Super good video but he does get one detail wrong at 41 minutes regarding carbohydrate. He states that if you have starved yourself of carbohydrate, you’re not going to be able to perform maximal output. This is false. There are many athletes myself included that have switched from utilizing exogenous carbohydrate, and now just fat and protein. The finer point that he is missing is, your body is not relying on carbohydrate to produce energy, it is utilizing glucose. Your body through the process of gluconeo genesis can regulates your blood glucose level through this process. For high intensity, athletic endeavor, you need to upregulate this pathway, which can take anywhere from 4 to 16 weeks depending on your age. Most people don’t understand this concept because the entire sports medicine community is deeply immersed in the highly glycolic methodology of exogenous carbohydrate intake.
Regarding his statement on the glycolytic pathway, I’m assuming he’s referring to the Krebs cycle. This pathway is separate from the mitochondria, but also linked to it. He states that this glycolitic pathway only utilizes glucose, which is incorrect. This pathway can utilize all four macro nutrients converting them into NADH, which is then passed onto the electron transport chain via electrons and onward to ATP. There is no separate process for energy production per se, all food is converted into electrons, and the body also has the ability to gain electrons from external sources of sunlight and grounding, adding to the production of energy.
I’m surprised he focused so much on the exercise regarding mitochondrial health, when the environmental factors of light water and emf have a much larger impact on the mitochondria.

That ridiculous, so you are saying that you eat lots of proccessed food, eat tons of candy, eat tons of fast simple carbs, eat tons of proccessed meats and ultra processed foods, smoke lots of cigarettes, drink tons of alcohol and exercise nothing? That would be "the opposite of what the government says" 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ Have you even read the actual recommendation and guide lines? Your moronic claim to do the opposite is hyperbole and a pure strawman.

      That book's not on Amz.
      Not @Goodreads, either.
I googled it. Found a Reddit thread, someone asking what, if anything, Reddit users knew about the book.
Turns out - there's a very Good reason Amz & GR dont carry it. It's not legit.
Couple of Reddit users actually bought the book from some 'Indian Books' website.
They report the book is basically just crap - chatgpt could have cranked this thing out in 10min.
Book promises 'health secrets' & delivers nothing - completely lacks detail.
Also, per one Reddit user who has the book - all the 'authors' on the back cover who recommend the book - may or may not be real people, (authentic authors) - but the books they supposedly wrote do not exist.
      Total scam.

Well, let me tell you my story! I have had severe chronic migraines every day for 9 years! But only running makes me feel pain-free on a daily basis. Weight training doesn't have that effect on me! If I go to the gym and lift heavy weights, I won't get the same benefit. I'll leave the gym knowing that I'll feel pain that day. I've been doing this every day for 3 months!

great podcast. I cycled BPC 157/TB500 for 8 weeks. I absolutely felt a herx. I do have chronic Lyme, however am doing very well. I tried Ipamorelin with Semorelin for 6 weeks... not keen on the side effect of feely a bit puffy. I have settled on a very low dose of Semorelin twice a day (has a short half life) . Have never felt better. I am almost 53 so I am pondering... is it really that unsafe to run at a very low dose indefinitely? From what I understand i will never hit supraphysiologic dosing using it this way since it is just a secretagogue?... I kind of look at it this way... when we as females were younger we had plenty of estrogen...now all of a sudden in menopause we are to believe we replace the estradiol and now it gives us cancer?.. Trying to view HGH the same way. My levels are way lower than they were in my younger years, so is it really detrimental for me to be supporting HGH at an optimal (maybe not even) physiological dose every day?....

This video is a little 🙂 to long for me to watch, so I'll skimm Dr Gladdens book instead.
I noticed though that he hasn't yet got exercise for older people quite right, in my opinion of course.
Something we need more than when younger is a few short muscle intense sprints a day. Something that you can't do for more than a minute.
    My current favorite is shovelling!
But since I don't have a heap of dirt at home to shovel, I utilize an 8 kg mace to simulate that movement.
One set a couple of times a day replaces working hard in the garden, which I don't have.
It's an extreme core exercise for anyone older, but it's main function is to make the heart pump and the blood flow. You have to use most of the body's muscles to get the right effect!
VO2 max might be important too, but don't miss out of these sprints. You absolutely need them more when older.
Otherwise, I mostly do muscle building bodyweight exercises in gymnastic rings. But that's not intense enough for getting the effect I'm talking about.

I was excited to hear about the H2 supplements. As it sounds like it's exactly what I need. However, after looking them up, I found that they have Dextrose in the ingredients. I couldn't find any brand without this. Dextrose is a sugar. From what I have researched, it feeds cancer tumors. Since we all have cancer in our bodies, wouldn't it be risky to use this product. I have no idea Why supplements need to have Dextrose in them.

Zone 2 can be done for longer, and thereby grows new blood vessels and enables mitochondria to burn fat.
All the great long distance runners used long slow running in off season to build up their vascular system. If an Olympic gold medal isn’t a sign of high VO2max, there is no such thing.
Zone 2 has its place as well as HIIT.

I think most health gurus start learning because they noticed something is missing. Those with perfect health from the beginning have a tendency of not bother with such things as exercise and supplements, and a few of them even get away with it!
In my experience, as somewhat older than Dr Gladden and looking younger 🙂, you feel better when doing stuff like working out and taking supplements for things we know we probably are deficient in.
I think we all know pretty well what we should do, and the only thing listening to gurus does is to trigger our own thoughts.
But how many of us really constantly do what we know we should do?
