The dagen story line is pointless and under written. they downgraded the skills for the double blade, single blade, and combat in general to put in multiple stances that aren’t even balanced. Force powers aren’t as effective or in some cases useless on a large percentage of the enemy types. graphics aren’t even that much better than fallen order. Quick correction on the use of tanalorr. Cal was never planning on rebuilding the Jedi order there or training younglings. The planet is meant to be a base for the hidden path, the network that cere and Cordova worked with to hide and transport those who were persecuted by the empire. Cal at this point seems to have given up on the idea on rebuilding the Jedi in full as evidenced by his relationship with Merrin, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see him train Kata as a padawan in the third game just based on Cere’s dialogue in the game’s last cutscene.

It immediately became my absolute favorite Star Wars game ever.
Technical issues aside, the story, gameplay, the mechanics, ridiculously lush and content-filled open world…..
    I absolutely adore it.
People may say their favorite thing in a Star Wars game is to fight, kill, save the Galaxy.
And that’s fine, but to me…. Populating a bar full of characters, side stories, mini games and taking care of a little roof garden and fish tank is P E A K Star Wars ❤️

When rating a game, you should separate it into different categories. Like me for instance, I played it on Xbox and started playing it in the Tuesday after launch. I only had one crash and didn’t noticed the frame rate issues. So my rating wouldn’t account for the performance issues because I didn’t see any. I know about them, but didn’t experience any.

I love how and why Cal taps into dark side. Writers did a good job, because during his rage scene on secret base I could completely understand his frustration and anger. They manage to connect feeling to player even with how players use "ultimate" ability - you want to win, and you need more power to this, so you use dark side. And this power is tempting, just like Cere said.

Make it as girl power as heck. And have some trans characters and other minorities in it and make sure it’s well written and respectful of cals character ark. I don't think Cal is going to end up training Jedi on Tanalor. All he has left of Jedi teachings at the end of the game is three Jedi books and his time as a padawan, and he is already abandoning Jedi dogma with his relationship with Merrin. Not to mention that Merrin would likely be training recruits in the ways of the Nightsisters. I think the next game ends with Cal and Merrin forming a new Force religion, based on a mixture of Jedi and Nightsister teachings, and them eventually spreading into Wild Space, so as not to brush up against canon.

Legends Luke had a wife, an eventual son, and even tussled with using the dark side, and he was Grandmaster of his own Jedi Order for decades.
The whole point of what he was doing was to abandon the archaic and outdated Jedi dogma to both improve upon the important parts and create his own rules. I mean, his Jedi Battlemaster not only had one of the most insightful philosophies of the Force I’ve probably seen in any media, he carries a blaster for Pete’s sake.

I guess there's many possibilities for how Cals journey might progress in a third (and final?) game: a) it ends tragically with him dying or sacrificing his life for the greater cause of the rebellion while the game possibly weaves into a New Hope as did Rogue One, b) he actually turns to the dark side which would be a really dark and twisted ending to his story but could still be amazing if told the right way, c) he goes into exile / gray Jedi path after being almost turned to the dark side, or d) for this same reason, he leaves it all behind and starts a new life with Merrin far away from it all. That last one I guess could be the most poetic because it builds upon him accepting that the Jedi are gone and him putting an end to the constant fighting while following Greez' advice to settle down and finding a new home after all that he's done - not in the sense that he's giving up but that he acknowledges that he has done "enough" and that one man can't change the whole galaxy without diminishing that as an individual he can still do good on a smaller and everyday scale.

Elden Ring still makes me sad, it felt like they tried to lean too hard into the “dark souls is hard” thing and crossed too far into bs (as in input reading). Sekiro did the same thing (a good example being Genichiro, he charges a bow shot whenever you try to heal) but in Sekiro it allows you to defend yourself if you act quickly, also the later areas in elden ring borderline require over 40 vigor for anyone who doesn’t play the game consistently. I think they had a great idea, but the enemies were overtuned in terms of damage and input reads/seemingly rng combo extensions, while they made the player overtuned as well, but more so by making weapon arts ridiculously strong in some cases

I never trusted Bode so his betrayal was expected from me. I mostly blamed Disney villian syndrome where they always seem to pick someone who is helpful and friendly to be the villainous betrayer. Thankfully Bode has more complex motivations than that, but I think they were trying to do the whole "Odin is in the Kitchen" thing GoW did.

I’ve only had 2 big glitches, 1 being during rayvis’s death, i couldn’t take it seriously because he was bouncing around the entire screen at light speed. And 2 during new game plus found a glitch where if you leave the workbench and immediately take damage, you leave your lightsaber on the bench. I recorded me using that one and it was hilarious, he was just deflecting blaster bolts and blocking with air. All around one of my favourite games of all time, and I’ve played a lot of story games

Played it through on my Xbox and had a total of 3 lockups where I had to go back and restart. Two of them was when there was a ton of things happening on the screen at the same time and I believe it over loaded the ability of the Xbox to keep up. Third one was when I got my character some place in the game by jumping around where he’s not suppose to be able to get to. That being said I explored all the planets and got from 93.3 to 100% on all of them which I think is pretty good and only having three crashes. As far as the game goes I loved it. It did for me any way exactly what the developers said they were going to do. They took some things out that most peeps didn’t like and added a lot more of what we did. Great game and best stat wars game I believe I’ve played.

