Top tip: Plan to drain the oil after a long ride. Let it rest of the side stand for 15 min after returning, then sit on the bike and lean it to the right for a min to empty the left cylinder. Then put it on the main stand, drain it, and remove the oil filter. Let it drain for at least 10 min. You get a lot more old oil out using this method.

Great video! I maybe would have mentioned the crush washer on the oil plug for some less experienced ones watching.

Really enjoy your videos and have been learning quite a bit. Links to items used are not working… Any chance you can update? Looking to replace oil on my 2022 R1250R.

This RT did not have engine guards;therefore the removal of the oil filter was easy. Can you speak to the difficulty in removing the filter with engine guards? Do you know which brand of engine guards do not restrict easy removal of the oil filter? Thank you!

What do you use to clean the oil off the engine and surrounds after you are done? And do you wipe some oil on the mating surfaces of the oil filter? I've done it in the past to ensure a tight fit but I am not sure if this is actually useful on this filter.
