  • Steve Smith demos the Marshall CODE50 50W 1x12” Combo Modelling Amp.
    www.gear4music....
    From Marshall comes the CODE series of amplifiers, with collaboration from Softube to create MTS modeling to deliver a series that have the authentic modelling of classic and contemporary Marshall tones with professional quality FX. The CODE 50 amp produces 50W of pure power with a selection of controls to adjust your sound to match your needs, and with the ability to connect via Bluetooth, USB and jack to listen to your favorite songs, making this a immensely well designed amp that will match your needs.
    This video was produced in Gear4music's own studio facility at its headquarters in York.

    Really interested in these amps--thanks for the demo! I'd love for someone to do a demo with a Les Paul and show us some vintage mid through late 60s tones: Bluesbreaker doing some Clapton, Plexi doing some Zeppelin, etc. Some AC/DC stuff, etc. Humbuckers!

      Indeed...need a LP demo for sure!

    All the demos are more about the controls and options than what these things sound like.

      you're playing it through a computer so it won't sound the same anyways. Go to a store and play it.

    Great video by a guy who knows what to do with his hands.
    Actually the first video where this combo sounds like it sounds real.

    I have the 25W version, it sounds very good, works very nice. But the pairing with the phone es via Bluetooth and it disconnects sometimes, which is annoying. I wish it could be plugged via the USB cable instead. Would be much better.

    That they sound so good here, I will get one, I do have reservations. But, I own a marshal combo and know that the tube tones are good to me. I am in real want for the amps here to sound as good as they appear to sound. Ultimately there are drawbacks to any amp to some degree. But, at best you find the tones you look for and get busy.

    Sounds like they've got good compression. Hopefully that wasn't added in post.

    I'm guessing this amp won't work well with pedals. Is that correct? I really want this amp, but would love to be able to still use my wah pedal and a couple of trippy pedals like the "Afterneath". Any insight? Thanks.

    • @CarlosFlores-ty7dy
      @CarlosFlores-ty7dy 8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      There is a preset that is stored by default that is called "Natural". It is a clean tone that allows you to plug your pedals and have a great sound. However, if you combine those with the amp's FXs, it sounds awesome!

    What is this amp like at really quiet volumes? I need a bedroom practice amp, but on the other hand one that is large for jamming would be good too, but I mostly need one that I can get a nice quiet sound out of. I am also considering Yamaha THR10 and Line 6 Amplifi, and possibly a Fender Mustang GT.

    • @SoyElGrim
      @SoyElGrim 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Harry Flashman some presets are really loud but you can edit them simply with the "volume" knob. I use this amp for practicing in my room and for gigs too.

    I'm not sure this amp or a DSL5C für hard rocking sound. Hmmm hard to decide.

    is there a big sound difference with the smaller code 25?

    • @gear4musicguitars
      @gear4musicguitars  8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hello,
      There is no sound difference as such, it just depends which particular size venue or environment you will be playing in. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to ask.
      Kind regards,

    if i have my own pedal board does the amp have just a clean channel that i can use?

    • @gear4musicguitars
      @gear4musicguitars  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello,
      Thanks for the post. Whilst you can achieve great clean tones with this amp, unfortunately there isn't a specific clean channel. We hope this helps.
      Kind regards,

    What's the mic being used in this video? Can anyone recommend any other mics ideal for hanging over the top of the amp?

    • @gear4musicguitars
      @gear4musicguitars  8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi Freddy, the mic is a Sennheiser e906. You can actually hang the mic right over the front of the amp if you prefer too: www.gear4music.com/PA-DJ-and-Lighting/Sennheiser-E906-Dynamic-Guitar-Cab-Microphone/RUI
      Kind regards,

      It is this strat -
      www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/Fender-American-Elite-Stratocaster-HSS-MN-3-Colour-Sunburst/1G2K
      But the pickups have been swapped out for DiMarzios.

    Can you gig this amp in small venues?

    • @gear4musicguitars
      @gear4musicguitars  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi +Seb LP (SebLP) 50 watts of solidstate power maybe fine to use in small venues, however, if you have a hard-hitting drummer. If this is the case then we would advise going for something a bit louder. There is still the 100 watt version the CODE100:
      www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/Marshall-CODE100-100W-2x12-Combo-Modelling-Amp/1GUY
      Please let us know if there is anything else we can help with in the meanwhile.
      Kind regards,
      Gear4music.

    • @sebirejahl
      @sebirejahl 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gear4music Thanks a lot! One more question, I was looking at a Sub zero pa system set on your website with 150 watts of power, is it enough to use for practice with a drum kit in a small to medium practice room?

    • @gear4musicguitars
      @gear4musicguitars  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      With a drummer you would probably be looking for something a touch louder. It is just so that everything in the band can be accommodated really. What kind of music are you playing please?
      Kind regards,
      Gear4music.

    • @sebirejahl
      @sebirejahl 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gear4music we play progressive pink Floyd style, but also some indie style rock, we are only looking to use a pa for 2-3 mics

    • @gear4musicguitars
      @gear4musicguitars  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      It may do just the trick but you may need the volume up fairly high for some of the bigger parts when everything kicks in. But if it is just for rehearsals then it should do the trick :)
      Kind regards,
      Gear4music.

      Each to their own I guess, +kristoper hyde . Steve, wanted to use a Fender Elite that particular day. Les Paul through a Marshall CODE would sound awesome though!

    that Fender with maple neck and who knows what pickup sounds very thin. NO harmonics at all though the amp can give it with the apropriate guitar. Use an SG, a F V, or a Les Paul better
