This was such a great rollercoaster of a fight. Usyk's olympic gold medal and undisputed accomplishments in two weight divisions safely puts him in the GOAT debate.

Wow! Usyk missed the birth of his daughter to fight Tyson Fury. I’m happy that Oleksandr Usyk won. Undisputed at Heavyweight alone is enough to take the P4P #1 away from lower-weight greats like Bud & Inoue, but the dude has Undisputed Cruiserweight too. John Fury cannot be on the corner honestly. Sugar Hill looked so disappointed at the post fight press conference. I was shocked how badly hurt Fury was out of nowhere. I don’t know if Fury’s heart is in this anymore. Usyk was talking about his country, his father…just seems to mean a lot more to him than money.
I agree, looked like Fury was cruising to victory but started getting careless and lazy. A guy like Usyk won't go away you cant take your foot off the gas. Rematch will happen but I wonder if Fury even cares.

_"If Fury didn't have those three fights with Wilder, does Usyk still drop him?"_ Yes. As someone who has watched Fury's career since the very beginning on Channel 5 in the UK, he's always been... not chinny, but certainly susceptible to being hurt even (or especially) by smaller fighters. @@LordZedd123there’s nothing wrong with his chin. His head was getting knocked all over the place, like it was on a spring, loads of times in round 8 and he took it well.
Nah. Although it was a good fight & wasn't the stinker a lot of people tipped it to be. Usyk cemented himself as P4P #1 IMO. 2x undisputed like Crawford & Inoue except he did so at a *39lb disadvantage* in the land of giants.
As long as ur chin holds up well, less weight usu giv u huge *advantage* at hw...optimal hws usu under 17st in most eras up until Lennox/Klitchkos at least. Stamina is key, punch output critical factor in a 12 rnder - look how much lighter Parker bt Zhang for very recent evidence.

What could Fury do to win? (1) Don't waste time and opportunities by clowning around. (2) Be more aggressive. (3) If there is any chance at all that you are behind or even tied, don't coast. Instead, give it your all - pour it on just as you would if you absolutely had to win the rounds.
No the clownibg, that s part of who Tyson is... He needed to be the aggressor, instead of backing up... More jabs.. And body shots.. But backing him up and bullying him Fury stunned Usyk with a shot but didnt take advantage
@@jayclarke9611everyone stuns Usyk but he backtracks and clears his head. Fury can’t be aggressive because he will gas out. We all know you don’t want to be fatigued with Usyk throwing 1000 punches at you. If fury rematches Usyk he’ll lose again probably be KOd
Fury was gassed out even after being much trimmer . Usyk overworks his opponents. Fury couldn’t get to Usyk in the first few rounds. All of the heavyweights fighting Usyk gassed out in the second half. Usyk never looked for the knockout even after the 9th round. Always sticking to the script & adjusting accordingly.
Relentless? Oh please he was sleeping through the first 8, he was exhausted after round 1 😂 watched it live and on repeat, Fury won far more and therefore should have won.
@@sobieski901 he was punching the air through the first 8. Someone needed to give the poor dude a mattress because he was well and truly in need of some rest. Dude looks 50 and was knackered after the first round. Fury clear winner.
Usyk broke Furys nose in Round 8, which went under the radar, which meant Fury had to breathe through his mouth in Round 9 which is why Usyk was able to catch Fury with that huge shot.
It's kind of crazy nobody is talking about this much. It was the punch that changed everything in that fight. The announcers barely mentioned it. I was watching with a few friends and we noticed it instantly. He started favoring it pretty bad and Usyk was just a share in the water circling for the kill at that point. Fury just couldn't hide the injury much.
well done Paulie.. I was very impressed by both guys in this fight and the over-and-back adjustments, that kept swinging the fight in opposite directions. So to get someone who loves to dig into the details so quick (yourself) was great. I was impressed by Fury's counter-punching and boxing skills. I've not seen him be that technically impressive before. Round 6 was so one sided for Fury, yet Usyk did not relent. I thought we were heading towards an ugly ending for Usyk. Usyk came out in round 7 or 8 bobbing & weaving to start the round (a clear change to disrupt Fury's reading of his timing I think). Really impressive to see Usyk adapt. He found his way through somehow. That left hand seemed to be the way through (be it through, feints, timing, knowing when Fury's guard was low maybe?? I don't know, but somehow he got it through). My brother said Fury should have kept pressing. But I think Usyk did what great fighters or even sports team do and took away the strengths of his opponent, and you just didn't see Fury landing the uppercuts again. Fury did have an impressive 12th round though. He caught Oleksander many times with hooks. A great fight, all-in-all. Hard to stop talking about it.
I don't like judging active fighters in historical terms. I think it's better to wait until they've retired. However, Usyk is a generational talent - a truly great champion, and a hugely intelligent one.
@don17525 so other than round 9, what rounds did Usyk decisively win? And remember, even the judges only had him by a single point, despite the KD in rd9

