Just as a little update on our plans for the near future - We have been doing our best to keep the games and commander choices varied while we've been recording these webcam games but we realize that we have been using the same decks frequently since we tend to use decks we own on stream. To alleviate this for the next little while, we will be focusing on recording the decks that we have planned as the Season 3 Pods starting in the next week or so. This will ensure that the commanders and decks are interesting and less repetitive. We will keep you updated if anything changes! Thanks for being so supportive while we've been working to figure out how best to work around this situation!
On Joseph's first turn in game one, what is the benefit of casting the Mana Crypt, without cast anything off of it? It seems like just giving his opponents a chance to destroy it or he loses 3 life for no reason. As a 0 mana spell why not just cast it when he's ready to actually use it?
Really love the new animation design Joseph! Great work! Cards in hand is easy to read, backlit with the white, the wooden plank border extension is clever haha dope
You guys should try a FIRST TO LOSE WINS THE GAME. I think it would be interesting to watch. You would have to make it entertaining, like no pact cards, no pay life cards, no cards that will simply make you lose the game, stuff like that. You guys do great work! I like your pacing of the commentating.
Do you guys stream it on TH-cam as well? I'll follow you to twitch, it just seems that YT notifies me faster when someone is streaming than twitch does.
I’ve always wondered how Bruna, Light of Alabaster would do in higher level play, it’s easy to equip her with protective auras that you can even recur with her if she dies, it’s in blue so you have access to counter spells and rift, as well as a good amount of card draw and tutoring in white to get the auras you need
I think it always comes back to the same problem: most of the time, your opponents have a full turn rotation to prepare themselves against you, and the ones that aren't getting killed first have multiple rotations. In Bruna's case in particular, because you're running so many auras to support her, you won't have as much counter/draw/tutoring as you would normally do. You'll also need a lot more ramp in a nongreen deck because of her 6 CMC, which puts an even greater strain in your control options.
She’s expensive to cast, any pod that’s smart will counter her or remove her ASAP and just shut you out the game. She’s strong in casual but in true cedh , no
Any commander that needs to attack to win inherently starts out way lower on the curve than most cedh commanders. White and blue have little to no access to haste (crashing drawbridge, yo!) So that also hurts her. You can't just flop her out, too. You have to wait to cast her until you can protect her.
I'm at minute marker 3:33. I'm predicting that Rielle is going to be the winning deck based off the opening hands. Also, her ability to draw cards is pretty broken so it should be fairly easy to control the game while digging for a wincon
Bad attack there when Nate decided to swing Yargle at the blue player (Joseph) when Bill also had no blockers. A bounce spell wrecks Nate/Yargle there because the Thrull Retainer that Nate just played to protect Yargle is useless if your creature gets bounced. If Bill had a kill spell in his hand and tried to destroy Yargle on the attack then Nate could have used the Retainer to regenerate Yargle. If you're going to play voltron you gotta attack smartly!
You should collab with Mitch and use some of his cheap decks. Ik they’re not “competitive” but it would be interesting I’m just saying. A wider variety of decks and content is always a awesome :)
Great video guys. I love your gameplay videos. Question because I see people do this all the time and I'm not sure if I'd be wrong not to. Joseph cast his mana crypt 1st turn with nothing to activate or cast. I know it is small but wouldn't it have been better to have waited till turn 2 so he had 1 less chance to take damage to it?
You play crypt even without using it when you feel there will be a wheel or some sort of hand destruction. 3 damage are nothing compared to 2 mana free :)
I don't know this Yisan list, but I am really confused why you would want to exile ESG for a Sphere on T2 when you have no parity and went last in turn order. Seems you are better off sitting out T1 to get Yisan out T2. The next player in turn order already had access to 3 mana before a land drop (likely 4) and then the next player had 4 potentially 5 mana. Not sure why the thought was to rush out Sphere as it is often best after landing your parity breaker (Yisan)
I don't know this Yisan list, but I am really confused why you would want to exile ESG for a Sphere on T2 when you have no parity and went last in turn order. Seems you are better off sitting out T1 to get Yisan out T2. As a Yisan player, can you provide your thoughts?
My deck is geared to be good in the long game, I'm ok not dropping yisan for a few turns in order to build a board that slows down/interacts with my opponents boards. This game, knowing what the other decks are like and with the banter we had about our opening hands, I felt I needed to try to rush out the sphere to slow the others down before trying to push out yisan and combo off
@@Sliver_Boi But you did this while you had no advantage on the other decks. It also hits you, too, but you didn't show anyway you were breaking parity. I guess I'm still confused why you did it
I don't think you can respond to declare attackers (tymna and master of the wild hunt game 1). Adam would activate master prior to moving to combat. Once a player moves to combat they can declare attackers - nothing to respond to.
Honestly the only Voltron i can see working in cEDH is either Yuriko or God Eternal Kefnet. Yuriko is nigh impossible to remove for any length of time, and hits everyone for bazillions of damage. Kefnet is relatively easy to set up infinite turn loops with his copy ability to just kill everyone by punching them for 4 each turn. Plus they both run blue, so they can interact with combo decks and protect their 'voltron' very easily. Maybe a Lazav the Multifarious could do work, but you need to immediately KO the player that has any graveyard or activated ability hate in their deck before it can come out, which come back to bite you in the ass. But since it can KO someone with 12 unblockable infect damage on turn 2-3 and still keep protection mana up, and potentially kill another player each other turn after? Could probably make the cut at a competitive table if you can get the ramp out real early
Knowing that the win con for Kroxa was Animate dead, couldn’t you, in resp to worldgorgers etc ability, used your wear and tear to destroy necromancy instead?
I'm sure it will get buried in the comments but I made a deck led by Dragonlord Ojutai that I think is the closest you can get to competitive Voltron. Taking a stax shell and fusing it with a card advantage beater has served me very well and it has a solid win percentage in a competitive meta. Check it out: tappedout.net/mtg-decks/zendeck-dragonlord-ojutai-controlvoltron/
Narset is still played in duel commander (1v1) I believe and there is a couple brews for Yuriko for this format as well, although they don't fully rely on only dealing commander damage to win just swinging with her and getting value through her trigger.
You can tell Adam doesn't really know how to play Yison very well because instead of casting that mana crypt he should have cast yeson and equips the grieves for haste then passed turn with mana available to activate his ability EOT and possibly win

