My mini house tour 3: 400sqft / 38sqm 2 Room HDB BTO flat (How I plan & design it - the pros & cons)

- I decided to film another house video because my first 2 house videos were filmed some time back. At that time, I didn’t have any experience in making videos and those 2 were literally my FIRST 2 videos ever. I made them just to record down how my house looked at that time.
Since then, there seems to be a number of people who are interested in my house, so I decided to do a more detailed one, sharing how I designed the look of my tiny 38Sqm / 400sqft apartment and what has changed after 2 years. I also shared what are some of the pro and cons and why I changed the layout and furniture. I’ve also listed down where some of the items were from as I got a numbers of enquiries and I’ve been repeating myself.
Bomb shelter wardrobe system: JONAXEL Open storage system from IKEA (I customized the look I want to fit into my bomb shelter)

I totally love how you do your flat. Who needs a big house when there is a cosy flat.
I'd recommend a bedframe because Singapore's humid weather can easily cause mold to grow under your mattress if not ventilated. Otherwise, love what you did with your flat!
There are cheap and nice bed frame from fortytwo.
Will Murphy bed create more space ?

Another downside of not having a frame is dust, having a frame also allows some storage space below the bed.

Randomly stumbled into this video, i love the entire whole aesthetic of wood with white!! I honestly never thought of using the bomb shelter as a wardrobe..

But then the door is always left closed. The clothings will smell in no time.
It is amazing what someone with taste and design aesthetic can accomplish within a limited space!
Everything in this video comes together very well! The music and graphics complement the design of your apartment. All the decor come together very nicely and make the space look so cosy! The kitchen is a showroom itself with the open shelvings! AND THE VIEW IS PRICELESS!!
Yeah, same idea as what I would like- no TV and left the Living room empty.

Job well done! It is best to share this with those who are moving into 2-room unit house, so they will have an idea of how best they can set a home to live in. Big or small isn't an issue actually. It is how you set things in the home itself. Again well done! I'm impressed and loving it. ^_^
Own home... this is what i aspire to have in a few years' time. Must save $$$$$! 😂the best thing about this minimalist interior is that cleaning won't take forever. I love the storage bench next to the window. It's good for chillin', or for putting plant babies 🙃

Greens are the best view outside the windows! If I had no other family members to take care of, I was looking at the 2 rooms units for singles. To be honest, it is not that small and cramped for u to live alone. Neat and tidy will make the house cosy! At least u own a 2-room flat, better than a lot of ppl who just can share room with siblings like my friend sharing with her sister. It is better to sleep higher for our respiratory system as the air at lower is bad for our health. That's an advice from a professional for me when I have a lower height bed. Just sharing... You have a nice home! 😊

Smart. I like how you took out all the "standard" stuff. I seriously don't need extra crap either. For me I don't need most furniture. Sit and sleep on the floor is good enough. Great share of the process that really helps

Great planning and it turned out so lovely and welcoming! I would have done the layout same as you as well. However I would definitely add a simple wooden frame for the bed so the mattress can air out - can even find ones where you can put more storage.

Thanks for sharing. Flat is small but warm and cozy. Neat, tidy and well kept. I love your vinyl flooring, I would have pick the same kind for my flat. Kitchen is small and simple but well equip with the necessary utensils and appliances. Kamsahamnida!