And yet, here I am, 4 months later. Still not finished it. I just enjoyed Fallen Order so much more. Not that Survivor is bad. It really isn’t! Jedi Survivor is mechanically brilliant and builds on the first in so many ways that, by rights, I should have binged it. I actually really enjoyed the gameplay loop too. The combat was a joy!
I have two theories, although I accept it might be both…
The first is that perhaps Fallen Order was just such a refreshing formula for a Star Wars game that I felt more inspired to keep playing it. You know when a franchise tries something new and it just feels great? There’s something so great about that feeling. Like when you love a new film or game so much that you’d genuinely pay money to have your mind wiped so you can relive that experience. That was Fallen Order for me. I loved it. Maybe it just gave me unrealistic expectations for the second game and I put it on a pedestal.
The other theory I have is that I don’t think the story clicked with me. Usually I can look past story in a game if the mechanics are there but I think it just didn’t pique my interest like the first. It wasn’t even that long ago I was playing it and I’ve already kind of forgotten some of the key story beats. I think got to somewhere around Jedha after bringing something back for Cordova (?). At about this point, I got distracted by a completely unrelated game I’d already finished in the past (Yakuza 7). I’ve done this before when two new games come out within a few weeks of each other. However, for me to go back to a game I’d already finished is quite unusual. It kind of confirmed that Survivor didn’t get its hooks in me the way the first one did.
It probably doesn’t help that I have zero investment in the lore surrounding the High Republic. I felt like putting a character in as the villain who’d been kept in stasis for years was a bit of a cliché. It just felt a bit random. Cynically, I have no doubt that Disney “encouraged” EA/Respawn to tie the game into that era. I think they want the High Republic to be more mainstream over the next few years. For example, there’s that Acolyte series coming out soon, which I guess they need to start generating a bit of interest for.
My cynicism aside, I AM planning to go back and start reading around the High Republic a little because I am a sucker for Star Wars at the end of the day despite all its flaws. Perhaps that will inspire me to finish off Survivor.
TL;DR Survivor was objectively great but I subjectively didn’t love it like I should’ve. I suspect story is to blame but may also have been my unfairly high expectations. Will give another shot soon (once done with BG3)

I played on pc using a keypad. This game is better than the first. It took me about 60 hrs to complete and during all that time I never, not once, experienced lag and I only encountered one bug (bad guy's cape was stretched across the room). It's a magnificent game. Spectacularly beautiful and characters I really cared about. It's intuitive, relatively easy to navigate. I just basically started exploring and let the game develop naturally. Top 10 all time gaming experiences (minus a sadistic developer on a couple of the force tears minigames). It breaks my heart that so many people are hating on it because it's everything they promised and more. That being said, you need a good computer. But you always need a good computer to play these types of games.

I only got to play up to getting the droid outta the basement but it was made fun and felt like it was a worthy sequel not just more fallen order, the game still feels like fallen order but has many new features and you start out actually feeling like you came from where you left off in the first game( while most games full reset you) but there were still new abilities to give the player progression. Only problem is the holo map still kinda sucks (and obviously the performance, the only reason I haven’t played more is because my Xbox is at home while my PC is with me at college)

Not a game to play IF ... IF!!!! ... you have a fear of heights! I didn't think I was agoraphobic before playing this game ... and I am not because, well ... I continued playing. But I must say that it tested me something AWFUL. The stress caused by the beautifully realistic scenes and the literal heights you have to climb in pursuit of your goal is REAL! I constantly had to tell myself to keep looking forward as I jumped or climbed or grappled to spaces. And sometimes getting back to a save point was DAUNTING, but had to be done because NO WAY was I going to do what I just did ... AGAIN! Beautiful game. Sad game. Well written. It finally made me understand the physicality of The Archives (really, their just glowing, shiny cases for the data chip/thumb drive/mini-cd containing information ... kind of like fancy library of CDs or DVDs). Well worth the time and the effort (didn't buy the Special Edition, as the outfit changes weren't a big deal for me). Am eagerly awaiting the final chapter.

The mention of the many jedi wandering around before the start of the original trilogy got me thinking that it would've been a spectacular idea to never tie off all those loose ends but leave them hanging for one last game or series of games where either you're darth Vader hunting down and destroying these threats to the empire or have it be like a horror type game where you're just trying to survive and escape as Vader is hot on your trail and could show up around any corner. The horror scenario would probably work best as a series of episodes in my opinion where Vader has nailed down your location and it's just a matter of time until he finds you or you escape into obscurity. I personally really like the idea of a Vader horror game even though I'd love to play as Vader, too.

It annoys me the ammount of people that complain that Cere was able to hold her own in her duel with Vader. She is a jedi master, and this idea of Vader as an unstoppable force was only in the EU until fallen order, yeah, he was powerful, but Luke with like a week or two's worth of training was able to get a few hits in during Empire, yes, Vader is powerful, but he isn't unstoppable, it would have been weird if Cal almost beat him, but not Cere.
Also, the villains were the weakest pat of this game for me, Rayvis stopped being intimidating to me after he threw a temper-tantrum in his first scene. Bode is sympathetic but not very intimidating, and Dagan actually killed me a few time during his boss fights because I lost my focus by laughing at some of his clichè dialogue, and that time he called Cal green for no reason. And it's just a shame because Trilla was the best part of fallen order, balancing menace and sympathy well with logical motivations, and an intellegance that always kept Cal on his toes.

I have however suffered from the game randomly crashing at different times. one of which was right after I defeated the traitor. because of that crash i had to do that fight all over again. before the crash i did it on the first try. the crash caused me to have to do the fight 5 times more, those 5 times i would've liked to be without.
Other than that, super happy with the game, the story is phenomenal. I did not see the twist coming and it was heartbreaking when it did happen.
