    Thanks, this video was very helpful and informative.
    Half of my citizens were ripped to shreds by a forgotten beast and the other half were seriously injured.
    Thanks to this video, everyone was able to die peacefully in a hospital together, not from their wounds, but from dehydration.
    Cheers!

      I was pre-emptive! I knew that most of my sick dwarves died from thirst so I made sure to run a river through my fortress for a constant supply of drinking water. They all drowned! Dehydration defeated!

    Usually Miasma (foul odour) builds up in the hospital due to rotting flesh etc. I always make sure to ventilate my hospital, by digging a chimney / tunnel out to open air, and slapping a wall/floor grate over it. Not sure if it really helps tho, but it "feels" effective :D

      Anything in a tile that has been directly exposed to the sky won't generate miasma, even when later covered over - or at least that's how it worked pre-Steam release.
      If you don't feel like digging that much space out, you can also put the hospital beds in separate nooks/rooms with doors. Doors stop miasma.

    Thanks for the guide! One of the issues with the game I found was that in the description I see "you need an X item, which you must first to craft in a workshop", but the game doesn't tell you in which one the item is crafted. So, when I tried to order a traction bench, I searched for it in carpenter's and in stoneworker's. Didn't know I had to build a mechanics workshop, now I know at last. )

    Hey mate, first of all i wanted to thank you for your very helpful short tutorials.
    I´ve gotten into DF just 2 days ago and I seem to have a problem with my hospital or my dwarfs in general.
    I have multiple incapacitated dwarfs in need of crutches, but they´re all just left at the spots where they were wounded.
    I´ve got all the medical personal assigned, a chief medical dwarf and every table and tool in a chest.
    So far my main cook has gone stark raving mad by sitting onefooted infront of the kitchen for a whole year.

    They still wont help conscious dwarves who are so injured that can't move anymore. Minotaur brutalized one of my dwarf, who basically took the blow for the others, but they dropped them on the door of the hospital. Buckets of water are also important for washing syndrome-causing residue from the dwarves' bodies. If that syndrome-causing residue is not washed off, then the pertinent syndrome will just keep coming back. This is all-too-common after encounters with Titans, Forgotten Beasts, and Demons.

    • @xway2
      @xway2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's a task they need to do but it's considered low priority I believe. So if there's a lot of other stuff that needs doing they might have to wait a little while. You can assign some people to only carry wounded (perhaps that's something "orderlies" will do, I haven't looked into that, otherwise just do a custom work detail).

  • @TheAmethyz
    @TheAmethyz ปีที่แล้ว