Great fight that had the perfect combination of two technical high IQ chess players that turned into a battle of two junk yard dogs. Two major moments swung the fight for me, Round 8 (i think!) Usyk starting swinging from the hip with overhand lefts and rights while Fury was throwing. One of those lefts landed flush on Furys nose and clearly broke it, or at the very least threw Fury off his gameplan which before that moment had him taking complete control. Honestly there was a point in round 6 that i thought i was seeing quit in Usyks eyes (i need new glasses!). After that hook to the nose he seemed more than preoccupied with the blood coming from his nose and then his jab and sweeping rights to the body/uppercuts completely vanished. Usyk could now get in the front door without any tax. The second moment came at the end of a good round for Fury, 30 seconds to go and he engages with Usyk close up but once again Usyk let those hooks go from deep down south as Fury was punching (even connecting with an uppercut right before Usyks right landed) and then that left....holy smokes. Usyk, a damn worthy undisputed heavyweight champion and hopefully we see these two battle it out again in October.
Uysk is an absolute tank took some heavy shots from fury and still kept coming the turning point in the fight was when he busted up fury’s nose fury was never the same after that fury looked spectacular at times though but Uysk just kept coming even when he was down on the cards in those middle rounds.
What Usyk has done in the HW division and throughout his career, has been truly remarkable. It almost looks like he’s toying with his opponent in the second half of the fight. I really thought he would stop Fury, just like it looked like he would stop Joshua. Amazing fight, Usyk is definitely one of the greats and the greatest of this era.
It’s refreshing to see two heavyweights in Fury and Usyk boxing light on their feet and using their footwork like classic Ali and Iron Mike - it really made the fight stand out.
Although a manufactured heavyweight, Usyk is still a master boxer in all areas. And he also has developed and trained for some power. It’s attrition for him, but his conditioning helps. I absolutely love Usyk, and couldn’t be happier for him. Fury didn’t make certain adjustments I thought he would. Usyk is amazing, and is certainly top 3 p4p. Love all your work Paulie!! Always have been a fan and always will be!!!
Similar to Evander Holyfield that it wasn’t as natural for him to move to heavyweight. He had to train a bit harder to get there. Usyk could still be at cruiserweight. It makes perfect sense. It’s not an insult

@@promo130 I had one even, 2-7 for Fury, and then Fury just stops jabbing and damn near stopped defending with anything else but leaning back. I guess Usyks pressure tired him out.

He didn't regain a foothold after the knockdown. Arguably, Fury only won 4 middle rounds. Fury showboating to con the ref/public doesn't win fights. Punches do
I think that bravado was a part of his gameplan to do his thing and try to frustrate Usyk like he did Vlad. Problem is that it wasn’t sustainable to outbox a superior boxer and he couldn’t get into Usyks head at all

