Hi Aiden, brilliant vlog for floor. Spoke with Ruth today at Aldi, ( ask her about parking) she had a look at our camper, work in progress. Needs laser lights, seat covers and extra cupboard space above.Trev
Anither quality video mate 🤌Sliding R&R was the best mod we did in our t4 syncro. So practical for everyday use. These floors are quality, having seen them up close at ape hq
Nice work! I was sceptical at the start of the film, mainly due to the thickness of the extrusion, but it looks awesome in and, I’m guessing, would allow you to have a lot of flexibility with triple, double and bench seats if you put enough rails in? What it made me think of is having modular interiors you can swap around and customise if they work with the tracks, so a kitchen, or tool cabinet, 6 rear seats, bike racks, beds, etc., etc!
@@AlexP-hl4wn ye exactly. All this is inspired from the ape vans. You can pick and chose how many, if any, seats you want. Only thing with modular is plumbing and electric. They need to be sorted in a way you can swap out if you need. Moving parts etc.
Looks mega bud. This is what we wanted to achieve with our transporter but found the existing RIB on rails solutions mega expensive and not quite fit for our needs. This looks like the perfect setup for a Kombi / camper / swamper / MTB van 😅
Great video. Really interesting. I made my own floor to take ford torneo seats from a sandwich of 1.5mm steel, 12mm structural ply, and 1.5mm steel, glued and screwed together, and then bolted down to the anchor points. I'm really happy with it, but my issue is that it's not tested, and I'm not sure how I go about getting it tested? Doing something like this might have been a better option. Any advice is well appreciated. Keep up the good work. 👍
Added rails from Clearcut campers to mine with a RIB bed, front to back movement in a lwb T5.1. Best thing I’ve done to it makes it so much more practical for travelling, something as simple as moving it up like a combi and loading the back with gear so nothing is in the way travelling with 5 alone makes it worth it.
Thank you for sharing - big fan of your work. I'm about to start my conversion with a 21 crafter so the timing of the content is perfect! I really like the amf bruns set up like Andy - especially as an occasional 5th seat is a must. Where would be the best place to source this floor system and seats? Also, is the Unwin system another option to consider?
Really interesting to watch 😊 I'm looking to convert a van of my own insurance the next few months. How would this floor be without insulation in the floor? Many thanks 😊
@@LifesADiscovery I have a fully insulated floor in my black van. And still cold when you jump out of bed ha. The monogram’s floor has a better heat retention if you are concerned
This looks fantastic and I'm looking forward to the next video. Our of interest, which Altro vinyl is this? I've not come across that pattern before and it looks great. Thanks
I am thinking a heating vent manifold directed to the gaps in between the aluminum floor blasted in the front end and vent near the back doors might work with it perhaps. I know heat will be absorbed to the van floor but it could work great.
Possibly but if the rear door end was the outlet it might act as a big radiator and push the heat up your rear entrance 😮. I personally would play with the idea especially if you had the diesel heater under your driver’s seat. Floor looks like a great idea though 👍
@@jawatazi5054 yes I think the composite floor would potentially be warmer. Although… in my big van. I have celotex and then ply. And it’s still cold. So I keep socks on anyway ha
Quality, was always the cost of the caravelle system and faff of getting it fitted put me off, this definitely makes me think 🤔 cheers Edit, just carpet a piece for the gaps at end of the threshold
@@urbanarkoverland well, I'd say there's a lot in it. It is composite, with XPS core, rather than "plastic". Obviously M1 tested and gives you perfect sound and thermal insulation as an adavantage, on top of being more than 30% lighter.
