    Hey Lonnie just subscribed! Got a question for ya. I had a standalone harness made by a guy about a year ago and I'm just now getting to it so I forgot the instructions he gave. It's has a fuse box and it's got wires labeled, 2 red wires say that go to constant 12 volt so these go directly to the battery positive side?

    • @LonniesGarage
      @LonniesGarage  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Correct but make sure they are fused incase something goes wrong.

    • @chrisjar1342
      @chrisjar1342 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LonniesGarage yeah the guy that put it together I believe has a lot of experience but can't get in touch with him. He added a real nice fusebox with relays and fuses so I'm assuming it's fused correctly. I've never been good with wiring so I'm a little lost. There is a wire labeled TCC and he said it goes to with the wire that has 12v when brake pedal is pushed, the thing is the truck is already without it's original wiring harness so how do I test which wire is which?

      Andrew Hernand no the motor was not a junkyard find. I bought a whole Suburban for 550 bucks. I pulled all the parts I needed such as motor transmission wiring harness and computer. It took me about a year to do it. I did all the work myself. I did not hire any work out. I would highly recommend anyone to do one of these swaps. The power plus reliability Plus drivability is a world of difference.

      It's not hard to get to 2k if your paying shop labor rates for someone to do the swap, esp once you get into making trans crossmembers work, driveshaft mods, diagnosing unforseen issues the engine/trans might have had before, etc

      It is a little confusing. The purple wire goes to the solenoid. You can run that red wire to the battery or the battery terminal on the starter. Same difference.
