to support exploration.
As much as Nix is a babe I think as a "criminal" Kay should have had a cool and murderous droid assistant not a cutesy pet. It's a lost oppotunity to have something new. But they wanted to make money on toys for children too much I guess
I am shocked that the Jedi game has cooler blaster customization than the scoundrel game.

I would like to see you do videos on the Batman Arkham and god of war games in the future please. I never played them and I think you have a great channel to review them on if you want
The similarities between the two are way too similar for it to be a coincidence.
Something tells me there's some Disney mandates going on.
Game was made by low effort people.
What happened, Ubisoft? You used to be cool. (And funny [rabbids])
Space toilets are essential for any star wars game.
You missed to point out that the characters have the same look. Brown hair, blueish jacket, light color shirt, cargo pants.
Cal's hair is red
@@marcelUM1766 Really??? Still red hair is close to brown hair.

Same on my second play on Survivor. Still fun
Two evil companies, one franchise. Who will come out on top?!
Hopefully us one day.Because they can't keep getting away with the b4stardisation,niga-fication,reification,& dilution of our favorite pieces of media. They're taking existing stories & turning them into propaganda/advertisements,likee catholics do.
Survivor
@flandrew so how many hours of video games do you play in a week?!?
You are wrong, Outlaws is a Quadrouple A game. According to Ubisoft 😂
Imagine if Respawn did the combat in Outlaws it would probably be amazing
I think it’s a more fair comparison to put Outlaws against Fallen Order, as Survivor carries almost all the gameplay elements from that.
Both companions have the same wide head aspect ratio of an American Football aka Stewie Griffin to induce that "awwww" factor.
New Flandrew video. Thank you!
Survivor is better
I really want to see a quality comparison between Space Marine 2 and sw outlaws
You know...
Wow, the outlaw class is OP. It takes Kal, a jedi with a light saber more time to take down a stormtrooper than Kay with bare fist . 🤣😂
Love them both but like Outlaws just a little bit more.
I needed this video, thanks
Outlaws: boring, bland, broken, buggy mess
Jedi survivor: fun but buggy
You're welcome
Didn't experienced any major bugs in Outlaws.
You haven’t played Outlaws
They're both bad.
Yeah you deffo didnt play the game sheep
@@Dead4911survivord is ahead of many things than the woke outlaws😂😂
What about your review? It the spoilers, history spoilers, I want to know everything about Outlaws
It has a Sword x Pistol fighting style? Kyle would be proud^^
Drew played SW Outlaws so we don’t have to!
I didnt expect much from ubisoft so I already planned on buying it on sale for 29 dollars
survivor without crunch would have been absolute banger bokas game you can feel that the developers had a plan... hope they will release the next game finished :/
Which is the game that is more-so "made for the modern audience" please? That comparison was missing from the video.
Dare Disney to make a Kyle Katarn or Dash Rendar game.
BD1 outclasses a fluffy rat hands down
"But we ticked all the boxes"
Glad i get to play without getting a new console. Im waiting on the next gen series x consoles to come out before i upgrade.
So this is actually Massive entertainment (Outlaws) vs Respawn entertainment (Survivor) How much is in the publisher's control?
Jedi’s survivin’ (Great video!)
Jedi Survivor is somehow better despite it being smaller scale and more linear than Outlaws
i didn't play outlaws but i can tell jedi is better
the reasons aren't only the bugs and optimization
jedi has better gameplay and fightings
jedi has challenging enemies and level bosses.
you have cool powers and light saber and better blaster
parkour in jedi feels like you're doing something but in outlaw seems like the game is basically playing itself.
i have always hated assassin's creed type parkour,
i wonder why Ubisoft removed their OG prince of persia type parkour where every button has different function in parkour.
the thing that i love the most in jedi survivor is the horizontal wall running.
i have always been a big fan of prince of persia and jedi kinda reminds me of prince of persia.
jedi survivors was way better
Jedi Survivor couldn't have make a "realistic" Coruscant due to PS4 limitation hardware. That what the devs of Battlefront 2 said.
It's just skybox
@@okoproroka1561 If you played Battlefront 1 Cloud City, you know it is an actual recreation of the map and not just skyboxes
I played fallen order on the xbox but haven't played survivor because I don't have a next gen console. I have a computer that can handle the new space marine game, somewhat. Would it be able to run survivor at a decent level? The game looks amazing.
Jedi Survivor is on Xbox One and PS4 now PC version is heavy but knowing your PC specs would be nice
@@crestofhonor2349Thanks for the message.
I have Intel core i7-800K CPU at 3.70 GHz. 16gb of ram with GTX 1060 6bg graphics card.
@@helikos1 That probably explains it. The GTX 1060 is a low end GPU these days so from what I've seen playing on a 1060 laptop is it tends to be around 30fps but no more at 1080p
I love Star Wars but after like 4h of Outlaws i stopped playing i lost interest in it so hard. I am glad that i only payed 18bucks (I subbed for 1 month for Ubisoft+) instead of buying it for 70. Waiting now for Christmas Sale and than maybe i buy it again but meh.
Compared to Jedi Survivor, Outlaws is trash. I played Survivor 3 times even in NewGame+ and i loved every second of it. Its litteraly perfect.
You can do a comparison with the Avatar games (James Cameron movies) and decide which one is the best
Jedi survivor is leagues better
Only UbiSoft could make EA look good.
Outlaws is the type of game I'll only play if I get it for free
Nix is a space Mudkip.
Two things I hate about Survivor:
The godawful animations.
Exactly
Potato Vs SAW
I like Star Wars Outlaws. Good for what it is with the stealth. You feel vulnerable in Outlaws too. Meanwhile in Jedi Survivor with a lightsaber, you feel nearly unstoppable
grandmaster changes that
Unstoppable? There are literally hundreds of youtube videos of guys smashing their controllers because of Survivor. What drugs are you on to play THAT good?
@@robertoj.9509 Bro probably played on easiest difficulty.
Beeg Yoshi
When the main character can use force, a lot of things can be easily justified .... They should have made that girl force sensitive but not trained to be a user.. At least things like her ridiculous stealth ability or her super punches are more acceptable
Outlaws isn’t the best Star Wars game. But I’d be lying if I said that I didn’t enjoy it.
...Her ship is called the Trailblazer? ...I can't even.
I think ima play survivor first
I feel like you are being unfair in a lot of respects perhaps to slant towards Jedi Survivor here?
- Outlaws has environmental puzzles as well and lots of them, you missed these?
- The open world in Outlaws is empty, did you explore? At end game I found 2 entire facilities the size of imperial bases just on Toshara alone. Both of which had very interesting story and gameplay elements. Did you search with the geo-locator at all? Plus there are several bases in space you can land on.
- You completely skipped over the mini-game systems in Outlaws and the way they tie into the game' story even
- No stealth upgrades as you progress? There are several, a few that are quite useful as well did you even try them?
- There are no choices at all in Survivor, not that these are really important in Outlaws, but they exist
- As for characters and story, I'm surprised Outlaws didn't try to ham fist a romance in there like Survivor did, force you to play as someone other than the main protagonist or include a story element where you flirt with being "evil", all of which can be seen as weak elements by some
Also the maps in both Jedi games might be the worst maps in a video game ever. I think that is a very important part of Survivor since there was an effort to try to support exploration.
Biggest difference: Survivor is a game
6:20 lol Air Exchange from Half-Life 2 Beta
As much as Nix is a babe I think as a "criminal" Kay should have had a cool and murderous droid assistant not a cutesy pet. It's a lost oppotunity to have something new. But they wanted to make money on toys for children too much I guess
