    I watched hundreds of van build videos and I just have to let you know Humble Road is one of the most informative and entertaining I’ve ever watched thank you so much. I’m really looking into building a van and your ideas inspire me on a regular basis. Thank you again

    • @tedbrogan1262

      Perfectly said. Typical van builds only show the glammour side of why they think their choice is the beat choice. George takes us down rabbit holes which allows us to see a deeper level of how certain choices affect other issues in a van build.

    • @laylalu920
      @laylalu920 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ted Brogan He also shows us the tricks and trades, that Flipping of the board over the tires that’s amazing and such a time saving aspect. I am so hyped just underfunded for my van LOL

    • @elizabethgolding2754
      @elizabethgolding2754 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Layla Lu ,
      Just jump in with both feet. I am funding as I go. A lot of the joy and satisfaction is in the build journey (slowwwww as it may be). Working it slowly forces me to check and double check my plans for each step, helping avoid mistakes. Bound to be a few of those regardless. I just mean to say that there was never going to be the time when I had everything lined up, so I bought the van and am taking it one step at a time. Learning and absorbing all the knowledge that George is so willing to share with us. He is a Gem for sure. Thank you George.
      Hope you decide to just “do it”, you will find the journey amazing.

    • @laylalu920
      @laylalu920 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Elizabeth Golding I would love to jump in with both feet, but financially it’s not possible. I’m in New York where the pandemic hit the hardest and I’m still out of work and barely making ends meet from what I get from unemployment I can’t be making any other purchases at the moment.

    • @tedbrogan1262
      @tedbrogan1262 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@laylalu920 Good luck on it then. I hope it works out in the future. My wife and I have 4 little kids, so all of this learning for me is only meant to give me ideas of what I can do in 25 years. So much will change between now and then.
      I'm so glad George teaches the "why", rather than simply showing the results. It's the "why" that you and I can take in to a Van build whether it be 1 year or 25 years down the road

    There is a german van build company that sells sprinter van paper templets, which I love! You should sell your templets George, they'd be so super helpful to other builders who are neither as accurate nor as patient as you to get the right measurements :)

    Ah! I feel much better now that I got my Humble Road fix! Thanks George!
    Glad you got a CNC machine. All the Euro camper vans have a CNC cut teak bath mat in their shower stalls. Now you can make them too, yay!!! They look so cool and are very functional. What about a CNC cut acrylic wine glass cabinet as well? All the Euro vans have them along with a strip of blue LED lights to glamorize it. Apparently, in all those German Hymer vans, the wine glasses stay put and never knock around in their custom acrylic seats.

    Your video's and builds continue to impress, with all the detail you so graciously provide. I'm surprised tho.....at 12:45 you discuss thoroughly covering the scuffed area of the ribs with sealant, yet you installed with only a zigzag adhesive pattern on the wood. It will likely cover most of the scuffs, but smoothing a thin layer on the metal ribs also is the best way to guarantee complete coverage. Don't you just 'love' arm chair quarterbacks like me? All the best.

      Interesting product. Unfortunately it's fairly heavy at 12 lbs per square foot and the R-value is only 0.2 per inch. Being a gypsum product I have to wonder how it would hold up to the constant shock and vibration of driving, too.

      Dan, if you don’t mind buying used, you can get a heck of a lot of value for your dollar by buying a Van from a reputable commercial business. My 2014 van came from a company that used it for delivering doors to job sites. They have a maintenance contract with the local Mercedes Dealership and service records were available for me to review!
      Yep, it was dirty and scuffed up but I saved about 6 grand!
      Just a thought!

      Hi John, I think I buy almost everything gently used at this point in my life. Lots of life changes during this plandemic.
      My plans are becoming even simpler than I expected. I just came across a step van with low mileage. I think the 4spd transmission has kept it on the market, and is reflected in the low price. Glad I grew up driving manual transmissions 🤣
