Can I suggest you turn off auto-levels on your sound recorder when there is appliance noise in the background? When you talk it lowers the levels and the appliance noise cuts out, but every time you pause it cuts back in. It is driving me wild lol.

Thanks, but that wasn't the issue. For the first part, the mic. cord had accidentally gotten put into the 'mic' jack instead of the 'output.' In the second part, you'll notice it is better as it was plugged in properly. MOre than that though, here about a month ago, we changed the AV cord from the camera to the receiver, which has resulted in much beter sound. Problem is, this video was recorded about 4 months ago, so yeah. It wasn't worth taking time out of Jay's day to re-record this one as he already spends several hours a week editing videos. Remember, we don't make a dime on this channel, in fact we loose money lol. That said, it bugged me too, trust me.

    Great vid!!!
I believe FN "acquiesced". Also, my understanding is that the SOE showed the initial 'British" interest in the HP-35.
Nevertheless, I was issued a new '72 T series BHP in 1973 (replaced my 1911) for service in S.E. Asia. This same pistol continued to be my primary sidearm - thru the '90s in the Balkans, service in the former-Soviet Republics, into turn of the century ops in the mid-East and N. Africa. It was "excessed" to me in 2012.

i have owned both a CH and T series. Still have the T . its a Navy Arms import that i believe came from NZ. My CH was one of those sold by Century in the 90's. it was reblued with a crappy finish. Sold it after a few years. i also had the 2 style of Sl&T tan holsters . all this stuff was easy to find in the late 80's and early 90's , but has mostly dried up. i even still have a couple of JI mags somewhere.
Value on them has not gone up much . much less than german items. i remember Paragon Shotgun news advertising NZ and Chinese HP . those were the good ol days . Cheap ammo and surplus guns

Not really sure who or how my No. 2 came into the USA. I bought it complete with 2 mags and canvis holster. The No. 1 came out of a friend's collection. He had it since at least the 1980s, including the stock-holster. I don't recall either having an import marking, certainlly not a big modern one at least.
Here about 6-7 years ago, Century had a small batch of about 6 CH series No. 1s on an odd-lots list. I bought them all. They had a parkerized finish and were serial matching; pretty cool but no stocks sadly.
Honestly, Inglis HI Powers are my favorite HI Powers, followed by Argie FMAPs from the 1960s or 1970s. Right now, i don't even own a Belgian FN, and I am fine with that. I would like to get a Finnish Air Force HP one day though.

How much was the Hi Power, I am wantin one once I save up but every time I find one it’s either expensive or they don’t have one.

I am not the one to ask, I've had these a long while. So what they cost me probably doesn't matter today. That said, the No. 2 MK I in this video has an interesting story behind it. I got it on a very important day in my life; and still one of the best days too. Probably something worth a 'Storytime' episode one day.

Thanks, and already did one on the FEG guns. If you checkout the Austro-Hungarian playlist, you can find it. That said, I've been thinking of revisiting some of them such as the 'Steyr-Hahn' and FEMARU 37M.

Canadian surplus pistols were fairly common back in the '90s. I could kick myself for not snagging one then. My Argentine FM is an excellent pistol, but a Commonwealth pistol would be an awesome snag!

I've always had a thing for the Inglis HI Powers, so i grabbed one back when. I've had a few different ones over the years now. I like them more than most FNH made ones just for the history.

    You guys kick ass.
I picked up a Belgian Hi-Power a couple years back. It was a Belgian police trade in made during 1965. I really love it, it's a great shooter and I got it for $430 off of Aim Surplus. Other than some holster wear, it doesn't seem like it was used much and it works great with the modern 15 round magazines.
I don't know if you guys are aware, but FNH stopped production of the Hi-Power in the last year. I was looking at the new ones and they wanted $800-$900 for one, I like the Hi-Power but not that much.
Here is a link about FNH ceasing production: www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2018/02/06/browning-ends-hi-power-production-1936-2017/

We recorded this video about 6 months ago, so a bit of a backlogger. I had one of those AIM surplus FNs too. Those came out of Israel and were authentic FNHs. I recently sold mine though, got $750 out of it on Gunbroker, so can't complain. I moved it to get an Argie FMAP HP, which we did a video on awhile back too.

Nah, it was the mic that day. If it is plugged into the wrong jack, everything sounds higher pitched and the base is nearly gone. That said, it is like 20 years old and came free with the house. Every year it makes it, is just another freebee hehe. My problem with modern appliances is that so many use flat touch screens....something I can't operate, so yeah.

Still in service in Canadian Army, but in major disrepair. The Canadian Army is borrowing SIG-Sauer P226s from JTF-2 because there are so few working Inglis pistols left. The Canadian government says that new pistols are coming in 2030!

    • @ozarkbeararms8840
      @ozarkbeararms8840 6 ปีที่แล้ว

Yep, sounds about right...sadly. Don't get me wrong, the HP was an excellent gun for its day, but compared to something more modern like a P226 or Glock? Its a tempermental thing haha.

Ozark Bear Arms Canada should just buy a bunch of Glocks for the Canadian Army, a new pistol is way overdue.