Great breakdown and scoring as usual Paulie, much respect ! I feel that Fury and his corner all let themselves down in round 8 & 9 from a tactical point of view. They abandoned the defence and jab and allowed Usyk back into the fight. Round 9 changed the whole momentum of the fight. Usyk deserves a lot of credit for his risk taking.
That was one of the best heavyweight fights I’ve seen in a while (the best in recent times for me was Fury vs Wilder II), but it was extra special considering how it was the first undisputed heavyweight match up in 25 years. Usyk is a beast!
The reason why usyk’s shots are more affective than other power punchers in the division is because he has pin point accuracy. He lands clean coming off a feint with a lead left hand or he will Slip your jab to the inside with a Left. Accurate punchers have more of an affect because they land clean and when your not expecting. On top of that Usyk has very fast hands and he puts combos together very well to the body and head. Tyson has being dropped before wilder by SS Cunningham pulling back in a straight line and he kept doing that in this fight and Usyk followed him with left and right hooks landing clean hurting him numerous times.
@@AbdulGhani-vm6oqig wasn't close. UYSK was in front before the knockdown. Fury did nothing but land a few jabs and a couple body shots. the fight should have been stopped. When the ref gestured for Fury to walk towards him Fury staggered towards him. The difference between Usyk and 99% of fighters today is the greatness he shows when shifting the momentum back in his favour when its going south. Nearly all fighters today cannot reverse the momentum when the fights getting away from them and ACCEPT defeat. Usyk cannot and will not ACCEPT defeat and switches it up to a level beyond the opponents capability. It truly is a special and super rare ability Usyk possesses.
I thought the ref could have called that knockdown earlier. The ropes kept Fury on his feet twice before ref called him down in the corner, so I initially thought it was stopped, but knockdown was right call... maybe late, if anything. I had it 114-113, Usyk. Rounds 2-7 for Fury.
I feel like usyk had mercy on the great Tyson fury because of all the help fury's country offered ukraine. I feel like the fight could have been a lot worse if usyk didn't have mercy on fury
The rules for a mandatory eight count say that the fighter must be draped over the ropes, not just having the ropes stopping the fighter hitting the deck. All the governing bodies have the same rules. Fury was not draped over the ropes and no part of his body had touched the canvas. The referee should have stopped the fight or let Usyk keep pounding on Fury.
Not exactly quoting the QR regs verbatim there friend, are u? There is no remit for ref to arbitrarily wave off a fight *as long as fighter is still able to take evasive action to defend himself, which fury was arguably doing. There's no hard Reg bout 'draping' off ropes, but using ropes to roll usyk's assault in last few seconds of r9 was fury's mistake, cos he really shuda grabbed hold instead. Since fury never hit canvas it's moot anyway whether he wuda stayed on his feet another 15 secs cos Usyk looked punched out as well by then. All things being equal, that standing count gifted Usyk the 10-8 he needed to claim undisp.
Usyk hurt the best heavyweights in his era, and they, both, never managed to hurt him badly. Old heavyweights, apart from Ali, were non-technical, all sat down and traded. They never faced awkward technical heavyweights like Usyk and Fury.
Lol he ain't touching the Easton Assassin L Holmes or George Foreman in 1995!!! Fury can take a punch but has a weak chin.. been on the mat in 8 fights... Usyk is the best HW of his era which started after he beat AJ... Not very long.. but he's better than the Brits.. AJ, Fury, Dubois...
Usyk took the fight to another gear in the second part of ~ all his professional fights. Usually, he does not try to get a KO because the associated risk is too high (or is the full control or the opponent has also KO power, but he can control the fight). He risked KO in the fight with Tony Bellew, for example, because the risk of letting Bellew continue was even higher. The same idea for the Tyson Fury fight: Furry is very difficult to control, so a KO, TKO, or even a knockdown is highly desired.
How is this even a discussion? What is wrong with you people? Easy 8-4 win for Usyk! 🇺🇦 The world is done!! Truth is finished!! If you think Fury even came close get a damn labodomy !!

