As you mentioned earlier in the video, Ray Tracing should indeed be treated as an enhancement rather than a fundamental feature in most games, and you're absolutely right. However, as someone who has studied game engines, I see a recurring issue: Unreal Engine 4. While UE4 was fantastic for many titles during the PS4 and Xbox One X era, it's now being pushed beyond its limits. EA Developers are trying to squeeze every ounce of performance and graphical fidelity from an aging engine, expecting it to perform miracles. This approach isn't fair to the engine's capabilities or the games themselves. For a game like a Star Wars style epic, the graphics engine needs to complement the art direction and scale, something a modern engine might handle far better. For that reason, Star Wars Jedi Survivor and any other Star Wars game will always have performance issues until EA steps up and tries something different.
@@AboutGamesSTV Thank you for highlighting this concern that resonates with so many of us. The Star Wars Jedi series has incredible potential, as you mentioned. If you take a look at some games developed using Unreal Engine 5, it’s clear that the engine has immense possibilities for open-world experiences, whether RPGs or action games like Star Wars. You might laugh 😅, but the issues with these big AAA titles actually led me to explore and experience other types of games, and I’m lucky to have discovered some incredible titles built with UE5, such as Fort Solis and Jusant. These games showcase just how promising UE5 can be when used effectively.
