@@baronflamel9442 Mouse over the little hammer icon next to their room needs, it'll say stuff like "Export of (insert item name) banned" If you go to the "move items to trade depot" menu, it'll also display trade banned items with a map marked with an X, and I believe if you disobey the sanction, any civilian that hauled the banned item to the depot as well as the one who did the trade will be giving criminal punishment (sure hope you dont have a hammerer, or at the very least you have a pitifully weak hammerer)

You have the possibility to seize, buy back, block or kill them, so they don't leave while the banned export after all.
To get people from other settlements with the messenger, you need to get a settlement under you first, then you can contact them to send some specific people.
I think the messenger is used for negotiating with goblin sieges so your mayor doesn't go, but I haven't confirmed this yet. Messenger functionality on the world screen sounds awesome too. Love your DF vids, as a returning vet it really helped me shake the rust off.
Your productions are amazing, these tutorials are some like me learning the game just needed!!! Please continue your work !!! Make a video explaing Caves and what is deeper and how explorers work etc . That would be what I want for Christmas 🎉

I like nobles. They're fun to yell at and give me an excuse to actually utilise my craftsdwarves to their utmost capabilities..... Using them to test magma tunel integrity is also fun. :)
i just keep the barest minimal staff with my forts. Usually around 25-30 peeps capped off. This is MY fortress after all...No dwarven rulers allowed. It's hard enough keeping my people on task with so much to do getting the place ready. Setting up a deadly bedroom might just be a good option overall though. Thank you.
My Vampire mayor ended up getting thrown in prison for a year for eating a child, and then my Baron got bitten by a wereheyena and had to be put down - meaning no visiting diplomat was able to schedule a meeting and left unhappy.

I'd hate to have to make a third set of bedrooms! i mine out simple bedrooms for my 7-10 dwarves with little 1x6 strip. I smooth the floors, engrave some walls, and plop down the basic furniture for them. its quick...ish. As the rest of the fort is getting carved out over the first 18 months, I work on larger bedrooms for everyone. By the time I have 20-25 people, The good bedrooms are done. If managers/nobles study and office doesnt need to be the size of the bedroom, that saves MANY months of crafting and digging.
I believe the first mayor is always elected in the first spring after getting the threshold. You may get a lot of migrants before that, specially if you dig a lot ans produce a lot of wealth.
I once had a mayor grind my entire fort's economy to a standstill by forbidding export of bins. Seriously what the fuck. I pretty much had no way of dealing with this, except to hand the mayor a pickaxe, and order him to dig himself into the magma sea.
Room value can be achieved with display cases, the best Item I ever had on display had more than 10'000 reducing the size needed for the guild making the most demands. Failing to meet the guild requests will sometimes piss of some dwarves quite a bit and should at least not be ignored. better to deny the request than ignore it but that wills till reduce their mood.
Can you do a guide on keeping dwarves happy? Struggling with miserable dwarves who seem to never pray in my temples or who miss their nonexistent family.

Thanks for the video! Do you use minecarts for getting stuff done? I find them hard to figure out so if you could make tutorial on how and why to use them that would be fantastic!
My main use for them is being like Minecraft buckets of magma. Bring some magma near surface to power forges. . You don't need to make a railway all the way, they can carry the minecart with their hands.

They annoy your entire fortress by asking for ridiculous things or banning glass right when you’ve just made a successful trade of glass items.

Messenger is the dwarf that goes up to parlay with sieges. If you don't have a messenger, the mayor (or highest rank) goes.
I love how "Assemble Adamantine Ballista Arrow" will always be the first on the manager's list (or maybe 2nd if you have an instrument before it)

Last time had a goblin siege I BARRED THE DOORS WITH STEEL WALLS AND WAITED TILL THEY FROZE TO DEATH AND LEFT. Love this game.

I think that the population threshold for mayor and captain of the guard might not be 50 anymore. Or it just takes longer after you hit 50.
I had a mayor get elected when I had around 55 or so, might be a threshold but I know you must be already considered a village

Champion doesn't seem pickable anymore from the Noble screen, Dwarfs that have a legendary skill will just be called heroes now.