When Yargle showed up you had me lol-ing
Who woulda thought that there would be a competitive yargle memes deck?
Let's be honest during the intro there, bill isn't casting that Ikra Shidiqi, he's just using her for the colors lol
Damn bill what a guy to start with no lands and mana rocks

The Main goal of this deck is to win the game😊

Hey can you make a Mana crypt counter for the bolts it does per game and tally them every month !
WOW RIELLE WAS SO GOOD! I like when you show new commanders like this....

Pls have an episode with just voltron decks
I love yisan so much. Almost as much as Gitrog!

To request a deck, how would one do that? And than be able to see it played?
This is the earliest I have ever watched a video.
You should collab with Mitch and use some of his cheap decks. Ik they’re not “competitive” but it would be interesting I’m just saying. A wider variety of decks and content is always a awesome :)
Also it would be a good way to show off the decks that he makes with gameplay
You NEVER bargle with Yargle
Man, that second game escalated really quickly, they abruptly stopped
Yargle, that's the stuff
YES YARGLE MY HERO
Why did Jordan keep the fish? I felt like he should have cast blood moon or dockside

Got ya that makes a ton of sense. Thank you!
Commander to command zone is not 'dying'. Blood Artist does not trigger for that.
I'm from the future, it does now.
Yargle is Love.
Yargle is Life.

You are forgetting an important factor: the tilt all players must have been experiencing when Yargle was revealed as the commander.
Wish yisan showed better in any of these games man. Mine is more elfball geared and can usually win turn 3/4. I’m rooting for you yisan!

Thrull retainer FTW
Let's get an optimized thrun ya boy is a unit
I was literally joking about playing competitive Yargle on the last Playing with power stream

This second game is more casual.
The first deck is Opus Thief...
Riiiiight...
Dang, too bad Bill didn't draw a green source on his first turn HAHAHAHA

i like your content!
"I'm not sure Adam playing this card was really the best for him"

Sram is pretty good
@@rhozpogi He totally is, but I think having access to blue opens up a lot of potential that just being in mono-white can't offer.
voltron needs control too, and lots of protection
voltron can't be competitive?

I see Izzet I blitz in.
i love me some yisan
Whomst dares bargle with yargle
Adam blew it pretty bad, could have had a turn 1 yisan. Gemstone and ancient tomb.
You can tell Adam doesn't really know how to play Yison very well because instead of casting that mana crypt he should have cast yeson and equips the grieves for haste then passed turn with mana available to activate his ability EOT and possibly win
Rooting for Yisan but I see C16 Partner Commanders so not holding my breath.
Id like to see you guys mix it up with some true casual gameplay. I'd love to see how you guys handle lower power levels.