But backing him up and bullying him

Paulie, Tyson Fury has been dropped by cruiserweight steve Cunningham and pajkovic too so the wilder fights didn't contribute to usyk dropping fury

@@WakeUp11112 What fight were you watching?
reminds me of the Bivol vs Canelo decision
Yup

What Usyk has done in the HW division and throughout his career, has been truly remarkable. It almost looks like he’s toying with his opponent in the second half of the fight.
The reason why usyk’s shots are more affective than other power punchers in the division is because he has pin point accuracy. You are right man, that’s why sugar looked so disappointed at the end. Usyk really dig deep to come back on that fight. I think Usyk was just fighting for something more meaningful to him than Tyson. Tyson looked great at moments but played around too munch.
I think Fury thought he was cruising. The body shot he was looping in was tactically 100% based on the low blow dubois landed. It was working as well
Like watching a natural super middleweight get beat by a slightly bulked up welterweight.
Pound for pound
Furys constant rollercoaster in weight could throughout his career have finally taken its toll. Usyk is smaller has taken care of his body, i think that played a part with turing fury on top of the mental pressure.
Great win for Usyk, he’s a gentleman, he’s not a show off or a loudmouth like most heavyweights, specially the Americans. But let’s chill out with the “Usyk won easy” , guys it was a split decision which means the fight could’ve gone either way. Calm down
Those Wilder fight took something out of Fury or it time catching up, Usyk is a bad man amazing performance, Fury was punch drunk in the 9th round, amazing fight from both warrior , congrats to Usky and his team "SLAVA UKRAINE"
After Fury got his nose busted up that’s when the fight changed. Fury started to fatigue after that and started getting caught with shots
Great breakdown magic man
Fantastic fight. Fury boxed beautifully and deserves a huge amount of credit. he had better answers for Usyk than almost anybody else but Usyk is just that special. Fury has now been dropped in 3 out his last 5 fights, 8 times over the course of his career. Is it safe to say his punch resistance, if not his recovery yet, is gone?
I don’t think it puts Usyk in the greatest heavyweight debate, but I do think it puts him in the greatest fighter debate. Olympic gold, undisputed and the greatest CW of all time, undisputed and a very great heavyweight beating champs twice his size. He accomplished everything he possibly could, if there was another division I’m sure he’d move up and do it again lol
Sorry but U can't be considered GOAT hw after jus FIVE pro fights at that div.
...plus ZERO kos, not counting Dubious who QUIT
He s one of the best in last 20 years
With Crawford and Mayweather
the fight should have been stopped. When the ref gestured for Fury to walk towards him Fury staggered towards him. It don't matter if it's a undisputed fight or not you have to put the fighters health ahead of the occasion and to let a fight carry on after the fighter staggered towards the ref for the walk which is suppose to prove the fighters recovered is disgusting
Casuals abound...plz jus learn tha rules, eh? Jeez...
@@FUKAOKEVERSE Fanboys abound please learn the rules. What do you think the point is of walking towards the ref. It's to check the fighter is fit to carry on. If you think Fury was fit to carry on you're a numb skull
Usyk has an extra gear ⚙️ he’s unbeatable
I thought the ref could have called that knockdown earlier. The ropes kept Fury on his feet twice before ref called him down in the corner, so I initially thought it was stopped, but knockdown was right call... maybe late, if anything.
I had it 114-113, Usyk. Rounds 2-7 for Fury.
Same score here
No way Fury won round 7.....He didn't win round 2 either
You watched a different fight.
I'm shocked over Usyk !! I think it was a good fight. Great breakdown, Paulie 👍🏻👍🏻🍀
Round 8 changed the fight. Fury was winning till this point. Broken nose
He wasn't
Nope
Dude Usyk weighs more than Deontay Wilder did for most of his fights. I think you dramatically underestimated his power.
I think it boils down to who you think edged the close rounds. You clearly gave them to Usyk where as I gave them to Fury. But I didn't want either one to lose. Don't worry, off to get my lobotomy :)
Suddenly he's a Ukrainian 😂
Draw at best
@@marcust123 😂😂😂 troll.
You nailed it bro, sometimes I wonder what exactly is wrong with people, usyk won this fight convincingly yet some people trying to change the narrative
