    I like how this male doctor is passionate about skincare. Too many men don’t do skincare due to being label as a feminine routine. We need to normalize skincare and beauty care for men.

      Yeah, you don't usually see this kind of passion for skincare in straight men. When my 21yo husband deployed to Iraq in 07 I sent him sunscreen bc he was in the middle of nowhere and the army dgaf about the grunts dying from melanoma ten yrs later but instead of wearing it he just carried it with him everywhere like a talisman🙄. As such I'm always on the lookout for any precancerous moles I'm gonna have to bully him into getting checked out. He's lucky he's so cute bc lord he's not very bright about these things!

    Hyaluronic Acid helps reduce the visibility of fine lines and wrinkles retaining moisture to the skin, creating a plumping effect. When the skin is protected and hydrated, increased skin cell production can take place, as the skin isn't busy fighting for hydration. This leads to smoother, plumper skin cells.👍

    • @nakaharaindria
      @nakaharaindria 3 ปีที่แล้ว +54

      I don't know if you believe in Hyram or not but he once mentioned in his video that climate does plays a role in using HA. My understanding (based on what he said) is that HA is better for people who live in humid climate compare to dry climate because HA draws moisture from its surrounding (the air, the moisturiser on top of the HA itself, etc.). If there is no moisture that can be taken in, it will instead take out the moisture from your skin. (I guess this is why Dr. Shah said to apply appropriate amount of moisturiser after you apply HA serusm.) Again, I'm not an expert and this is only what I know based on what Hyram said, so take what I said here with a grain of salt. :)
      Edit: I’m sorry. I thought you were asking about whether HA is affected by climate. (Hence my reply.) I just realised that you’re not asking. You are STATING it and asked Dr. Shah to talk about it. I am so sorry if my reply appears to be kinda snobbish when in reality you already know everything that I stated. I need to read more carefully before replying next time. 🙃

      5. Follow with moisturiser. Must apply sunscreen the next morning.
      6. Apply Niacinamide in either morning or evening but do not apply it at the same time as Vit C.
      7. HA can be applied in either the morning or evening, or both times.

      Hello. Hope you don't mind me interfering. If your moisturiser contains occlusive's such as dimethicone, wax, petrolatum, etc. I think it's safe to use as your last step. The HA should draw in moisture and the occlusive should lock it in place. I guess that is the whole point of formulations? If your skin feels and continues to feel soft as a bottom for at least 4-5hours post-application, it should be a good indication of how your skin is taking in the product? Hope this helped!

    “A few drops”… I’d love for you to do a video about dosing skincare. Is “a few drops” 3? 4? 5? I’m not purposely being dense. I really am asking. Am I using enough, or too much? (Thanks so much for your videos. I’ve learned so much rom you guys!)

    Can we use HA before vitamin C and then moisturize? Please make a video on how to layer products and if we need to wait or apply while the skin is damp. Thank you Doctors!

    • @erikavelazquez1835
      @erikavelazquez1835 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Normally after cleansing you layer the products from the lightest to the thicker keeping the skin damp between layers to keep hydration.

    • @erikavelazquez1835
      @erikavelazquez1835 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ethanjacobbelarmino8226 the HA is not going to reduce the efficacy of the vit C. Actually the HA helps to stabilize the vit C. My vitamin C has HA so after using it I add a HA essence from COSRX Snail Advanced. Love it!

    i always put my retinol on first, then my HA. i dont know if thats right, but i feel like it helps "calm down" any sensitivity to the retinol. then niacinamide, then moisturizer. it's like a moisture sandwich - damp skin, treatment, moisturizing stuff, treatment, moisturizing stuff.

      LOL! I just started caring for my skin at 56. Bought every product mentioned on Doctorly, Nikol Johnson and others. After watching MANY Doctorly videos that stress the need to clearly identify what issue you wish to address. That will dictate the course of "treatment". Now I am down to 2 products (beside sunscreen and moisturizer).
